Grandy’s was founded by two high school friends who were working together at a cafeteria. This pair decided that they wanted to create a restaurant that not only had comfort foods like a cafeteria but had service people could count on.
The restaurant chain was sold several times over the years and was eventually sold to Captain D’s, LLC, in 2011. Currently, the company has 50 locations, with most of them in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas area. The restaurant chain offers comfort foods and traditional American meals, such as fried chicken, mashed potates, and chicken fried steaks.
Grandy’s is perhaps best known for it’s fried chicken dinners, although the company is open for breakfast and lunch as well. Headquarters are now located in Nashville, Tennessee.

I went thru the drive-thru Grandys located at 1345 El Paseo Rd, Las Cruces, NM 88001, the drive-thru speaker was broken so waited along with other customers to get up to the window today and was told by female Grandys employee that they out of food and and they were closing, I stated to this person that they need to put a sign so we are not wasting our lunch period waiting , she responded that there was nothing she could do and to leave her drive-thur I will never go back to another Grandys after this experience!

I was employed by Grandys as an Assit . Mangaer from June of 1981 to Feb.1982,I was unjustly fired because the manager was a Loser by the name of Jerry Gore, the District Manager who was Al Flores asked me one day why nobody listened to or respected Jerry Gore,I told him the truth that all the employees just didn’t like working for him ,he was too hyper and a pain in the butt.Later that week I was fired for no reason, probably because I wasn’t loyal to a Loser,I got a job with Long John silvers and went to Tulsa to work an then went with Long Johns out to Costa Mesa Ca.Plus I think Jerry gore was stealing money and he faked the inventory for a few months to cover his stealing,I also think Al flores the Dist. Manger was also eventually fired for stealing.

I walked in order lunch and use the restroom. I am told the restroom is not open to the public. I asked even if I’m a paying customer. Amanda D. Said yes. I asked for her manager name and nu.ber. She states she in the manager. I said your supervisor she said no I am not giving you her information. I said corporate number. She said no I am not giving that go online. I walked around took pictures of store location for the info that I asked for and Amanda is Hispanic would not provide. Than another employee who is AA states you mad because you cant use the bathroom. We only have 1 bathroom and because of covid you get yo food and go. I asked for her name she said I am not giving you my name. There is a AA male there as well. No one is wearing name tags. I can just describe ethnicity. There are signs outside that says no restroom. Usually it’s for non-payiny customers. To say it isn’t open for covid. Place of business is allowes walk ins, wait in line, place an order, and there is no sign stating a maximum of customers in the building. This isn’t a covid issue. This is a inhumane issue. I work just like everyone else. I treat people kindly and with respect I go above and beyond for my PATIENTS. To be mistreated, your employees were behaving irate over I asking may I have the information I needed to call this in. I never file complaints but, this time has drawn the line. I called the number on this site and even the phone number is disconnected?
I took pictures of store location. I will continue to post and look for the information every single day until someone responds to me.

I went to Grandy’s drive thru in Sherman, Texas on 7/5/2020 for lunch. I ordered a 3pc. chicken meal(all thighs) and a medium dr. pepper. It was $10 and some change. When I got home I had mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese. I called Grandy’s and I guess they were manager (didn’t say). She didn’t apologize at all. She gave phone to employee who took my order and she just argued w/ me saying she made order right which is a lie. She said next time I’m by they will give me a side of baked beans. THERE WILL ABSOLUTELY NO NEXT TIME FOR ME AND I’M GOING TO TELL EVERYONE I COME INTO CONTACT WITH HOW HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THERE AND FOOD HAS GONE DOWNHILL. I’m finding somewhere else to eat from now on.

I’m sure I probably won’t get help with this as I have been dealing with this problem for well over a year without any help from Redbox, but I thought I would try this forum. I am unable to reserve movies online from my laptop computer, iPhone, and iPad. I have called Redbox a million times and not one person has been able to help me! I have spent HOURS on the phone trying to get this problem resolved without success! Most of the time I keep being told Redbox is having technical difficulties. I have a bunch of free movie vouchers that I have been unable to use because I can’t rent the movie!! Yet, they keep giving me more free movies for my time and problems and saying I can use it at the box. Well problem is, when I get to the box, the movie I want to rent is not there–it’s already been rented online by someone that was able to reserve it!!! The customer service is horrible and I have been told over and over that they will get their IT department to help me and NO ONE calls me back!! Horrible business practices and customer service!!! Why can’t this be fixed??? I have stopped renting movies from you and taken my business elsewhere to where they actually care about customers and have no problem at all with helping their customers if they have a problem! Something Redbox might want to think of doing if they want to stay in business and not loose any more customers!!

I’ve been eating at Grandy’s since 1983 at mutiple locations. In the past year mutiple locations have closed and reopened with disasteous results. The people you now have working at Northwest Hwy and Town East Blvd., Should not represent this long favored home style food and company. I would say that you are on your way to shutting down. I’m sure your clientele has diminished since this takeover. Its unfortunate that management comes in with there bright ideas and destroy a franchise. It wasn’t broke, now it is!

I had one of the worse experiences dealing with a Grandy’s in my life, and I have been going for over 30 years. I was threatened in the parking lot at this location at 8904 N. Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, TX 75247 before I went into the restaurant by a panhandler that tried to take my wallet from me. After I went to order, I order 2 piece dark chicken with corn and mashed potatoes, and chicken fried steak, okra and mashed potatoes. (I was very concerned about ordering, because it was dirty inside and seemed to be a conflict between owner of gas station and the person in the restaurant, that I was told were related)However, when I got home, the chicken was dried out and not warm at all. (I know what this chicken is suppose to look like as I go to Grandys on RL Thornton every Sunday). The chicken was worse ever, and not even edible. The mashed potatoes were not anywhere like the ones at the other Grandys I have visited for over 30 years. The chicken fried steak and corn were the only items edible, and the rolls were as if they came out of a package into the bag my food was in. Worse experience ever at a Grandys and this place should not be allowed to be in business under your name and logo.

Greenville Texas location is a complete disappointment.
This cannot be a Grandy’s. Grandy’s is one of my family’s favorite restaurants. This Grandy’s is horrible. The rolls are store bought rolls. The chicken fried steak was not fresh and seemed to be cooked twice to reward it. Every Table in the restaurant was dirty. I had to clean our table. The floors are nasty and the bathroom is filthy. The health department needs to go to this restaurant and Grandy’s corporate office need to be contacted. Grandy’s name should not be associated with this place.

Please ask some who is interested in a franchise to bring Grandy’s back to Champaign-Urbana, il. Please, we miss Grand’s so so so much. Love the food. They would do great here again we are a campus town and the twin cities have grown so much.

I visited the location on Green Oaks in Arlington, TX , I bought 3 meals and extra rolls which came out to $32 and some change. The staff made my food exactly the way I wanted, however it was not edible. The chicken fried steak was so dang greasy it was unreal, they gave me old mashed potatoes which had spoiled and tasted like dirty dish water and the rolls were almost burnt to the point that I took pictures because I knew no one would believe me if I didn’t. I kind of understand not know the food was spoiled and the steak seemed like it was marinated in grease, but to knowing give out rolls that were almost burnt to a crisp that you can clearly see is not acceptable at all I will never go to that Grandy’s again and I’m a frequent customer because it’s on my way home. So I called the manager to let her know what happened and this lady told me she can only give me 20% off of my $32 order if I had the receipt!!!!! So she would only give 20% off of what turned out to be dog food. So I have to eat the cost as a customer because they were lazy and chose to serve disgusting food to the public, UNACCEPTABLE AS I TYPE I’M GETTING EVEN MADDER YOU’VE JUST LOST A LOYAL CUSTOMER

I VISITED GRANDY’S IN MONROE, LOUISIANA AT THE LOUSIVILLE LOCATION AT APPROX 4:30PM TODAY 1/23/18. PURCHASED A 2 PIECE CHICKEN DINNER/ ROLLS WITH A VISA FOR MY MOTHER. UPON GETTING TO MY DESTINATION WICH WAS 15 MINUTES AWAY, DISCOVERED THAT THE ROLLS WERE HARD. I DISREGARDED THAT AND DECIDED SHE WOULDN’T EAT THOSE, I THEN HAD TO TEAR THE CHICKEN OFF OF THE BONE IN ORDER FOR HER TO BE ABLE TO EAT IT DUE TO HER CONSISTENCY OF INTAKE. THE CHICKEN WAS SO HARD MOST OF IT WAS JUST DRIED DARK SKIN AS THOUGH IT HAD SET UNDER THE LIGHT FOR SEVERAL HOURS. I DECIDED TO TAKE THE MEAL BACK. I CALLED FIRST TO THE LOCATION AND INFORMED THEM OF MY COMPLAINT. I ARRIVED AT APPROX 5:05PM BACK AT GRANDY’S. I EXPLAINED AGAIN THE SITUATION. AN EMPLOYEE STATED SHE COULD NOT REPLACE THE CHICKEN , BUT SHE COULD REPLACE THE SIDES BECAUSE THE CHICKEN WAS IN PIECES. I ASKED THE EMPLOYEE TO FEEL OF THE MEAT AND SHE COULD SEE THAT IT WAS HARD AS WELL AS THE ROLLS. SHE STILL REFUSED TO REPLACE THE CHICKEN I ASKED FOR THE MANAGER. SHE SAID HER NAME WAS LAURA FOSTER. I SHOWED HER THE PLATE SHE TOO REPLIED IN THE SAME MANNER. I ASKED HER TO FEEL OF THE FOOD. SHE ASKED FOR THE RECIEPT, WHICH WAS GIVEN TO HER. SHE SAID “THE ROLLS ARE HARD, BUT I CANT REPLACE THE CHICKEN LIKE THAT” I ASKED IF SHE THOUGHT I WOULD WASTE MY TIME COMMING BACK HERE IF I WAS SATISFIED WITH THIS MEAL. IT WASNT FIT TO EAT. THE CHICKEN AND THE ROLLS ARE OLD. LAURA STATED WE DON’T SELL OLD CHICKEN AND I’M NOT GOING TO SIT HERE AND LET YOU CALL ME A LIER NOW I CAN REPLACE THE SIDES, BUT I CANT REPLACE THE CHICKEN. “. I STATED TO HER THAT I HAVE EATEN AT GRANDY’S AND HAS EATEN FRIED CHICKEN HERE BEFORE AND WAS AWARE OF IF CHICKEN HAD BEEN UNDER THE LIGHT FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME AND WHEN IT WASN’T. AGAIN I RECIEVED THE SAME RESPONSE. I THEN INFORMED HER THAT SHE COULD HAVE THE ENTIRE PLATE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT FIT TO EAT. I LEFT THERE VERY UNSATISFIED WITH THE SERVICES AND THE MEAL. IT MAY NOT BE ANYTHING TO BE DONE FOR ME NOW, BUT THOSE TO COME AFTER DESERVES BETTER SERVICE AND A MEAL WORTH THEIR MONEY.. I WANT BE EATING THERE AGAIN.
