Country Financial increases yearly on all insurances it seems. After calling to cancel because of a much cheaper Insurance elsewhere, the agent then totally snubs you. This has happened to several people. He is just down right rude.
Rick Johns says
After being subjected to one premium increase after another for the last three years at each and every renewal, I cancelled my Country policies (3) and switched to another company, saving myself $600/year.
When I ordered the CLUE claims report to see what was on it, I was surprised to find that a “claim” had been entered when I needed a jump start for a dead battery in my garage through the roadside assistance program. This smacks of big brother and is apparently now the norm in the insurance industry, alleging they need the claims information from other companies to set rates for roadside assistance programs, even though they don’t have access similar information for setting rates on regular policies (auto, home, umbrella) from other companies. Rather, an individual insurance company uses its own policyholders’ loss history to establish rates.
For nine years I suffered through Country’s poor operations where it took hours and duplicate paper work preparation just to start the policies. Then, the call center personnel could not handle much of anything when it came to changes; those changes all had to go back to the local agent.
Christopher Dimartino says
My home owners insurance was cancelled on September 24, 2017. The insurance company (Country Financial) claims this was due to a missed signature and the home valuation for the property I was purchasing supposedly being left out. My lender with Washington First Mortgage, was able to provide the valuation of the property which is dated July 11th, 2017 and that was prepared by the Country Financial agent himself. The Country Financial agent, Mark Mattingly, after months of run around, finally produced a letter that was supposedly sent to me along with the refund check. I never received this letter and there is no proof that it was even delivered, all I received was the refund check which I did not know what it was for. I was an uneducated first time home buyer and I received a check for just over $623, and without an explanation, I assumed I paid too much in closing or title fees, like what can happen when you purchase a vehicle. $623 is .1657% of the total cost of the home, less than 1/4 of 1%. Such a small amount and with no explanation. There were no further attempts to reach me, no phone calls, no emails, no more letters, to make sure I was aware of the situation at hand. Furthermore, Country Financial claims that a letter was sent to my lien holder (Flagstar Bank) but Flagstar does not have any record of a letter or any form of contact from Country Financial. The only reason this was caught is because Flagstar did an assessment of my escrow account in July of 2018, almost a full year after the policy was cancelled. The agent (Mark) never set up an original appointment to meet and sign papers and he never once contacted me (email, mail, or phone call) regarding any issues with my insurance. I have asked a number of times for proof of contact and there is none. I finally got current insurance in the amount of $1,428.46 however, due to this lack of care by Mark Mattingly, Flagstar applied a lender placed insurance to my loan with a cost of $2,951.10 that I have to pay back. There has been no damage or insurance claims on the property and I told Mark and his supervisor(s) I am willing to sign any kind of waiver stating this and repay the refunded amount of $623 just to get them to back date the insurance for the time in which it was cancelled so I can avoid the lender placed insurance but they are not willing to do so.

We have been with Country Co. for over forty years….we are responsible people not Scam
Artists….As you know we filed a claim three years ago do to storm damage in our neighborhood….our neighbors on both sides had damage to their roof and their insurance
helped them..Two roofers came out and said we had damage but your adjuster said our roof was in good condition…
Now three years later we have a lot of damage..our roofer said this was not an overnight happening water has been coming in for years..
We believe if it was taken care of three years ago we would not be dealing with this expense…
we just wanted to let you know how disappointed we are…the adjuster we recently talked to
blew us off and said our roof was old (it is around 20 yr old) however you said it was fine three years ago!!!! Warren and Sandi Uthe

October of last year your client was apart of a 3 car accident , as we were pulling over to stop your client tried to pull off but we were able to get his license plate number. We then went to the police station to file a report and after I took my wife Margie to the hospital while being there your client mother called asking if we had filed a report and I told her yes. She goes on to say that her son had been in trouble and he would lose his license. Later that evening the police officer called us and said they had given him a ticket and they gave us his insurance information. I called and immediately the representative told us to get a lawyer and we did. We had a meeting and during the meeting he tells us they police picked back up the ticket. My wife Margie had to have therapy and even up to this moment she is still having back pain and still take pain medication. I myself had some discomfort. Even though they paid our medical they are refusing to pay for my damages to my car and the representative is saying your client car was nor damaged and refusing to pay. I will be putting in complaints with the insurance as well as BBB and I will be going to small claims court and filing a claim for the company and your clients. Because this company has no right to do what they have done. They made us feel as if we were lying and as if we didn’t matter. My insurance company called as well as my lawyer called and they still refused to pay. Your representative name is
Adjuster Stephanie Slayback
