Cameron International was founded in 1833 when Charles and Elias Cooper established a foundry and named the new company Cooper Industries.
The company became licensed to produce the Corliss steam engine in 1869 and began producing natural gas internal combustion engines in 1900.
In 1965 Cooper expanded to the automotive, electrical, and tools and hardware industries.
In 1989 Cooper acquired Cameron Iron Works and became Cooper Cameron Corporation. In 2006 the company changed names once again, this time to Cameron International Corporation.
Today Cameron International is a leading manufacturer, provider, and servicer of oil and gas industry equipment, makes products that control pressure at oil and gas wells, and produces integral and separable reciprocating engines and compressors used in oil and gas and power generation applications.
The company’s brands include Ajax, Cameron, Cooper-Bessemer, Demco, LeTorneau, Petreco, and Willis.
In April 2016, Schlumberger acquired Cameron International for $14.8 billion in stocks and cash.
In August 2022, a former Cameron site in Little Rock, Arkansas, was sold to GTM Holdings for an estimated $775 million.
Cameron International/Schlumberger maintains a corporate office in Houston, Texas.

Cease and Desist says
To my belief, CAMERON is a fraudulent company.
You cannot obtain a working telephone number, except someone in their warehouse security office.
A guy by the name of Adam Drake, who claims to be the Account Manager, North America Offshore at Cameron, constantly called our company for over two weeks, trying to obtain information about the CEO, CFO, of our company. He claimed he just wanted to “verify” the information that he already had. I advised him that if he already had the information then he needed to reach out to those individuals directly and confirm the information that he “claimed” to have had.
I knew he was lying because he knew NOTHING about anyone that he was mentioning to me. I asked him on numerous occasions to stop calling our company and then he started to harass me by calling approximately 10 times in a row. Since we have caller id, I could see his number, (713) 354-9779, and I would simply pick up the phone and then hang up on him. Then he called from another number, (832) 653-4374, once I heard his fake English accent, I hung up.
Now, if you call the (713) number, and you hear his voice mail message, you can obviously tell he is an American, and is from Louisiana.
Be aware of this company and this person referenced above. It is highly suspect to me and the nonsense that they perceive to be “a job” should be illegal.
Last, but not least, if Adam Drake thinks that we would consider doing business with him, he is sadly mistaken. By his conduct and lack of professionalism over the past several weeks, by way of harsing over the telephone, is certainty NOT the way to obtain new business partners.
Despicable!!!
