King Taco was founded in 1974 by Raul Martinez. He began the business by selling tacos out of an old ice cream truck that he had renovated. The business was so successful that within 6 months, Martinez opened his first restaurant in Cypress Park, California. A second location followed the next year on East 3rd Street in East Los Angeles.
King Taco now has 20 restaurants throughout Southern California including Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties. The company prides itself on opening a new location every other year.
King Taco offers authentic Mexican food including sopes, carnitas, tacos, and al pastor tacos. Chicharron tacos are quickly becoming a favorite in Los Angeles.
