Boston Store was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1897. The company operates a chain of department stores, which now is owned by The Bon-Ton company.
In the 1920’s and 30’s, the company was operated by Philip Irving Stone and later by actress Jeanette MacDonald. The company currently has 14 locations, some of them acquisitions of competitors, such as Gimbel’s. The Boston Store is one of the most well known department store names and has a 3 star rating on Yelp.
The company is looking to change direction slightly, announcing early in 2017 that they would begin offering local artisan products, such as handmade soap, essential oil infused clothes drying balls, as well as hand made jewelry. Company headquarters are still located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

My 85 yr. old husband visited the store on Dec. 15 because he had a coupon [which incidentally was misleading) the clerk convinced him to apply for a credit card and asked for his socially security number which he gave her. Because of this we have been told we have to monitor all of our financial institutions to ensure our information is not being misused. I want this card cancelled and any personal information deleted from your files. Is it store policy to take advantage of the elderly?

I am writing in regards to my Boston Store credit card. I was assessed a late fee of 27.00 and a finance charge of 9.61 for $190.94 bill that was due on November 11. I paid it on the 11th but it was what they said past the time of 6:00 eastern time. I paid in at 8:13 which to me is still considered the 11th. I paid my balance in full. I asked them to remove the fee charges and they said no because I had the same thing happen back in September where I paid on due date but not by their certain time. I have talked to Commenity Bank and both representatives were very rude and and said there is nothing they could do for me. I tried to explain that I have always paid my balance in full and have been a card holder since 2006 and pay my bills. I am wondering if there is anything you can do for me or if you have a representative I can address my concerns to.
