Mod Pizza was founded by Scott and Ally Svenson. The pair had sold their successful coffee chain, Seattle Coffee Company, to Starbucks in 1998. The couple decided to start their own pizza chain after being unable to find healthy pizzas for their sons.
The pizza chain is known for its individual artesian styled pizzas that cook in only 3 minutes, using an 800-degree oven. There are 9 classic pizzas, a seasonal pizza, “salad” pizza, and regular salads to choose from. The company also offers handmade milkshakes, fountain drinks, and beer.
MOD stands for Made on Demand. In 2015, the company raised $70 million in investment capital to fund an aggressive growth strategy.
In January 2017, the company celebrated the opening of its 200th location.
Forbes listed Mod Pizza as the Fastest Growing Restaurant in America in February 2018.
Headquarters for Mod Pizza are located in Seattle, Washington.

I ordered pizza from a San Antonio location today, 7/31/22. An hour after ordering my pizza, I finally got it; cold. The GM at first did not want to help me as “it was delivered via 3rd party”, I call BS. Then my husband was eating his pizza, after we had to heat it up and there was a staple in the pizza! This is extremely dangerous and not okay. I will no longer be going to MOD anymore, which is a shame because my son, is lactose intolerant and allergic to dairy, and this is the only restaurant around that offers that type of pizza.

Hello,
It is very unfortunate I have to reach out to Headquarters to have some action done on an issue that happened at your location.
Incident date: August 18, 2021
Location: 1330 Fry Rd. Houston TX 77084
Time: 8:00 pm CST (approximate)
My daughter works at this location and has taken pride in her employment, she enjoys MOD and always made sure to be punctual and be responsible to take other shifts.
However, this date while my daughter was at the back of the MOD kitchen my daughter was with Phill Marrero, one of her co-workers. He places his hand on her back and she twice told him not to touch her. He proceeded to walk next to her all while still having his hand on her back and she screamed at him to release her. She ran to the restroom and called us to pick her up while she was crying hysterically and refused to exit the restroom. She then proceeded to call one of the other workers (Melanie Garza) who notified Thomas Robinson (night manager at that time). My daughter also reached out to Grady Cobb and he said he would take care of it the next day. I arrived and Thomas Robinson was still just helping the front (understandable) he never checked on my daughter and never acknowledged me being there. We left that night thinking everything will be taken care of.
This is the 5th day my daughter is stressed overwhelmed and hardly no sleep. I continue to applaud her for making the right choice in speaking out and she still doesn’t understand why there is so much retaliation against her and other people that have reported Phill Marrero. The next day she was forced to watch Grady Cobb have a conversation outside the MOD establishment with Phill Marrero and shake and hug as if this was not a big concern. Then Grady Cobb walks in and looks at my daughter says there is no way he is getting fired.
She was then told she can leave for the day after only working 2 hours while Phill Marrero was working that night. My daughter left that night then the next morning was told all her hours were going to Phill Marrero and that she is not longer able to go to MOD.
How is this at any point acceptable? How will she ever speak up again knowing you all never took care of this and she had to deal with so much backlash from the ones who should have reported it all.
I am not stopping here and will start reporting to BBB as well. She no longer is working at that location and was told to stay quiet and not mention anything else to anyone. She has also been asked if she goes back she will have to work around Phill Marrero and might as well not go back. Now we have to adjust to drive her several other locations because no one understands this is unacceptable harassment behavior.
Ashleigh Maynard says
This is absolutely horrendous and I am so sorry, that your daughter had to experience that. Please let her know, none of this is her fault and to keep sticking up for her self!

On 3/30/2020 around 11:30am I visited the Pioneer Crossing location off of Shaw Road in Puyallup. There was nobody in line and as I walked up to place an order a girl yelled over to me saying that it will be at least 25 minutes wait because they had alot of online orders that had to make first. There was only 1 other person sitting at the table. There was 2 employees in the store. This was my first time visiting this location and I was disappointment for their level of customer service with a negative greeting. I understand they are busy with online orders, but you don’t yell over to your customers letting them know that walk in customers are not important and that online orders take priority. Not good customer service and some people skills coaching. Of course I left as it was a very poor first experience.

I was writing to give a company heads up and didn’t have to read the comments to see the cracks in MOD’s model, however, it seems a moot point after I have perused them.
The bigger they are the harder they fall.

I went to MOD pizza on vintage park 01/15/2020 around 9pm and the guy who had earring was so rude to us. When we advised him of the type of pizza we wanted he prepared it and tossed it to get it cooked. I then advised him that i wanted add ons and the guy said that we didn’t say anything. So unprofessional because he did not ask us if we wanted to add anything else to our pizza. I’ve visited there before and never had an issue till yesterday.

I have contacted Mod on three occasions with a comeback with an assistant manager. The lack of response is very telling to how they allow their employees to behave. I was emailed that my concern was being shared, but I never heard back. I deserve an apology, and the offer for a free pizza is meaningless to me. Very disappointed. Will not return.

Concern…not comeback??♀️

What do they say when you called them

I ate lunch with my husband at the MOD pizza location in Simi Valley, CA for the first time yesterday (Sunday 12/22/2019).
The food was great but my debit card was STOLEN from your employee, Andy (Andres) Valerio from the Simi Valley, CA store yesterday to purchase a case of beer at a nearby liquor store.
He was arrested at the MOD Pizza location in Simi Valley on Sunday December 22, 2019 at approx. 4:13pm. Booking # 2097548, Report # 19-64187
He was booked at approx. 5:13pm and then released at 6:04pm.
Case # 2019041447
Court Date scheduled for February 25.
I spent $29.26 at the Simi Valley location yesterday and I tipped this guy $3.51 (Spent $32.77).
I would at least like to get my tip money back.
I will be going to my bank today to see about getting the $24 back for what Mr. Valerio spend on beer illegally with my debit card.
I hope that your company takes this gentleman’s termination of employment into consideration.

I am very disappointed in the MOD pizza in CaryPark, Cary in N.C. the staff and managers are quitting due to work place arguments and disrespect. Staff are showing up at 8:30 and the managers aren’t showing up to open til 11am to let them in. During that time it is often cold and wet outside. Staff are complaining that they won’t be getting paid for sitting outside for those hours. For showing up on time. They are getting paid. That’s illegal. I consider that a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I was fired for whistleblowing, harassed and berated at my job, I was exploited, treated terribly and tried to talk to my district manager, HR rep, and no one ever listened to my situation.
If you care about employees and “being mod” then why did y’all do nothing for my well being while being employed there?
Might as well close down your HR department if they’re not gonna do anything for the hardworking employees that make Scott his money.
I was bribed by moss to do jobs multiple times and was never given what was promised to me. I was berated in front employees and when I asked him to stop he said “it’s my restaurant, i can say whatever the hell i want”
I have never worked harder at any job.. I gave MOD my everything since the moment I got there. and in the end I was just as replaceable as they made me felt.
Stand true to your core values.
and don’t forget your workers make you money. not managers who stay in BOH all day.

Several months ago I bought pizzas in Vernon Hills, IL that totalled about $19.00 and gave the cashier a gift card for $30.00. All he said you’re good-no change. My stupidity and his dishonesty. I’ll never buy another Mod pizza.

This is the 4th time I have contacted Mod Pizza about a problem and no one has contacted me back I will no longer go to Mod pizza.
