I have been a customer of MidwayUSA for many years and would like you to see the result of an issue I had with your Black Friday flyer that I received. I was trying to buy an item in the flyer on the last day of the sale. Every other item in the flyer was still on sale except the one I was trying to purchase. When I contacted your customer support there was a long exchange of emails with the end result being that I was denied the sales price. The following are the emails from this exchange. The savings would have amounted to $50. For a $50 “win”, MidwayUSA has lost a lifetime of purchases and created ill will that will echo for a long time in many, many forums. Apparently, to your “Customer Service” rep, it really doesn’t sound like that means anything at all to MidwayUSA.

I have a black Friday catalog with Product #: 365564
Champion Center Mass Steel 3/8″ AR500 14″x4″ Auto-Reset Silhouette Target at $69.95 bit the website won’t give that price, it shows $119. It is now Dec 2nd which shows right on the face of the catalog as the last day to order.

Dear John,
Thank you for your email.
I have looked into the product in question and the Black Friday sale ended on 12/02/19 at midnight. In other words, the sale ended just as 12/02/19 began. I do apologize for the confusion and any inconvenience.
Thanks for Your Business!

That’s not correct. If you say an item is on sale until 12/2/2019, the sale must end at midnight of 12/2/2019 not 12/1/2019. That is false/deceptive advertising. What your flyer said was the sale ends 12/2/2019 and, oddly enough, EVERY other item on sale was STILL on sale except the one I wanted, can you please explain that?
Thanks.

Dear James,
Thank you for your email response. I do apologize, in one aspect you are correct, the Black Friday sales did end on 12/2/2019 at midnight, on the other hand the flyer that you were looking at was not our black Friday Sale Flyer. That flyer was our regular monthly flyer, for the month of November, with an expiration date of 11/30 2019. We did not send out a Black Friday flyer, but we did advertise that Black Friday sale on that black banner in the November flyer.
I am sorry if that is confusing, it was not intended to confuse anyone.
With all of that said, the sale price for November on product #365564 was $69.95, and that price did expire on 11/30/2019 at midnight.
I do apologize for the frustration and confusion this has caused you.
Thanks
Glenda

Again, I’m afraid you are mistaken. I have a flyer that says MidwayUSA BLACK FRIDAY SALE which shows it ends on Dec 2nd. The sale price was $69.95 in this flyer. If you like I can send you the image of the flyer with the item in question.

Dear James,
Thank you for your email reply, I sincerely apologize for the frustration caused in regard to our monthly flyer. After looking into your request, it does appear that the flyer included Black Friday Sale Information; however, this product was only on sale because of the monthly sale flyer promotion. You are welcome to provide photos of the flyer for further review by our team. Unfortunately at this time however we are unable to offer the sales price. I apologize for the confusion caused, please let us know if there is
Thanks for Your Business!

OK, since you insist on inferring that I am either uneducated or dishonest, I am sending you the pictures of my flyer.
This was not a big deal to me before, but now it is.
First, I would like this issue transferred to a supervisor in your department. If you cannot supply me with a supervisor, I will find the highest person in your company with whom I can speak regarding this issue and show them our email history.
Second, here is the website of the Federal Trade Commission complaint department regarding false/misleading advertising (ftccomplaintassistant.gov/GettingStarted?NextQID=203&Url=%23%26panel1-6&SubCategoryID=0#crnt).
Here is the Better Business Bureau website: bbb.org/us/mo/columbia/profile/sporting-goods-retail/midwayusa-0734-110166843/customer-reviews
Barring a satisfactory outcome to this issue, complaints will be filed.
Third, I am thoroughly shocked to see the level of resistance to common customer service regarding this matter and I hope it does not degrade from here.

Dear James,
Thank you for your email with photos of our November monthly flyer. I apologize for any confusion that this may have caused you and all of the frustration that you have experienced as well. That black Black Friday banner was just a notice letting everyone know of when our black Friday sale started and ended, and did not pertain to any of the items in the flyer. If you look at the back of the flyer, we have a disclaimer that says the following: “sales prices valid starting October 25, 2019 and ending when promotional quantities are sold, but no later than November 30, 2019.” I understand the confusion at first glance, We might have benefitted from setting up that information in a different way on that flyer to avoid any frustration or confusion for our customers. I have passed on this issue to our marketing team for them to review the set up of our flyers to ensure no complications can occur in the future. In regards to the sale you had been referring to, that sale had unfortunately ended on the 30th with the rest of the sales flyer items and the product was not part of the actual black Friday sale. In saying this, we would not be able to honor that sales flyer price as that has expired. I sincerely apologize for all off the hassle and disappointment this has caused you over the past few days. Please let us know if there is anything else we can look into and we would be more than happy to do so!
Thanks for Your Business!

I purchase a Vortex Viper Scope from your company this past week
Which i really like when I receive it
So I decided that I was going to order another one
So when I got back on line to order another one a special offer code came up which was 64564 for free mounts for this scope if order between 4/30/2019 and 10/24/2019
This offer code didn’t come up when I order the first time or I would have put it in
The Scope that I bought did qualify for this promotion
I would like to have those free Mounts for the Scope I purchase .
Thanks for your time
