On April 10, 2019 I was a customer at the Norcross GA dealership, in which I purchased a 2016 Genesis car, I had a Toyota Avalon that was appraised at $1500 the down payment required was $2000 therefore I had to pay $500 to equal the $2000. I used my ATM card to pay $500 that was per the sales person
Felix the CarMax salesman. The next day my card was charged an additional $500 Carmax was the only place I had used my card the name on the receipt that completed the transaction was Celeste. Please contact me concerning this matter I have information regarding the name and purchase that was made.
This made me a very unhappy customer this created a overdraft on my account
and additional charges per my financial institution, Calvin or Marilyn Thomas can be reached at 770-808-XXXX.

I had a good experience when I purchased my first car at CarMax, everyone wanted to make sure I was please because I returned the first purchase. I should have kept walking because I now can’t get the service that I have paid for when I need my car repaired. I sent a letter certified to the store manager on Glenwood Ave in Raleigh, NC and he didn’t have decency to even reply. I purchased an Acura MDX, meaning I spent some money with them and they had no problem cashing my check but now Crickets. I will NEVER purchase another vehicle from them and I will tell everyone I know what kind of service to expect after spending your money. It is so unfortunate because my repairs are minor, so what would they do with major issues. I would NEVER buy the service plan again either. No one cares after you spend your money.

I hate carmax and will never forgive them for putting me in a known lemon, a 2008 Subaru Tribeca. I’m in this POS because the other car I bought from carmax broke down in Tombstone Arizona 114 degrees in the shade, I hope your friends and families get f-ed over like carmax f-ed me over. I don’t care whether you like me or not.
I’ve been forced to pay thousands in transmission and brake issues on this lemon. I really liked when I was on a drastic downhill decline and the brakes failed. I was told to drive it from Ensenada Mexico to Bakersfield California where I had to wait a week in a sleazy hotel loaded with crack and meth heads to get the brakes repaired. carmax obviously hate Disabled Veterans too. Why else would they put me in this lemon. BTW, google the Tribeca if you don’t believe me !

I am ashamed of myself for not reading reviews before purchasing from CarMax. I am a single, working woman & my money doesn’t come easy. I have had a HORRIBLE experience from the very beginning, called Customer Relations, the person I spoke was very nice & empathetic but all he did was transfer me to the local store. I just got my vehicle out of service for the second time in 6 months, this time in for 3 weeks. I had a leak in sunroof, rattling in dash & oil light comes on after vehicle is driven for about an hour. They did nothing about the noise in dash-said they didn’t hear it-as soon as I picked it up it started. Said the oil light was due to the need for an oil change & supposedly fixed leak in sunroof for second time. They said they detailed the car-front floor mats dirty, dust or pollen all over inside & back carpet still has mold on it. I am now checking to see what type of recourse I have for buying a LEMON!

My daughter purchased her very first vehicle through Carmax approx. 6 months ago on 02/06/2017, we went through Carmax based on the reviews and believed that we would get the very best vehicle due to your inspection critierias.
We have been nothing but disappointed by the experience we have endured over the past few days. Let me explain my daughter is 25 years old, saved her $3000 to put down on her first purchase of a 2009 Honda Accord EX-L VIN# 1HGCP26899A097743 that only had approx. 85,000 miles on it. Believing everything she was advised during the purchase and encouragement of adding Carmax extra and advising that discourage the added rental care coverage on insurance, today has no car due to fire and complete loss, photos attached.
To recap a bit, first week of ownership of car it died, took it to dealer and they replaced battery, fast forward to Friday afternoon driving down street, radio goes dark, car dies again, she restarts cars since she was in middle of busy street, immediately pulls over and opens hood thinking maybe cables were loose, and finds car engine on fire. By the time police and fire dept. arrived it was a huge fire and heard the explosion of flames while standing by and watching.
When car was being purchased and buying insurance she was advised to not purchase rental car coverage due to having it available through Carmax Extra care, we called Saturday morning and were advised it was a different department and would have to wait til Monday, we were thinking that perhaps once insurance paid car we would return to Carmax and purchase a new car and that is no longer the case. To our complete surprise Carmax Extra notified us that no rental car coverage is availdue to car not needing repairs, the car burned, more than anything now is when we could use it. We cannot get help from Carmax regarding this issue other than sorry to hear about it.
All we were really asking is for some help with the Extra care rental car coverage to help get us through the next week or 2 to get car paid and come back in to same location and buy a new one from you but that idea and been made impossible.
Never in my wildest dreams did we believe that purchasing a car from Carmax, taking my daughters savings would end up in a total loss 6 months later, she is a full time student as I am a single mother and rental car coverage does not fall into our budget. Nor do we plan on returning to purchase another car from you due to this horrific experience.
We tried reaching out to every source we had at Carmax to no avail, all we got we sorry.
We will be seeking legal counsel after the insurance adjuster deems car a loss, and perhaps go to social media or any other source that will listen.

Read the reviews before you purchase your vehicle from Carmax. I am typing on a notepad and it is difficult to type as much as I would like. My experience wad not pleasant.

I’m absolutely disappointed with Carmax. My car needed Spark Plugs on which they said that they will repair and install. However the technician installed the wrong spark plugs in my vehicle which lead to more problems. I took it too the 100 Oaks location to try another technician but it only gets worst. They called and told me that everything was taken care of and replaced and I paid $503.75 now here we go again same issues with my car. This time I take it to the dealership and come to find out!!!!! My spark plugs were never changed. The manger called from the Rivergate location stating that I would be taken care of. I waited for the call from the dealership at miracle Chrysler dodge in Gallatin to get back with me on the rental and to give me an update on my car. Never called I had to call myself!!! Then he tells me that the manger called to discuss my vehicle issues but never consulted back with me. Then he tells me that they don’t have any rentals there he would have to go and get one? Seriously? And this is a dealership? So your meaning to tell me that all customers use the same vehicle? I understand that this is a business and customers are hectic but in this Field of profession requires multitasking. And that includes keeping the customer updated on the details of your vehicle!!!!! Some people don’t have another backup car if one breaks down. So you rely on your car. If Dodge cared about their customers they would escalate customers matters in finding ways to help. When the manger from Carmax called and stated that he would pay for my rental due to Carmax negligence and to pay for my repairs then the Service writer should had immediately contacted me in setting up transportation for me…… but I heard nothing…… all I heard well I’m going to get the rental as we speak? Excuse me? Where is the rental? That’s not telling me nothing . Bottomline miracle Chrysler dodge should had told me look here your car is not going to be ready today because we have to order your part, however the good new is that we can get you in a rental today all expenses paid through Carmax I can’t tell you when it will be ready but we’re working on it… When can you come in for your rental pickup. Now that’s professionalism. I’m going through this hell all because of Carmax negligence 2nd failure mistake. And Miracle Chrysler Dodge Poor Expertise in Customer satisfaction. Everyone is entitled to their first mistake but not second one. All this time I’ve been driving on bad plugs no wonder it was making that loud backfire sound….. No one should have to experience this issue. Technicians should be on there A-Game at all times. Our vehicles are in their hands. Place yourself in my ?

I purchased a 2013 GMC Terrain from Tampa store on 11-28-16 deposit of $15089.23 in the form of 2 cashiers checks an a 10000.00 from my credit union. Returned th car the very next day on 11-28-16 when tried to insure it and insurance wanted 300.00 a month when my punt was only 150.00 a month. I am still waiting for my check as I have not received a return yet. Your return policy sucks. Not a lot of people can pay that much money as a down payment towards a vehicle and I should have been refunded my money back immediately from the cashier. My cfedit union has electronically revived there money back. I need mine. I would like to have my money back tomorrow expressed mailed to mail so I can say acros the Board it was a good dealing with CarMax.
Thank You,

I’ve had a rough 2 1/2 years dealing with a car I purchased from your Winston Salem location . I’ve kicked out a little over $1000 getting my transmission repaired. Telling the story over & over & over is draining. I use would like reimbursement from the work I’ve had done
