Knoebels Amusement Resort, often simply called Knoebels, was founded on July 4, 1928 by Henry Knoebel. Originally known as Peggy’s Farm, the Knoebel family farm had a small creek and swimming hole, which was popular with those seeking a picnic afternoon. The Knoebel family offered food, hand-made ice cream, and horse drawn hay filled wagon rides. The company’s official opening featured a borrowed steam powered merry go round and a few food stands,
Today, Knoebels has 63 rides, 6 roller coasters, and 2 water rides. The park offers free admission, with clients paying only for the rides they wish to enjoy and food. Unlike many other amusement parks, there is also free parking and free picnic facilities. Knoebels is still family owned and operated by the Knoebel family.

My fiance and I took my grandchildren to kanobles this week. The 12th until the night of the 15th f July. We were suppose to stay until the 16th. We staid at a bed and breakfast when we went to breakfast on the 13th we were told by the cook how the food time chart worked so when we followed it on Wednesday the cook for that day talked rude to me and told me if my party was not right down we would not be feed. I went down the same time on Thursday and she was upset again I told her I was doing what I was told the nice cook from Tuesday told her she told me to come at this time. Even after that the lady wanted our orders right away and we could not even look at the menu we all felt very rushed and unwelcomed. The showers were cold they only gave us pool passes for two days and never restocked the with toilet trees. Then that night we found a bat under my granddaughters bed so we left. There way to fix it was just to say they were sorry. Then they still wanted me to pay for our last day and did not even offer us a refund.

I returned home today from my worse trip ever to Knoebels. We have been going there over 20 years and this just may be my last. We have met wonderful friends at the campground sad to say all those families no longer camp there. You allow a family reunion to take up most of the street and they do whatever they want. Security is useless as they dont listen. You threatened to throw them out but never did. Families left early and MANY complained but to no avail. The park was family friendly but not to me anymore. The grass was not cut at my spot but nobody showed up. The Hornets nest in the power box was never corrected either. The main thing is this nasty (not the word I’d use) New York family. My family wants to retain our spot but I will no longer be on it. I also feel I wasted my money this year. The employees can only do so much but without Corporate doing its job in not letting these trouble makers come back you will just continue to lose good people. Sadly disappointed.
