BNSF Railway is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Burlington Northern Santa Fe, LLC. The company is one of the largest railroad operators in the United States.
BNSF Railway’s roots trace back to the 1849 founding of the Aurora Branch Railroad in Illinois. The Aurora Branch Railroad later became the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad (CB&Q), which was the predecessor of Burlington Northern (BN).
The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway (ATSF) was chartered in 1959. It built one of the first transcontinental railroads in North America.
In 1994 BN and ATSF announced a merger; they were the largest and smallest of the “Super Seven.” The Super Seven was made up of the seven largest Class 1 railroads. The merger created the new company Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway.
The company was acquired by Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway in 2010 in a $44 billion deal.
Today BNSF operates trains on 32,500 route miles in 28 states. The company generates revenue from BNFS Logistics, a provider of transportation management services, in addition to its rail operations.

I am trying to find what happened to “Continental Assurance Company”, which back in l972 issued to the
employees of the Chicago Burlington Northern Inc a Paid Up Policy in place of a raise and now cannot be found. Their address used to be in Chicago, Il, but now is not. Do you know where it is and if it is still good? It should be as I have stated, it was a policy given in place of an increase of salary.

I would like to thank the considerate bnsf crew for parking 3 engines in our residential area at 10:00 p m & left them running all night & all day. In Plentywood MT. This shows how they take into act people who live in the area & what it’s like to listen to 3 engines revving up day & night. We need dad protection just to be in our homes!

I send you this message for Alice Moore from the Moore Ranch south of Raton. Alice doesn’t know much about computers so she asked that I contact someone from BN&SF. Yesterday someone from the railroad went up Eagletail mountain to check the tower. They didn’t use the regular gate and went thru a different gate and tore down some fence. She was trying to contact Mike Toci communication tech II out of Trinidad ,Colo. to see if he know anything about this. Please have Mike contact Alice Moore at one of these numbers. 575-445-XXXX or her cell 575-643-XXXX.
Thank You,
Bill

I live at Fargo, Ok. 189816 E.co. rd. 44
For the last 6 or 7 days. there is a train close to 014472 m It has been idleing
24hrs.@ day. all this time. It is very difficult to sleep with the constant vibration
and loud noise. The train has the 014474 b crossing blocked, all this time also.
The engine #`s are 4071 and 4942 and 6996. I kinda looked over this in the winter or cold weather, because I know you don`t want to shut off a 3000 to
4000 h p engine due to the trouble there may be to re-start and get it going.
Please, it is no longer cold weather and I do not understand the logic in this at all. Is there any chance you guys may move it on down west so some of us can get some rest. PLEASE ! ! George Vanlandingham . .

Chief engineering may this email land on his desk for review. Pro Cyl is a Minnesota based company with solution driven technology. As your company it has been brought to our attention that the locomotives are powered via Natural Gas and we have the solution for the wasting of Natural Gas and the jelling of the gas. This solution needs testing and a university that is central to testing alternative fuels is right here in the State of.Minnesota,
Call PRO CYL for further discussion to save millions of wasted dollars and discuss with the patent holder and CEO of the company: John Webb-903.375.4186,

To whom it may concern: I have written an autobiographical story of my life beginning with my mother’s marriage to W.F. McGee, eventually a railroad section foreman. I spent much of my life living in an outfit car on a large extra gang across Arizona. I need good photos of 1950’s era outfit cars for my book. When mom died, most of her photos were burned. I only have one of me at seven and the outfit car isn’t fully in the picture. Will pay for the right photo. Thanks and God Bless. Fred W. Causley, Sr.
