Credo Mobile was founded back in 1985. Originally named Working Assets, the company was founded as a business that would channel profits to fund progressive social change.
The idea was simple; each time a customer used its service to do things they would normally do each day (use long distance, check a phone number, or use a credit card) the company would send a donation to non-profit groups such as Planned Parenthood or Rainforest Action Network.
The company changed its name in 2007 to Credo Mobile. The credit card is still in use under the name Working Assets.
In 2012, the company launched the “CREDO SuperPAC. ” Unlike other super PACs, the point was not to support candidates but to oppose certain candidates.
Also unlike other corporate super PACs, CREDO SuperPAC focused more on grassroots, volunteer-driven activism than on buying television advertisements. Its stated aim was to defeat candidates affiliated with the Tea Party Movement.
In November 2016, the company announced that it was involved in a long-standing legal battle regarding NSLs.
In April 2022, Credo Mobile announced that it would set up mobile units to treat opioid addictions, overdoses, and withdrawals in rural areas.
Credo Mobile maintains a corporate office in San Francisco, California.

Rotten customer service which is why we are leaving. You should not have let Ron Hantity (sp?) go. Been on the phone 3 hours and have been treated horribly. What a joke your company is. Shevar D. is supposed to be pulling our calls to listen to them. I hope he actually gets back to us. Bye bye Credo. Hello Verizon.
