Isaac Langleben, Jacqueline Prehogan, and Derek Beigleman realized that they had no problem finding healthy, ethically sourced food for themselves, but they discovered that this option did not exist for their dogs.
This trio of friends founded Open Farm in 2014. The company makes sustainably sourced organic dog and cat food.
As of this writing, about 80 percent of the company’s business comes from the US. Open Farm hopes to have a positive impact on the way pet food is made, ensuring that all animals are treated ethically.
In July 2020, the company has officially partnered with Loop, a circular shopping platform developed by international recycling leader TerraCycle, as the first-ever pet food participant.
In January 2021, Open Farm received $65 million in the latest round of funding.
The company maintains a corporate office in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
