Aramark Corporation was founded in 1936 as Davidson Brothers by Davre and Henry Davidson. The company provided vending services to aviation industry employees in Southern California.
In 1959 Davre Davidson established ARA (Automatic Retailers of America) with William Fisherman. The company went public the following year.
Aramark provides professional services, food services, facilities management, and uniform and career apparel.
ARA provided services at the Mexico City Olympics, the first of 16 Olympic Games they serviced, including Athens in 2004 and later Beijing in 2008.
In 1983 Joseph Naubauer became CEO of the company, now named ARA Services, and a year later coordinated a management buyout.
In 1994 ARA Services changed its name to Aramark.
In 2015, the company also worked on a comprehensive new animal welfare policy that includes purchasing only cage-free eggs by 2020 and eliminating all pork from animals bred using gestation crates by 2017.
In August of 2017, the company partnered with The Humane Society as part of their commitment to increase the amount of plant-based foods. The company has plans to introduce a series of plant-based culinary training a six month period.
In 2013, an investigation by a journalist found that the food provided to inmates at Burlington County Jail in New Jersey was sub-standard and spoiled, so much so that it often made prisoners sick with diarrhea and vomiting. Maggots were found in the food preparation areas at least two jails in Michigan and these may have been the source of the outbreak of food-borne illness. Maggots were also found in Aramark food products at two Ohio prisons, the Ohio Reformatory for Women and Trumbull Correctional Institute. Aramark, however, was cleared by the Michigan Department of Corrections of any responsibility for inmate illness or pest infestation in the state of Michigan. Both the states of Ohio and Michigan fined the company $270,000 and $200,000 respectively.
Today Aramark Corporation is a food-service, facilities, and uniform provider, supplying businesses, educational institutions, sports facilities, federal and state prisons, and healthcare institutions. Aramark is #18 on the Forbes list of America’s Largest Private Companies. Aramark has 270,000 employees and had $14.41 billion in revenue in 2016.

So I work in Lowell Mass I have noticed on several paychecks that I was not payed overtime at the right rate of pay which should be at least time and a half or more according to The Fair Labor Act. I am not sure what to do in this cituation. Also being worked like a slave doesn’t help either and I see a huge amount of employees just leaving in one day and then how will you cover all of them not being there lets see you do that Aramark. Also there is a petition going around saying how the students think the food has not been great at a couple of the locations people are signing it and then it will be sent to the Chancelor.
Dave says
Aramark is the devil. Do not work for this company. They work you like a slave and then try to stiff you on benefits. This company is not for the workers its all about money.

I would like to know where to pick up my paycheck, get copies of everything I electronically signed and probably unknowingly signing writes away that I would clearly not be aware of being mentally disabled. I was so happy and hopeful when I got this job and clearly it has taken a massive dive into my remission from mental stability. They don’t care. They are only worth over 10 billion dollars, why would they care about a woman who has been sexually assaulted twice, has had 18 suicide attempts and an ex army wife of 10 years filled with domestic violence. It is easier for a camel to get through an eye of a needle than a rich man to get into heaven.

#2) these same two people are targeting people and getting them fired who disagree with anything thy say now this same GM has already been fired from Aramark for sexual harassment why he still has a job alone grounds alone for a law suit. human resources refuses to do anything about it and corp. never answers the phone so this is the last place I go if noting is done about it by this Friday I’m bringing my lawyer into this

I work for Aramark in Denver.Colorado at Coors Field. I have been here for 6 years. In 2016 I was named employee of the month and a i also received the Leadership of the year I love my job very much and was thrilled when i was asked to be a supervisor. From the minute i became a supervisor the attitude of the concessions manager changed towards me. She would ask me questions and then when i would go to answer them she would over talk me. I was also told to do things as far as if someone left their area unclean to leave it alone and when they came in the next day make them clean it.I did that once and then was embarrassed the following morning in the supervisor meeting. I was doing the best i could when i was given a supervisor folder and put in one of the biggest sections with no training whatsoever. On May 11th i was in my section and was being called over the radio several times but was getting stepped on by other people on the radio so i finally found out where the manager was and walked over there.Fans were already in the building and i was trying to tell her about an incident that happened earlier in my section with an employee. She proceeded to say no i didn’t do that and i’m telling her no i’m not talking bout you. She’s yelling at me saying i’m not doing this with you today and being very irate moving back and forth and then she tells me to give her my radio and keys so i do .The person she picked as lead supervisor was with her his answer to everything is IT IS WHAT IT IS.Im so humiliated and embarrassed at this point i started crying and walked away because in my mind i’m fired for no reason for trying to talk to my boss. I was going to head downstairs and she yells we have to talk about this.I am at this point not about to be yelled at anymore so i continue to the elevator. Her boss that is new this year sees me and asked me if i was ok i tell him no and he takes me downstairs to his office i tell him what happened and he says ok i”ll talk to her and get back with you.Sends me home and contacts me later on in the evening and tells me from what he gathers i’m happier as a stand lead so that’s whats going to happen if i agree to it.At this point i see no other option .I’ve been here for 6 years i’m on the cleaning crew i’ve been on that for 5 years or should i say was on the cleaning crew. I came into work on 5/12/2018 and went to my assigned stand well later on i see the concessions manager, the assistant concessions manager and the lead supervisor. They walk straight past me not speaking a word and for the next two days no communication whatsoever with any of them. We communicated with me on a daily basis before this happened. I did however contact her to see when the cleaning crew would be coming in because for the last three years i have came in between every homestand and cleaned the concession stands which are left unimaginable because noone is held responsible for keeping them clean.I depend on those hours and pay to support myself. I texted her twice because she is in charge of the cleaning crew. no response. I contacted her boss he tells me there are no games this week i told him the same thing that we’ve been coming in for the last three years cleaning. He tells me he’ll get with her and get back with me..She never responded back to me after attempts had been made to see when i would be coming in. I spoke to a non profit group that comes in as well and they told me they were coming in on 5/16/2018. So now not only have i been demoted, embarrassed. yelled at and treated like i don’t exist but also taken off the cleaning crew with no explanation at all. I am a very hard worker , I am loved by many fans, i do my job and i do it by the book and to be treated this way by management people i’m suppose to look up to is not only unethical but very unprofessional..I am having difficulty dealing with this situation and it needs to be addressed properly. I know i’m not the only one this has been done to by the same management team and its not right.Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.Hope to hear from you soon Sincerely Christine Kneubehl

I have tried quite a while to get/find my 401k I had through Aramark roughly 18 years ago. I keep getting spun in circles to the point in which I gave up. But NO!! That’s my money and I want what is mine. They even told me they can’t find anything about it because it was so long ago. That’s not right. Your reaponsible. SOMEBODY OF IMPORTANCE OR IN CHARGE NEEDS TO CONTACT ME ASAP. PLEASE
cynthia says
Felecia,
Do you know the broker the 401K was thru? Example: AXA, Schwab, etc. You can contact them directly, using your SS number. You typically have 60 days to move if from the company’s enrollment into one thru your broker. The previous company cannot stop you from doing this and should have given you information on how to do this. Also, they should have sent you are release form, because if they have not, they have been paying the monthly maintenance fee required for 401K accounts. I would look for any old paperwork you had (quarterly reports, etc.) and get the broker, your account number (if available) or use your SS number and see where those funds are!
Good luck!

I was formerly a Food Service Director in the city of Camden, NJ. Last October I suggested that our associates be reevaluated for possible wage increases. My Human Resources Officer, XXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX discouraged this idea and then began loudly accusing me of conspiring against her with hourly associates. She continued in this tirade for another ten minutes before I offered my resignation as a means of diffusing the situation.
In an effort to self-preserve I attempted to return to my position but was refused rehire or any other transfer opportunity that I might be eligible for. I am effectively blackballed from the Aramark corporation.
In this climate of harassment lawsuits I probably should have pursued legal action. But with no unemployment benefits I choose to pay my mortgage and purchase groceries over finding a lawyer.
I hope you can read this email and understand the gravity of the situation. One Human Resources Officer essentially ruined my career. A person who’s job it is to foster a healthy work environment pushed me out of a company that I’d served with measurable success for nearly two years.
In essence, XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXX overstepped her bounds and role in the company and as a result irrevocably damaged my career and destroyed my ability to live.
I am sickened and saddened by these events. I don’t know what I expect to accomplish by writing this but I just wanted to explain my side.

Anyhow I read some of the complaints and some of the unfair and unprofessional words towards this company. So like anyone cares I too have a complaint. Only I’m not an employee….. worse…. I’m married to an awesome amazing manager for Aramark……. worse I have worked over 15 years for the competition (Sodexo). My words are not good or polite or kind…… I had up and moved my home , my children my pets over 300 miles , cross state lines. On my own so that my husband could get proper training!!!!! But guess what. He’s is still asking and still being ignored. So at least Sodexo put their money into training. Sheesh…… once you become a big wig in this company you forget about the little guys and their family and how it might affect them . At least have a little class and respond to some of the emails of these hard working employees. At least put your money where your mouth is and support and give proper training to management after promoting them. I’m not happy about the situation. It sucks to see a loved one struggling unnecessarily. Make your employees and their families proud to work for this company. Because it’s not all bad . Just when it comes to needlessly complaints. All I’m saying is extinguish the fire before it begins.

I am no longer employed at Aramark in Metropolis Illinois. I terminated myself due to verbal harrasment from the plant manager. On several occasions I ask him not to speak to me in the manner he speaks to most employees. There were favorites he didn’t talk to this way. He would yell at you while embarrassing you in front of the whole plant. He tried to humilat you to get you to work faster. The work is physical at first. Nothing major. There is no air conditioning. It’s like a desert in the plant. When it is a 100 degrees outside, it’s like 120 heat index in the plant. He wants efficiency instead if accuracy. These are his words. In that environment, you are slightly slower than usual. I gave a 100% every time I walked through the door. I did everything I was to do. Meaning different jobs. He told me I was weak. I had an open wound on my neck and he ask me to work in the soiled department where they wear hazmat suits. I told him I would not do that job. Anything else but that. As I had been doing. Working an ironer of 300 degrees that I had no training on. But I was weak and needed to find some place that I fit in. So I did, at home. I had wanted this job for some time. Great pay and weekends off. The turnover is ridiculous. As I understand why now. The company does not care. As long as their loads get out. If the hospitals could only see how the lines are taken care of before they get them they would pull their accounts. I have 18 plus years in sales and hospitality. I’ve been a general manager. He does not display a good manager role at all. There are others that feel the same but need their jobs. I would rather be unemployed than take the verbal abuse he gave me.
Bruce Stauffenberg says
Hello, I have served in both a janitor and food service position for eight years then transferred into construction for the last eight more. Thus you can imagine all the facilities that I have been too and seen a lot of Aramark services. I have been to places such as Gennesis East hospital tower construction, John Deere Harvester, Cylinder, Seeding, and Head Quarters, plus many more. All with Aramark services, and I have to say at first it was decent. However, over the last few years I have noticed changes and many were bad.
At Gennesis my first four months was met with variety and fair prices. Sandwiches were always available with new foods to choose from such as breakfast pizza and sometimes something special like coffee cake (Once a week type specials). In the last four months of my work there leadership changed in the kitchen and now food has become standardized. Food shortages were common and the only way for me to get a breakfast sandwich was through the generosity of the ladies behind the counter saving them special for me even during peak hours they still ran out. At John Deere Head Quarters the breakfast sandwiches are much smaller and served with what looked like boxed or fake eggs. Although their selection was better all their prices were outrageous. The same breakfast pizza I used to get by the slice was now costing me 4$ each, and the size was a typical small slice. Other Aramark facilities were also constantly running out of food and taking away variety of foods so that every day breakfast was served the same way. I don’t like paying sit down restaurant prices for food I have to settle for (Plain eggs with a strip of bacon or sausage on a small plate while still feeling hungry after eating), or paying 4$ for what is labeled as a breakfast bacon sandwich with one piece of bacon broken in half on an English muffin, two tablespoons scrambled eggs, with a slice of American cheese. I have started bringing my own food for it is cheaper and more filling now, however, there is one place I will like to comment about special. At John Deere Seeding In Moline Iowa the kitchen there is very clean, the food is different every day, and breakfast has many options. Cheesy eggs (Sometimes special hash browns), breakfast casseroles, sandwiches (with options of croissant or English muffin, ham, or sausage, and all with real eggs!), breakfast burritos that when I see I always buy two of, and everything is always stocked! The coolers for drinks, the plates of food, you name it. Sometimes I have to take later breaks just 10 minutes before the kitchen closes and there is always just enough food to choose from with little to none going to waste. I pay six to eight dollars every morning there but I feel full and content with the meal. Here is the kicker! What other numerous kitchens have failed to do with a full staff of 3 to 6 people this kitchen does with one kind lady named Cherry or Sherry (I wish I knew the spelling). By far in all my experience as both a customer and once a food service employee I have never seen anyone as good at their job as she is. She and her kitchen alone has turned what would have been a negative review to a good one. If only all of their kitchens could learn from her, and to offer some advice to Aramark…. Treat her well so that she stays with you, and don’t standardize her kitchen like all the rest. If it is not broken then don’t fix it. In fact let her run it like she has been for so many years. I am not the only one with this opinion. I am just the one who decided to voice it here. In short eating in her kitchen feels like I am eating a home cooked meal. This is only the second review I have ever decided to write so I hope this is taken seriously, and If I could have I would have written the CEO directly.

Ladies/Gentlemen:
I am hiring a houseboat at your Lake Powel, AZ operation. As a former risk manager, I have concerns over the third liability risk associated with the hire. In your agreement you release the charterer for liability for loss/damage to the vessel. However, there is no provision in your agreement for providing third party liability insurance to the charterer. My personal insurer doesn’t provide this coverage. I’ve tried asking other insurers if they will provide such coverage, and have gotten no where. Could I please talk to someone in your risk management dept. about whether the issue of third party insurance on houseboat rentals has been addressed before?
Thank you,

Shatira XXXXmings says
To whomever it may concern,
Hi, my name is Shatira XXXXmings and while I no longer work for Aramark (as of this past Wednesday) at Coastal Carolina University it is unfortunate that the point of this e-mail has come. I feel as if I have given my location HR so much leeway that some issues have yet to be resolved. While attending Coastal in October 2015 in-between classes I worked at CINO six sometimes seven days a week, this was never an issue I was scheduled for five and I more than willingly came in when asked. The issues arose with a supervisor named Brenda Lee Ladd. At first it started with little things- I would be on the line alone ask for help and get ignored, at other times we would have a conversation she would report that I ignored her. After discussions with both Christy Heintz (the location manager at the time) and Phill C. (the assistant manager at the time) there was an issue she quit the games at work. Instead when I came in to use my meal swipes before work she would target me and try to force conversations on me. In addition to these forced conversations she was also taking pictures of me on her phone. I am not sure what the usage of these photos were as I was never questioned by management after these incidents. In February of 2016 a new manager (Darrin D.) came on, I was already cross-trained throughout most of CINO and so I began working multiple positions within a single shift. For instance it would be my job to prep, cook, and keep the salad bar clean, while simultaneously cooking for queso, helping the cashiers and breaking out queso, grille, and subway as the night progressed. Again I had absolutely no problem with this I never demanded anything for taking the responsibilities on and neither Darrin nor Dan (assistant manager) expected me to magically be everywhere at once. There were still petty incidents happening form February 2016 until that summer but nothing I hadn’t been previously exposed to. Things came to a head in the beginning of Fall 2016, now I was being followed around the site (check any security camera for the first three weeks of school) after every employee meal Brenda made it a point to ask if I’d gone through the cashier and then would again try to force conversations with me after I had clocked out, and I was still asked to do these multiple positions within one shift again, except this semester Darrin and I agreed that because of the hour to an hour and a half of clean up with closing down the salad bar I would not have a cash drawer and only take cards. This decision was also brought up with Brenda. Despite multiple conversations she kept giving me a drawer. Then came a shift where she claimed I stole money out of the drawer even though I did not use it. The worst part was that I was not notified of this but had to be told through Nick (an employee) that there was even money missing. When I asked management they said it was under her number not mine and to not worry about it. All the while she’s telling our co-workers how she “doesn’t need to steal”. There was also an incident between a Crystal (previous cashier) and Brenda in the spring semester of 2016 where Crystal got fired because money went missing out of a wallet that was turned in and Benda used that same defense. Then came the “sushi incident”, I was working at queso with Elizabeth (previous co-worker) when her and the sushi man were talking. She asked him about what he was making and he told and then offered her a piece of shrimp, she was going to fry it at our station but I told her ours was a vegan fryer and to use the grilles fryer since that was used during the day. Somehow this turned into Elizabeth and I stole a box of sushi fried it at grille sat down and ate it. I had been asking Darrin for a transfer for three weeks but when Helen (HR) contacted me about the theft I explained what happened. I also said that I was tired of the harassment and wanted a transfer. Helen had clearly made up her mind after our initial call and did not listen to a thing Darrin or I said. That fact was made clear after Darrin said he’d hate to see me go because of all the multiple positions I do within a shift for him. The next thing Helen said to me was that I couldn’t just go and use another stations equipment. Then she told me that I couldn’t just transfer because I don’t like someone. We all came to an agreement that I would work the rest of the week out at CINO then transfer to Hick’s that Tuesday. That Saturday the last day I worked with Brenda she brought cupcakes and other snacks to celebrate my leaving. I was under the impression that Helen was still investigating the harassment. In February there was another incident. A student claimed that I had insulted him, cursed him out, was on my phone, served him with dirty gloves, and told him he was lucky I didn’t spit in his food; all within the two minutes it takes for his meal to cook. When I initially saw him I thought he was drunk. I noticed him and his friends walk up because of how loud they were. He asked for a second bowl and I told him (what I had been trained to say) that he would have to come back up for another bowl. He asked if I were his mother and I joked back with him. After this Helen told me that I had insulted him and was rude and disrespectful. I told her what happened to my knowledge. I barely remembered at the time what she was talking about as at the time it was insignificant. Helen said the student was on twitter, e-mailed Jeff and Coastal about his claims. Helen did not even know who I was working with at the time I had to let her know that it was impossible for Joey (employee she questioned) to answer anything if that was the actual time since Andrea (former employee) was there to break her out. The next day Andrea says Helen wanted to talk to her even though Andrea had already heard of the incident form me- she hadn’t. I had already signed the paperwork before I talked with her again and my managers Christy H. and Eric both told me not to take it personally. During the second discussion I had asked to see the video of this incident to Jeff and he passed it off to Helen. Helen did everything in her power to distract me from the point of the conversation. I had to bring up the video five times before she started throwing excuses at me. First she said the video did not have audio. I told her it was fine, I didn’t need to hear it because you can’t hear what you never said. Then she said confidentiality, it told her they could block his face out even though I have the right to see his face. She brought up my having an issue with a previous supervisor as some sort of evidence of my guilt. When I asked if she was referring to the supervisor that was harassing me she changed tactic and said that there was the sushi incident. I asked if she was again referring to the supervisor who was not only harassing me but who lied about me, then I asked to see that video too. The point of the video was never about him but to see the validity of these claims. Then she said she would ask someone else. That was my first clue something wasn’t right since the point of the meeting was to watch the video. Within that e-mail about the video I also asked for my shoe refund, for about eight checks money was continuously added and subtracted from my checks because of shoes for crews. In our final meeting Helen said no to the video, gave me a title, and said there was no evidence of repeated withdrawals for shoes. Then she left. Our meting literally lasted for two minutes, maybe. Every meeting I have ever had with Helen she has continuously made me out to be the stereotypical black girl with an attitude. I am not perfect by anyone definition but for her only strikes against me are because of harassment she never investigated and an incident that took place that she also never investigated I fail to understand how I get punished. Although I have been legally advised not to notify you before starting anything, I have always enjoyed working for you and I believe in giving a company that I have given so much to make it up. This impacts my life not only with the defamation of character, the slander, or the harassment (I’m still not quite sure where the pictures factor in), but I got most of my professional cooking experience from Aramark, now every time a future employer calls one look at my file shows a lot of accusations that were never investigated fully or at all.

I am a retired teacher working part time at UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport, PA. My COBRA dental insurance from ran out on February 28th 2017. I was told by my HR department that i could get coverage for dental if they changed my status from perdium to part time. March 19th i was made part tiime, which made me elligible for dental insurance 30 days after the start of the following month. This would have been May 1. The 1st week of April my HR told me to contact Aramark benefits and get an update. Aramark told me i was not eligible because i was always eligible to get benefits and should have enrolled in november. My HR had continuosly told me i did not qualify prior to March 19. I asked Aramark about losing my benefits february 28th and was told that i could not count that as a qualifying event because it was outside a 31 day window. Unfortunately no ever told me about a 31 day window. I was told to appeal, which i did. I faxed my appeal april 24th. On the 25th a denial letter was generated and sent. No one in Aramark benefits has felt the need to return my calls. By the way the denial letter was addressed to Rob. Who is Rob my name is Peter. I would like to thank aramark at UPMC Susquehanna
for trying.

I have to share my disappointment with a company that I was really excited to work for. I was hired on 23 August of this year for employment at Aramark here in Denver, CO. I was told that I needed to go to the Pepsi Center to meet with HR and pick up an event calendar to sign up for events to work. Got there, for whatever reason HR did not come down to the front desk for me to meet and answer any questions that I had. Instead we spoke on the phone at the front desk, about the classes I need to take to be able to work the events, which are the alcohol and food class. I’ve called, left messages no return phone call back. Sent an email to inquire about the classes, and/or if I can start work now and complete the class at a later time, sent this email on Thursday 8 September to the person who hired me, and was told to contact HR, he sent the email to HR and CC me to inquire about the classes. HR did not respond until 10 September stating that there will be a class on 13 September in the evening, Kelly stated that she would let me know obviously the time and place etc. I contacted HR again, the morning of the 13 to find out what time? Needless to say, I was not contacted at all. I’m saying all of this to say, as a Retired army vet of 25 years, I’ve never dealt with such levels of being unprofessional ever. A new hire should not have to continuously contact HR, HR should ensure that new hires have everything that is needed, and make sure all of their questions are answered. That didn’t happen. This whole experience was such a waste of time, and unbelievable for a “reputable” company.

I got fired today August 26,2016, i gave two days notice of having to go to court. its was either i don’t go and risk going to jail or i go so i can continue to work. i got fired for going. i have things beyond my control to do so i can continue doing my job but i get trouble and fired for having to go to court but you have an employee who yells at employees, breaks things and throw things around but he gets nothing. i felt uncomfortable working with him but didnt say anything due to the fact i know management likes him better. i’ve done none of that but be patient and helpful to employees. i find this unfair and discriminating. i would like to talk to someone about this or i will be force to do something else.

Hello my name is Jason I recently applied for a job with Aramark in Vinton Virginia as a loader and unloader. I informed them that I do have a criminal background but it was in 2001 and I have not been in any trouble since then . I was recently informed that I could not be hired due to my background. All I would like is a chance to get a better job my myself and my family. I currently work at McDonald’s in Vinton Virginia. I have worked here for 6 years so far. All I ask is you could please reconsider and give me a chance to work for your company and show you what I can do. Your company will not be sorry that it hired me

I have been with Aramark going on 10 years. I’ve been here since my Junior year in High School. I have never been paid more than $9.00 an hour. New people get hired and they automatically get $9.50 an hour. I requested 11 days off for vacation and those days have been rejected. Also have been told I have to reapply when I come back. New people get hired and ask off for 15-18 days off. They get their days requested and do not have to reapply. I have talked to the Director about this but he shouted at me saying “9 days. No more. No less. If you take those 11 days, then you have to reapply for your job. Maybe I’ll think about hiring you back at all.” I was so upset about this, I had a serious aniexty attack when I walked out his office. The Assistant Director did not bother to aide me in this. She said we could afford to have me leave for 11 days because we are short staffed. I checked before requesting these days off. We have enough people to cover my days off. We will not have any problems covering positions. There are enough people crossed trained to cover them. Yet, she doesn’t know this. She just sits in her office and never comes out. One employee from Production was granted 15 days off (he just started 3 months ago and does not have to remember reapply). 2 employees from Retail have been granted 10 and 18 days off (also do not have to reapply). Another employee and I from Trayline have asked for 11 and 13 days off. Both of our days have been rejected and were told only 9 days and after that to reapply for our job back. Our Director does not care for Patient Services employees, just Production and Retail. I would like someone to look into this please. My co-worker and I are currently looking for another job in the mean time. We are both undecided if we will come back after our vacations. Please help us. Thank you so much.

ARAMARK is the most UNPROFESSIONAL company that anyone can imagine… complaints to HR that are suppose to be anonymous are not… HR rep for specific site will provide info to her/his friends/family members. also, supervisors have family mbrs working under their supervision, i believe this conflict of interest. You have to be some one favorite a you get overtime hrs event if you are lazy. they have no consideration for employees undergoing different medical treatments. issues never get resolve, manager has no cojones to handle issues. corporate office doesn’t have(don’t want to provide i believe) the phone #, fax# or email for the HR department… how are the employees to supposed to escalate their issues??? some of the chefs are don’t event have a certificate in culinary… you can be the janitor but if you are friends or related to anyone in power to hire then you become the chef….

I worked for aramark at MTSU university for the last 5 months as a supervisor and a location manager. I was terminated this afternoon because management refused to train me. They threw me into the position without training, made me work 6 to 7 days a week, and I had to work open to close most days. They fired me because they said that I failed to have adequate staff, perform write ups and didn’t know procedure. But I was not allowed to hire or be part of the hiring process, so I question being fired for that.
Management made promises that they never kept and to cover their butts they fired me instead of taking blame for their own short comings. But also the DM, RDM and the HR manager are good friends. I believe that my being fired is retaliation for my disagreements with them over several situations that I felt took place that were unethical. There have been a lot of unethical actions done by this management team at this campus that have been sent to corporate with no resolution. Today I saw first hand the unethical way the management team at MTSU handles things. They are unprofessional, I have been in the business for over 35 years and have never seen a management team ever treat people like this before. They are a lawsuit waiting to happen

yes they are extremely unprofessional, they only hire and properly train their friends, or family mbrs…

No one answers your corporate telephone and it is nearly impossible to contact anyone from your company.
I do employment work for the city of Seattle – I am trying to help a client apply to work for you (something I may have to rethink) and I have run across a glitch in your application system – I need some help to resolve this but no matter how hard I try I can find no phone number or e-mail address that will allow me to talk to a human and solve a relatively minor problem.
My clients name is Yvonne Tillman and her application for an open Baker position is in the system but it won’t allow me to submit because it wants one item and it won’t tell me where it is missing – I am frustrated by how very hard you make it for someone to apply.

I was just terminated on 7-9-15 from an healthcare account in Chattanooga, Tennessee. by an GM and his friend the HR manager and who I had reported to the employee Hotline for harassment and intimidation. These two managers together are the best of friends planned a campaign of revenge for me reporting them. It got so bad with my boss threatening my job on four different times I even had to report it to the client. No one from
Aramark ever contacted me and left me under this terrible man until he terminated me yesterday. I had been on this job over 20 years before he showed up less than 10 months ago. No on reached out to help me. How can any of you claim you nourish and enrich lives, because you surely didn’t in my case. Shame on you!

I have worked for Aramark for 15 years obviously I like my job but I don’t like that good workers go unnoticed! And in 15 years I’m still not making 9.00 the pay really sucks.. I want to know why we don’t have Christmas parties like we used to…We don’t get a thank you job well done or anything.. I just don’t understand.. I’m not racist & I don’t pull the race card but seems to me people of color are never advanced.. And I know several ppl that work for Aramark that are not as bright as others & those ppl get cheated so bad it pathetic.. They never gives those ppl a raise & The Employers at the Carrollton facility are going to hell in a hand basket for doing them wrong ..Managers are prejudice & it shows …that place is gonna go under soon!

I am a dedicated employee of aramark through Logansport State Hospital. I have complaints about management retaliating against employees and employees being treated with disrespect. Due to the not on time schedule (never on time or advance schedules) I was not notified I was to work on my day off. It has been my pass day for 7 months now. No one called and told me I was to work on my day off…therefore I missed that day. I’ve missed one day since I’ve started working for your company. I was then wrote up and refused to sign because it was not my fault. The director of food service then started to tell me that I have been bragging all over about not being wrote up instead of handling it professionally. Rumors should not be in a professional conversation nor should one be subject to humialtion because of those rumors. I also feel I am being retaliated against because I took on another part time job for a different company. I feel like I am being punished and otherwise picked on because so On another note I have removed several notes to aramark employees which call them lazy and stupid. I believe corporate needs to come and talk to their employees. I love my job and wanted to move forward with aramark but not sure I can do so with the childish ways supervisors are managing Logansport Aramark. My name is Holly Lantz.

Re: Meeting /Observation Rebuttal
Thank you for taking the time to meet with me on May, 29, 2014, discussing four key areas that you feel immediate improvement is necessary.
To recap and respond to the four areas you referenced during the above meeting date:
• Insight and recommendations to support the Accounting Team
• Communication of expense concerns
• Demonstrate, “Front Line First”
• Improve Microsoft excel abilities
I would like to please address each area aforementioned, as I am not in total agreement that I have been given the same level of support as that of my peers, ownership, and partnership efforts from all teams to work towards a common goal.
Prior to you becoming my direct report to manager, July 2013, Mr. Lee Karlin, my previous direct report to manager, outlined my direct focus areas, and per my previous review, conducted by Mr. Karlin, I was in good standing and met the goals outlined. As of you becoming my direct reporting manager, July 2013, in less than a 6-month’s observation, you administered my review in September, and from your overall assessment, it appeared I was trending in the right direction of being a successful contribution to the team. As you also noted, I was successful as Unit Controller, but had little opportunity to assume Sr. Unit Controller tasks, which would be a part of your upcoming plan. To date, I do not have any meeting plans or goal succession meetings noted of your plan; solely your reprimanding of what I am not doing. Hence it would be an unfair assessment to state, “I visualize my assignments at a Staff Level Accountant.” What I suggest should’ve take place was a goal succession plan, outlining the detail of the particular training and expected duties and/or functions, in an effort to partner with me as my business leader, to afford me the exact opportunity you previously noted was not available to me to assume such responsibilities.
Respective to your concern of issues with the invoicing of TJV’s and you having a series of communications, dating back to January, 2014, I am very concerned any issues you may have of my handling would just now be newly addressed in May, 2014. I would’ve been hopeful that any concerns of my handling or mishandling could’ve been remediated much sooner, allowing me ample opportunity to become better trained and allowing opportunity for me to express any concerns. I would like to also add, if I am under the false pretense that I understand what is expected of me, and no other issues were brought to my awareness to indicate otherwise, I am not sure the opportunity presents itself to express concerns on what I already thought I understood. Therefore, not knowing what to ask for if I don’t know what I am missing, how can I be held accountable for not asking for what I don’t recognize I need?
To address my visits to the Glenbrook food service team, you stated I was not able to come up with ideas to make my visit more productive; however, you also made note that I did express concerns with you of their unavailable schedule. I am not sure how you would have the expectation that I can form ideas on meeting efficiency, if I don’t have the support or buy-in from my superior, you, or from Lynda Nelson and her team to even express why the visits are necessary. Expressing those concerns to you as my superior, I was hopeful you could support the partnered expectation between both teams, and perhaps serve as a mediator between myself and the Glenbrook team to ensure they are working towards the common goal. As a result of your mediation, Lynda Nelson and her team would perhaps become more flexible in our meeting time. At that point, absolutely, I am in agreement with what you state, I could then devise a plan of how to ensure being most efficient and effective during that allotted time. I am not sure how or why I can be held solely accountable if the level of support to drive this business plan was not put in place to first set-up these meetings, and then move forward from there.
Lastly, to address my need for advanced Excel training. I am certainly open to all ideas to advance both my professional and personal skill; hence there would never be resistance on my behalf to enhance these areas. Because Aramark does not offer these learning opportunities, via e-learning courses, or company offered classes, as expressed during our May 14, 2014 meeting (per your reference), I explained that I do not have the financial means to invest in such course and solicited any thoughts or ideas you may have on how I may be able to expense such a course curriculum outside the company, again seeking a partnered relationship with you as my direct reporting manager, to ensure I am successful in all areas.
In conclusion, I would like to reiterate my desire was to be successful for you and the business, as well as, have the exact same support from you as my manager, that I have observed being provided to my peer. My personal goal to continue my education is an exact reflection of my tenacity to become better educated and more successful, therefore, there will never be any resistance on my behalf to accomplish my goals. I would’ve also liked the time opportunity to improve my performances, as assessing my improvements from a week to week assessment is not ample time for me to demonstrate improvements or for you as my superior to foster my success. I do believe it is a two-fold effort to ensure that I am successful. You have in no way Steven Irlbeck, delivered an experience that enriches and nourishes lives. Perhaps, this should be your next “team meeting” topic of discussion.
After receiving multiple memos of concern addressing performance issues not related to duties that I was originally hired to perform, a tremendous amount of stress has been placed on my work and personal life. I regret to inform you that as of today, June 20, 2014, I am resigning from my duty as Accountant or Sr. Unit Controller Assistant with Aramark Healthcare, effective immediately. May I suggest that you spend time with the next candidate that is offered this position or any for that matter, to train them and teach them the business before worrying about them mastering Excel. I guarantee you that it will make a difference.
Best Regards,
Natasha Dobson
