American Water disconnected my water over an $80 bill on 10/26/2020. I paid the bill and contacted American Water Customer Service, but the lady I talked to never told me that I had to be at home when their Technician came out to turn the water back on and, as a result I contacted them in an effort to get them to come back out after I read their notice about being home. I was told that it would cost me $138.00 for them to come out after hours to turn my water back on which is just plain vicious and evil. As a 65 year old retired US NAVAL RESERVE VETERAN, I am appalled that they would charge such a high amount just to turn my water back on after I placed my life on the line to protect their liberty!!!!!!!!!! I intend to file suit against American Water because of their vicious unethical fee associated with resuming service after I just paid these vicious animals $80 plus $32 just to resume service!!!!!!!!! They don’t care about the fact that I was only behind $80! I guess if I was white I would not have been treated like this.

As a new homeowner, I am very emotional and in tears as a result of my experience with Indiana American Water Company. I do not expect you to remedy my situation below, however, I do think an evaluation of customer service practices and service technician work standards may be worth you looking into. This email is prompted to you based on my experience, see email Below i sent to customer service. If you do not see a probable cause to look into ways to improve, then I apologize for wasting your time.

I know you do not care but I think it is unfair and poor customer service for me, as New homeowner, to be told that you cannot honor your email statement below. Now I have to wait until December 26 to have services installed.
Who has extra money to pay for a 6-day hotel bill?
The 6-day weather forecast is predicted to be 7 degrees. So there is a Great possibility that my pipes will freeze. I call to ask is there is nothing you can do and all I receive is I am sorry the workers are booked and it sucks being you, happy holiday ma’am- is there anything else we can do for you.
So now, I have to figure out what the heck Am i going to do when I have another bill added for non water service should my pipes burst. I guess when that happens I will have to wait another indeterminable time for service repair person.
By the way, it would have been nice to consider that I contacted Indiana water on Wednesday, December 20th to start services. You do not have same day service but I think I should have qualified for next day services.
I know you could care less about my inconvenience.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
