Bank of America began in 1904 as Bank of Italy.  Amadeo Giannini created the bank in San Francisco to service immigrants that were denied service by other banks.

In 1930, the name Bank of America was finally adopted after a merger.

In 1956, BankAmerica was created as a holding company for Bank of America.

In 1997, Bank of America merged with NationsBank.

bank of america signIn recent years, Bank of America has acquired Countrywide Financial and Merrill Lynch.  The company has also been under fire for taking $20 billion in government TARP money in 2009.

In November 2019, the company announced that it was partnering with IBM to create a financial services ready public cloud.

Bank of America is currently the second-largest bank holding company in the US.  The BoA network contains over 5500 branch locations and 16,000 ATMs.

Everbank Corporate Office

Everbank was formed in 1994 when current CEO Robert Clements led a group of investors in acquiring Jacksonville, Florida based Alliance Mortgage Company.

In 1998, Alliance formed First Alliance Bank and acquired Marine National Bank.

In 2002, First Alliance acquired Everbank and took the name Everbank in 2004.

In 2007, the company was set to acquired NetBank but the acquisition fell through at the last minute due to the subprime mortgage crisis.

In 2010, the assets of the Bank of Florida were acquired from the FDIC.  The company also purchased the rights to Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, now known as Everbank Field.

The Everbank corporate office is located in Jacksonville, FL.

Park National Corporate Office

Park National Bank (PNB) was founded in 1908.

In 1980, current CEO Dan DeLawder joined the bank.

In 1985, Park acquired Fairfield National Bank.

In 1987, Park National Corporation was established as a holding company for both banks.  The Richland Trust Company is also acquired.

In 1990, Century National Bank is acquired, followed by Scope Aircraft Finance in 1994.

Later acquisitions include First Knox National Bank and Farmers Savings Bank in 1997, United Bank and Second National Bank in 2000 and Security National Bank, Citizen National Bank and Unity National Bank in 2001.

First Federal Bankcorp is acquired and merged with Century National Bank in 2005.  First Clermont Bank is also acquired.

Vision Bank is acquired in 2007.

Today, Park National Corp controls 148 banking locations operating under 14 different brands.  The Park National corporate office is located in Newark, Ohio.
