Chubby’s Restaurant Corporate Office

Chubby’s Restaurant was founded in 1987 by brothers John and George Touris in Dallas, Texas. The company operates a casual, fast-food-type restaurant chain.

The restaurant’s name is the nickname of George Touris, co-founder of the restaurant. 

The company offers a unique mix of casual, fast food. The menu includes breakfast, burgers, salads, sandwiches, soup, and French dip sandwiches, but also Greek food, including Gyros, Chicken Souvlaki, and Haddock, along with spaghetti and a vegetarian pasta dish. The Touris family immigrated from Greece, which accounts for the wide menu selection. The company also sells a wide range of desserts, specializing in cakes and to-go orders.

Chubby’s Restaurant also offers catering and delivery services. The company is still owned by the Touris family, with Peter Touris working as the current CEO.

Sushi House was founded in 1995 in Westmont, Illinois. The company operates a chain of Japanese sushi restaurants in the state of Illinois and one location in Kansas.

There are currently 7 locations in and around the Westmont, Illinois, area, including Naperville, Wheaton, downtown LaGrange, Leawood,   Oak Park, and Downers Grove. Each location offers traditional sushi, but with an updated, modern taste. The chef is available to answer questions and all servers undergo training to better assist customers.

Sushi House also has options for vegetarians and vegans. The company currently has a 4 out of 5 star rating on Yelp.

Taco Casa was founded in 1972 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, by husband and wife team Roy and Shelda Upshaw. The company operates a chain of fast food style Mexican restaurants.

The company is family owned and operated by Wilkins, his brothers, and their children. There are currently 7 locations throughout the Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, Alabama, area. The company specializes in making their tacos fresh once they are ordered, using fresh ingredients, which are brought to the store each day. In addition to beef tacos, the company also offers chicken tacos, soft tacos, nachos, burritos, as well as a “Chili” salad and taco burger.

Taco Casa also sells tumblers, hats, gift cards, and Koozies for cup, all with the Taco Casa logo.

On April 27, 2011 Tuscaloosa was forever changed when a devastating F4 tornado ripped a path of destruction through the heart of Tuscaloosa. Although the 15th Street location took a direct hit and was mostly destroyed, all of the employees in the store were completely unharmed. The building was restored later that same year.

The company currently has 4 locations; one in the Milvale area of Pittsburgh, the second in the Troy Hill area, one in Glenshaw, and the other in the Ross area. There are currently no franchises, however, the company hasn’t ruled this out in the future. Both delivery and takeout are available at all locations.

The company is different from other BBQ restaurants as the cooks are actually trained chefs who are certified by the Kansas City BBQ Society and often serve as judges in local competitions. Steaks and ribs are cut by hand, dressing recipes for salads are made by hand, and all BBQ sauces and marinades are made fresh each day by hand.

Brian’s Bar-B-Q did renovations, including a new roof, air conditioning, insulation and upgraded windows in 2012. The company also offers catering, sells their BBQ sauce in bottles for customers who want to take the flavor home with them, and offers daily specials every day except Friday and Saturdays.
