Fox’s Pizza Den was founded in 1971 by Jim Fox in Pitcairn, Pennsylvania. With a $500 investment, Fox sold out all pizzas made the first day within the first 6 hours of opening. The company operates a chain of pizza restaurants across the US. All of the 280 locations, found in 28 states, are franchised. The company consistently ranks in the Top 25 pizza restaurants in the world.
In 2002 Jim Fox was named by the Small Business Administration as one of the country’s top entrepreneurs. Today, however, many of the franchises have closed due to bad business practices. This has lead to the SBA discontinuing lending money for new Fox Pizza franchises.
Fox’s Pizza Den, in addition to pizza, also offers sandwiches, stomboli, Hoagies, and salads.
At a time when other restaurant and pizza chains are closing, Fox’s Pizza Den continues to add new franchises, such as in Pennslyvania, and Ohio.
Company headquarters are located in Murrysville, Pennsylvania.

The menu for wings states it has 8 piece and 16 piece wings. But the it also states 1/2 and 1 lb of wings below it. But then on the on-line order it has 8 piece and 16 piece and nothing about 1/2 and 1 lb. So when I had ordered on-line, 8 piece wings and only got 6 piece I was told they only do 1/2 and 1 lb for wings and they weigh them out. So when it comes down to it, you place and order on-line for 8 pieces and only get 6 pieces, you pay for 8, which is what is on the receipt. That does not look good. If you pay for 8 you should get 8.

A place to order with Foxes Pizza den in Keyssr spent $25 they screwed up my order terribly one thing out of four was great after waiting 25 minutes in the store while 20 people walked by not one person stopped and asked if I needed any help or if I was taken care of. There was about 25 people running all over the place . There was a redhead manager in the back making pizzas there was a tall older fella standing up front as a manager I had ordered pies and biscuits it took them 25 minutes and then the young man forgets to drop him when the girl asks him I have never seen a place more unorganized more displaced your people need a whole lot of training I was never disappointed as I was getting that order so thanks for ruining my dinner really truly appreciate it

I have experienced the worst when ordering from my home town den tonight. Upon arriving i was behind two teenage girls in line whom were picking up a order as well.
They left with their order and moments later the one team member ran out the door and came back in with their order in hand.
Then placing it on counter acting as if nothing was wrong as I had observed they then picked up the order and brought it to me and I imedetly refused caused i new what was happening. I am very bothered that this took place and asked if they could notify their boss cause I needed this brought to their attention. The main reason we are undergoing Covid 19 and its in its fullest in our area and then have this happen. The manager on the phone was agreeing this shouldn’t have happened and I expressed my feelings and hung up. I won’t ever be back I am also reporting to our health department tommorow.

Ordered a 12 cut from vandegrift foxs…upon taking it out of the oven he almost dropped it in the garbage cam instead it caught the side of the wall… melted cheese was stringy running down the wall from the pizza… he still put it in the box cut it up and handed it to me. Gonna be a long time before I go back there.

I just wanted to email you a complaint…I picked up a big daddy pizza from the vandergrift Fox’s pizza location on Friday 2/28/20 about 7:45pm. The pizza had extra cheese on I/2 and the other 1/2 had onions and banana peppers. The peppers and onions were just put on the pizza and not cooked in it, they were cold, it was disgusting. When I called to speak with someone about this all they said was “sorry”. That is very poor customer service, and you will loose customers with employees like that. I hope you will make this right by either giving me my money back or a replacement pizza since I couldn’t eat the one I have purchased.
I hope to hear from you soon regarding this.

I am not very confident this will be read…. I see a bunch of bad replies up there and very few good. I tried to order online last week and I waited and it never came. I registered and it doesn’t come up when I try to use that account. Tonight I ordered as guest and when I hit proceed it locked up. So… even though I usually order from Pizza Hut with no problem, I’m a bit tired of them so I called in an order. They hung up without asking for my credit card info so with no cash on hand… how am I supposed to pay them? Very unprofessional both on the internet, and human side. If this pizza and wings isn’t great… it will be the last time I go to the trouble.

I will not be ordering from your Zionsville Indiana store any more. And we were very good customers. The last three orders were not right even though the were read back to me right when ordered. Even though they promised to make it right they never did. The turnover In employees is unbelievable and they are always very rude over the phone.

The treatment i got was not right.

I had been a big fan of foxes pizza in Butler, Pa. Went there all the time when they were on Penn Street. Was sorry to see them leave a few years ago, but delighted to see them open up again in Lyndora, Pa. And when my grandson Ethan got his first job there I was thrilled. But apparently one of the bosses, Brian, didn’t care for my grandson and started giving him a hard time, But he hung in there, hoping it would get better. Well imagine my shock when my grandson informed us that “Brian” started asking him personal questions about his sex life and his life with his girlfriend. The things he asked him I still cant believe. I am still in shock. My grandson is 16 years old ! I worked in retail my whole life and something like this would never haved happened, and if it did I would have been fired, or fired the person responsible for this. I will no longer be going to Foxes.

I just ordered from the DuBois location. I ordered a taco salad and had to drain the water from it, it was the worst salad I ever ate. Since the new owners took over it has gone down hill with service and quality.

All I read on here is bashing of Fox’s. Nobody ever has anything nice to say on these public forums. I wanna set things right. Fox’s are independently owned businesses and it is the owners themselves that need to be told about issues. Beyond this every time someone gets an order with 1 thing wrong all of sudden it was the WORST food ever sold in America. Every single item in my order was Burnt to point that I couldnt even cut it. There was only 1 piece of pepperoni on my big daddy kinda nonsense. And no employees, managers, or owners are ever considerate. None ever help any of you. They’re all rude nasty individuals. There was even 1 person on here going on about the owner going on 2 vacations in a single year. What a crock of crap folks. These owners shell out 10s or even hundreds of thousands of dollars to begin each unit and continue shelling out thousands each month to own one of these. They are not in the business of screwing over the very people they are serving. Face facts. People in general dont wanna work in this country today and owners lack a lot of choices when hiring employees. This is not in any way an excuse. It is fact non fiction. The foxs in Jeannette is a great store. It was a bit rocky in the beginning but she survived her first year and they have been open every day of the week from 11 am till at least 10 PM. Their food is fantastic and they are quick in deliveries. The owner herself constantly cutting her customers breaks primarily because she serves an underprivileged community. The staff she has there is dedicated and they work hard to push out high quality food. If a customer does indeed have an issue the owner herself calls them and works to rectify the situation. And I’ve read posts after all that where those same people continue to bash that store. Perhaps we should all go back to old philosophy that we were taught from our mothers. If you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all. Cause this bashing nonsense simply isnt working. Trying to ruin someone’s livelihood just because your food was cold. If you all can do it so much better perhaps you should invest 100 grand of your money and show the rest of us how it’s done.
Roger Ison says
Then perhaps corporate needs to provide training or better training with these so-called operators. The local franchise is ran the worst of any franchise I have seen. When trying to contact and express concerns, they blow you off and are rude. Poor business practices. I was in customer service over 15 years and would have lost my job if I ever treated customers the way this company’s franchisees apparently operate. The corporate office needs to be made aware of this. If this is the only way, so be it!
Luci says
I actually work here now. I was told I’d be making 9/hr, and instead I make 7.50. I’ve gotten little to no training, and they kinda just expected me to know beforehand. I quit my old job for this. I’m not sure if it was worth it.
Pamela Goodliff says
Unacceptable. As a customer pays for a service and good they expect to receive what they pay for. Not just food. Accuracy, consistency, are also being paid for. No one orders their food to be burnt, incorrect, or cold. That is the decision of owner/employee to judge if it meets all standards they are selling you and agreeing to when they accept payment. These owners/employees need to understand that people do not NEED them. Ordering takeout food is a convenience and not a necessity. No questions asked. It’s called customer service. Do the job you were paid to do and you will have repeat happy customers. If not, then be prepared to correct them or go out of business. Just because someone “shells” out their own money to open a business become acceptable to ask customers to “shell” out their hard earned money and accept what is given to them if it is unsatisfactory. It is dishonest to knowingly send burnt, incorrect, or mussing

Amanda says
Hello my name is Amanda. I wish I was writing this message to you under better circumstances, but unfortunately I am writing this message to complain 🙁
( Which I honestly never do.. believe it or not)
I want to start off by saying that I love Fox’s pizza I actually grew up eating Fox’s pizza quite often due to my mom, my aunt and uncle owning a Fox’s pizza den in New Brighton Pennsylvania, many years ago. I believe that you guys have the best steak salads out of any other pizza places around. Which is s why I was so disappointed on Saturday.. I order the same thing for myself every time that I order ((Which happens to be a steak salad with double meat, double fries and extra cheese.)) I order the double everything’s so that I can share with by son whom also loves steak salads. This last time that I ordered was Saturday March 16th.
The steak salad that I received was very disappointing because the steak was COMPLETELY burnt. It was little tiny pieces, COMPLETELY WAY OVERCOOKED very hard and honestly unedible. The potato wedges (French fries) were not even done.
Now I know that this is not a huge deal or anything and like I said before I usually don’t complain but what really got me upset is whenever I called in the man whom I talked to was very rude to me. Of course, I could not get the name of the person whom I was speaking with which I’m pretty sure was the same person who took my order but I am not a 100% he told me to call back on Monday and talk to a manager. Now mind you this was me in my son’s dinner so I was pretty upset, but I did so! Today is Monday so I called in (like I was told to) and the employee whom answered the phone ((who also would not give me his name)) told me that because there is no note written down with my name on it and my issue that there’s nothing that they could do and hung up on me. I think that this was very ignorant and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!
I feel like something should be done I definitely feel like I should at least get what I ordered that I paid over $13 for ((a new steak salad)) with meat that is not as hard as a rock and totally burnt, and fries that are actually cooked fully.. but Most importantly I think that somebody should teach this man some kind of customer service skills. I’ve worked customer service my whole life, I’ve managed 3 different restaurants and I would never tolerate one of my employees talking to or treating a customer that way and also not compensating the customer, If deserved. I’ve also NEVER in my life talked to one of my customers that way.
I was a returning customer who ordered same thing 2 times in the past week. I usually pick up my food when I order that way I can look at it right there. I’m also a customer who orders a steak salad at least once a week, because like I mentioned previously steak salads are my absolute favorite, and after moving back to beaver county I pretty much order steak salads whenever we go out to eat… My husband actually just recently got out of the military and we were stationed in Fort Lewis Washington then lived in Texas. Washington nor Texas have steak salads, ANYWHERE!! So, yes I order steak salads anytime I can lol.. I’m sorry for ranting on and on, I’m just legitimately upset about this and very disappointed.
I would love to hear back from someone about this matter. Honestly any response would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much for taking time out of your day to read this. I am looking forward to hearing from you and resolving this matter so that I can still order from Fox’s pizza because at the moment I don’t think that they deserve my business! I was told to call back on Monday because it was late, I understood and I did NOT complain. Yet when I call back I get laughed at and told that because someone didn’t write down my name and my issue there’s nothing that ANYONE can do… not cool.

Nothing on their phone ….. just rings and rings until you’re disconnected. So, I drove by (on my way to a competitor) 10 minutes later and their closed!!! Not a light on in the place, with No sign on door or window as to being closed for good or temporary or anything!!
I understand that it’s hard right now to get “Good Employees ” but that’s NO EXCUSE to not follow thru to be Good to Your customers! Who, by the way make or break your restaurant !!!

The foxs in Scottdale pa is the worst foxs I’ve ever delt with. Their rude when they answer the phone. They don’t give you totals or times… They shouldnt have a business if their not going to run it right. The workers are ignorant and hang up on you. I’ve order from them repeatedly and today they told me I couldn’t order but they brought it then got rude and disrespectful when I told them that they said they wouldn’t bring it and they said they’ll no longer deliver to my house. Their terrible they shouldnt have their business

I have photos as proof .Very unhappy customer .

On May 11 I stopped at the Fox’s in Donegal and purchased a steak wedge.
I was told it would be about 30-35 minutes so I left and did some shopping at the Dollar General right across the road. I came back about 25 minutes later and sat in the restaurant for about 10 minutes and then the young lady came out with my order and I left. about 10 minutes later driving down the road my mom asked me if I wanted to eat part of my sandwich. I said yes and she opened it and she said, its all burnt. Its hard and crispy and I cant even cut it. I worked in a Pizza shop and I would have never ever let my cook pack up something like that and give it to a Customer. The Manager on duty should have told them to remake it. Needless to say I wasted almost $10 on something I could not eat, It was late in the evening so by the time I got something else I spent more $ and ate later. I took a picture of it and sent it to I believe the corporate office via Messenger and was informed it was sent to the Owner of the Store in Donegal. Heard nothing. Sent the picture and my complaint to the Donegal store and as of this date heard nothing. Its just downright Rude and not very business oriented to ignore your customers since we are the ones that are keeping you in business. I have a Fox’s near me where I live and have never ever had any problems with them. I will never do business again with the Donegal store. Very rude not to respond to your complaints and to do something about it.

I have issues with your jeaneette foxes. The pizza is good when they are open. There are days they never open or they close early like 5pm. Is there a reason for this? Not sure if anyone was even aware of this. Its a shame they could be making good money if they were open like a normal pizza shop. Not sure who is running this but they are doing a piss poor job.

Every time I call my local Fox’s Pizza, they never have hoggies. Because of the small town I live in, I’m limited on delivery options. I’m even more limited now that Fox’s isn’t an option. Fox’s doesn’t care about serving the community. Fox’s will never get my business again and I will be sure they do not get the money of my friends or family, not that Fox’s cares about doing business. The franchise owner in my town is Brian Ritchie. I’ve worked in restaurants, retail, customer service. The first thing any business owner should do is take care of the customer. Fox’s of Ambridge doesn’t seem to care what the customer wants.

Had friends and family over last weekend and decided to get a Pizza from the Tarentum Fox’s. BIG Daddy was a BIG MISTAKE!!!!! I’ve heard of BOGO but I got one and was charged for two! I paid with a cc and the first time they ran the charges it came up with a Chk# Error so the Fox’s employee ran it a second time and everything went thru just fine ….NOT!!! Ended up that I was charged for two Pizzas on my bank account statement (2x$28.81) when I actually only ordered and received one. After contacting the manager I was told that he would check into it and call me back, but a week later I still haven’t heard from him. Saved my receipts, contacted my bank, and waiting for my dispute to go thru. This is something that should have been handled by the manager but was left to me (the customer) instead. Needless to say there are enough Pizza shops around that I will no longer have to deal with a SLY Fox again!

My family has has horrible experiences at Fox’s. And I tried to give them a benefit of the doubt. Well today changed my opinion. I ordered a large cheese pizza, with bacon on all and black olives on half. At 800pm, was when I placed the order. Was told it would take 30-45 mins. Come 830pm I called and was told “the driver just left and your order is probably in there”. I said “probably?!?!” He said ” no it is”. Since that call my boyfriend and I were standing outside and they called at 858pm saying “trying to figure out which door is yours if you can come outside, I don’t have much time. ” We were outside until 911pm! Funny thing I’m only 0.3 miles away from the restaurant! I demanded a refund! I didn’t get the pizza. I will not be returning to ANY Fox’s, especially this one.

I have a problem with the Foxs Pizza in Hopewell Township, PA. The girl who is running is does not know how to run the business. She leaves and goes on vacation alot and doesn’t care about her employees at all. I have heard some nasty things about her and how she treats the workers and how she is running the place. Everytime you turn around her and her family are on vacation. I think this is her like…… 2nd vacation this year. You need to hire better managers to run your business. And not someone who leaves all the time and goes on vacations. You need someone who stays around and cares for their workers and doesn’t have an attitude with them. I will never go there again. I know a bunch of people who would do a better job than her. I know I could do a better job than her since I worked at a pizza place for 18+ years. And I was also a manager too.

My husband and son got pick up last night and when they arrived home with it realized the cheese bread was great but the pizza was burnt. It was gross!! Jason called and spoke with the store where he got it and they said they could do nothing unless he came back in with the pizza, we live 35 – 40 minutes away. We usually eat inside, but my son had just got out of a ball game and they wanted to go home. There was no way he was gonna drive all the way back out to Kingsport to show them this pizza. He offered to send a picture but they said that would not work. I’m a manager at one of the busiest sit down restaurants in town and this is not how you treat your guest. Fyi. I do have pictures if you want to see the pizza I had to throw out because it didn’t get ate!!

Tried to place an order at the atlasburg pa location. Never took my name, gave me a total or pick up time. Also did not honor my free appetizer from “wheel of fortune” . Then hung up on me. Called back and asked for manager and that is who I was talking to. After I complained he said it was going to be at least an hour wait. They were also rude to one of my daughters. We don’t need people like that managing a place that caters to the public. Needless to say they lost an order.

I’ve been a LOYAL customer with Berkeley Springs,WV Fox’s Pizza for years!! Here over the past few years I’ve had so many issues but tonight is what broke the camels back! The ‘child’ who took my call wad rude when I called to question the order that was delivered and heard her call me a XXXXXX while putting me on hold for the manager. When I called the place my order their music was blasting in the background and I could barely hear myself think. Then when I called back to ask about my messed up order the music was still loud and the manager was well aware because it was still playing. Just read the reviews about this place of business. As staff you look upto upper management and when you have a crooked manager what do you expect. What I dealt with tonight was unacceptable and Mark my words, I will never spend another dime in that place. They act like they are better than you and all they give is attitude. I will not stop climbing the chain until this is resolved and something is done. I’ve given this place 4 chances and this was the final one. A place of business should NEVER call anyone out of name! I’m not a XXXXXX but I’ll gladly show you what one is

Fox’s has been my favorite pizza since I was a teenager. Recently I see that political opinions are being expressed on signs in Windows. While I disagree with their opinion, I wouldn’t find it much better if I agreed with it. If this is a professional environment, I don’t expect divisive messages from the personal opinions of the store owners. While this may get a surge in business from the supporters, it will also lose many customers long term. Since this story is spreading on Facebook, the effects may not stay local. Please keep Fox’s pizza welcoming to all it’s pizza lovers.

I just ordered two salads from the location in Beaver, PA. My dad (seperately) ordered a pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. When we got there, they had lost my dads order. Not a huge deal. When I went to pay, the guy (I assume manager) apologized that they weren’t ready, as he was very busy “training”. I told him I was more concerned with the fact that the three people working weren’t wearing gloves”. He told me not to worry that they “all wash their hands”. My 10 year old tells me the same thing and I can’t prove it’s true. He said that they are in compliance with “safety regulations”. Uh, no your not. You don’t have to use gloves but you still can’t touch the food with bare hands. You have to use tongs, single use gloves, deli paper, etc. Not bare hands. Then he proceeded to used the cash register and go right back to the food. It’s a disaster waiting to happen. I won’t go back.

Your New Alexandria franchise is terrible. This is twice we ordered from there. They say 20 minutes for delivery took 45 then you get your order the chicken hoagie clearly states chicken strips on the sandwich, i got diced chicken which was so peppery it wasnt even edible for me. I went to pick up the sandwich & it completely fell apart, the bun was in pieces. That place is a joke! Its totally giving your business a bad name. Needless to say i paid for a sandwich in which i didnt even get to eat. Thanks new alex foxs…you’re outstanding! NOT!

My family and I enjoy Fox’s pizza. The one in Carnegie is getting hard to keep going to as the older gentleman is very rude. Consistently every time were call. Sometimes were lucky and Get someone else. It’s Friday night and I wanted to call to know how long they would need notice for a larger order on Sunday. This same man answered at 9:42pm “Fox’s were closed” and hung up. I Thought they were open until 10 on a Friday night. Guess I’ll call another pizza place for our party on Sunday. Very disappointed!

We ordered food from the Franklin Pa.office. We ordered a veggie wedgie. There was so much dressing on it, one side of the bread was soaking wet. We also ordered a steak sub with almost no meat. Plus we ordered a medium pizza. Which was not sent with the order. The driver had to go back to the store and get it.Your food quality went to hell. You’ll never get my money again.

Pepsi Cola has never been my choice and will lose Foxs as one of my favorite eatery. Why can’t you offer BOTH?
stephen sweeney says
I am sorry to say that we will no longer be visiting fox’s due to your change to Pepsi. My family does not like any of the choices that are offered.
Vicki Cole says
I do not drink Pepsi in any shape fashion or form. You need to switch back to Coca-Cola products

I order from the location in Brownsville fairly often and normally don’t have any issues. However, tonight we ordered a veggie pizza and specified no green peppers. When we got the pizza, it did have no green peppers, but was loaded with banana peppers, so much so, that I’d estimate the pizza had equal parts banana peppers to the rest of the toppings combined. We called them back and were told it was our fault for not telling them no banana peppers and refused to do anything. I called back requesting to speak to a manager as their menu specifically says for the veggie pizza “Banana peppers available by request only.”. The manager tried to pull the same spiel and refused to do anything until I argued about the website description. Had to argue further to get them to agree to credit the purchase.
I am not terribly surprised that they’re ignorant of what the local store’s website contains. The local menu is a pdf file of their menu flyer that expired in 2013, so I know better than to trust it for pricing info. They also haven’t updated their Facebook pace since 2014.

I ordered a large veggie pizza and boneless wings. They gave me a small pizza with parmigiano wings. This is ridiculous that they cant get the order right.

I ordered pizza from the Tarentum location. I paid almost $16 for what had to have been the worst pizza I have ever attempted to eat. It was like the cheapest frozen pizza that you can find from the nastiest store that had it in clearence. I’m sure cardboard has more flavor. I ordered a large pepperoni and a small cheese. The pizza had so little cheese that it didn’t even covere the sauce. When my husband got home, who tends to order fox’s all the time at his work and looked at it and said it doesn’t even look right, and the pepperoni doesn’t even look like the pepperoni they use. He tasted it and said the same thing as me that it tasted like nasty frozen pizza that was old and freezer burnt. I have ordered in the past I and we have never had pizza like this. Usually it is good, the crust is thicker but nope not this time, it was thinking, hard, and no flavor. I have tried to contact the store, even sent a Facebook message, which I know they read it bc it will tell you and I have never heard anything back from them. I even sent a picture and still nothing. What kind of company is this that if there is an issue you get no response?!?! I threw out $16.00 plus a $4.00 tip bc no one would eat it, it was that gross. My dog who loves you try to get table scraps didn’t even want anything to do with it, it was that bad.I don’t know if I can even bring myself to order again. Then I go to find out someone else who ordered the same day had the same issue? What kind of company is this? I mean the people in the store are rude as hell and act like it’s a bother to do their job. The delivery person was very nice and probably one of the nicest delivery people that has delivered to me.
