SuperValu has its roots in the 1870 founding of the B.S. Bull and Company, which was a dry goods seller in Minnesota. This venture failed but the backers went on to form other companies, which were merged into the Winston and Newell Company in 1926. This company eventually became SuperValu.
During the next 80 years, the Winston and Newell Company acquired ShopKo, Hornbacher’s, Cub Foods, Scott’s Food and Pharmacy, and Richfood Holdings.
In 2006 the cmpany acquired more than 2,000 stores when it bought Albertson’s Inc for $9.7 billion.
Today SuperValu is the third-largest food retailing company in the United States and ranks number 75 on the Fortune 500 list for 2012.
SuperValu operates more than 2,500 stores all over the United States, under the names Cub, Farm Fresh, Shoppers, Shop ‘n Save, and Hornbacher’s. SuperValu has 120,000 employees and had $34.327 billion in revenue in 2013.

I want a copy of that check sent to me. I have proof I was paid in full as of May 10, 2019. If I actually get a response from you I will lmao.

I work at Cub and I feel that my boss, Asst. Mgr. of Deli, should receive recognition of helping me to deal with an episode that happened a couple days ago. I almost gave up wanting to help people and would have quit my job if not for him.
I had a horrible situation with a very highly agitated customer who I could not appease by listening to her, willing to substitute product, asking her to please talk to the Dept. Mgr. She would not talk to the Mgr. and demanded “me” in an abusive manner to do what she wanted as she had the rights of a customer. I could not provide a product that we did not have.
Thank goodness, I have a very supportive Asst. Mgr., Micah, who talked me through the process, gave suggestions and made me feel that the incident was worthy of attention but to also not let it affect me in such a negative way.
I hope that all Cub stores have an Asst. Mgr. like Micah. and that my situation does not happen to other employees.

Hi! I’m a hornbachers deli clerk in fargo,ND off of 13th Ave S.
I want corporate know that I have suffered bullying, harassments, entrapment and multiple emotional breakdowns due from my fellow employees which none of my managers and higher ups have done nothing to stop it. I used to work at another grocery store back in California a couple years back before coming to Fargo a year ago.
Now I have never been treated like this in any of my jobs i had before and I know the other grocery store I worked did not accept these kind of behaviors. No one should be treated the way I have been treated here for the past 15 months.
I personally think this company need to get their act together and stop these behaviors before something much worst will happen. I love hornbachers and all BUT THIS SHOULDN’T BE TOLERATED AT ALL!
Stephanie Schultz says
I agree! Super Valu hires some mentally defunct people. I too had enough. I’m 54, not some drugs, alcoholic or lazy jerk. Not going to put up with immature people.
So not woth 7.25 an hour- especially with deli management experience!

Valet Product Line patents, develops and manufactures devices to assist the elderly and mobility challenged in pulling on taking off their shoes, boots and socks. Our products have patented gripping mechanisms that, instead of painful bending, reaching or asking for help, allows the mobility challenged to perform this utility in a matter of seconds with no pain or assistance needed and is the only product that does. Our attached patented bootjack pops off any shoe or boot with ease and is attractive to all consumers, including women who wear designer boots. Until now we have marketed exclusively to the medical market and are now expanding our marketing to the consumer retail markets both domestic and international.
Our Shoe Boot Valet (SBV), shoebootvalet.com/, performs this service for shoes, slippers and most boots, can be used standing or sitting, requires little to no grip strength and weighs one pound. Over 40 million people in the US alone need this product on a daily basis for medical reasons and tens of millions for casual use like with women and their fashion boots. By the end of 2017 two more products will be added to VPL’s product line, the Sock Valet (SV) and the Boot Valet (BV). The Sock Valet will be the biggest seller of the three because of the higher difficulty of putting socks on and taking socks off. The SV has a patented gripping mechanism like the SBV that allows the user to pull the sock over the foot, ankle and up the calf with no bending or reaching required. The Boot Valet is a shorter, stronger version of the SBV for taller and more difficult boot usage and is being marketed to the farm, ranch and other boot wearing communities; we have an approved prototype to initiate immediate production. Millions of people who had to quit wearing their beloved boots because of medical or other issues are back in the market and that is great news for boot manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers.
Everyone knows someone who needs these products and the gift market is huge for this type product. What better gift could you give a friend or loved one than to ease their pain and give back the independence they have lost? This is the reason we are increasing our markets to consumer retail with their much larger consumer traffic, especially now that we are becoming a “one of a kind” multi product company. We are increasing our marketing programs tenfold and reaching out to the non medical markets to educate them on our products. The short video we send gets their immediate attention and we are the owners and only provider for these devices. At some point in the near future our increased exposure and education of our products will reach a point that sales will snowball. The retailers on our website will be the only access to these products. The VA has contacted us several times wanting our products on their vendor list and have promised to fast forward their approval.
If you were one of the millions of people who will see the video and just had major orthopedic surgery, have crippling diabetes, stroke victim, arthritis, back issues, obesity issues, are handicapped or have dozens of other disabling maladies wouldn’t you take a second look at the SBV for $39.95? Would you purchase it for a friend or loved one? We are a small growing company and looking for those retailers who want to partner and participate in our growth and theirs in either your stores or online- we realize floor space is limited. The only thing we ask for and insist on is that you market the product also and show the video. We are looking for just a few consumer retail partners at this time as we have other markets to serve (boot and medical). International sales is a big plus, we have tested that market and have high interest.
If interested, please contact me we can discuss it further. Thank you.

Great Wednesday morning! I am a ten year volunteer and current Board Secretary for MN AMBER Alert Fundraiser. We are a federally recognized 501(c)3 non profit organization dedicated to raising funding and awareness for the vital AMBER Alert Program in Minnesota. We hold a number of annual safety fairs where we prepare and educate families/communities in the event of an abduction and we hold a variety of fund-raising events throughout each year. 100% of all profits are donated directly to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and used exclusively for the AMBER Alert program. Funds are used to purchase greater technology (ie. overhead highway signs)and to provide our law enforcement officers with state of the art equipment and training. Minnesota’s 29th AMBER Alert was safely recovered within four hours of the sounding of the alert. Our funding assists in this effort. We are blessed to announce that all 29 Minnesota AMBER Alerts have been safely recovered since the beginning of the program in 2002. We’re committed to holding onto that 100% safe recovery rate. With your help, we can continue to aid in this success rate!! We offer a number of terrific sponsorships where your donation receives recognition in the form of many forms of marketing!! I would love to meet and discuss some of our opportunities with the member of your team who makes such decisions about corporate giving and marketing opportunites. For instance, a donation of $500 would enable us to purchase a qty. of 500 fingerprint ID Kits and your company logo would appear printed on each of those kits. That amount of ID kits typically last for us 2-3 months. We also offer exclusive event sponsorships and smaller marketing opportunities such as having your logo appear on our hats and t-shirts, etc. I look forward to hearing from you soon, to visit about how we can partner together in an effort to safeguard Minnesota children. Thank you so very much for your time and consideration!!
Warmly,

I have been trying to track down my pension from shaws supermarkets. I worked their for 18 years and used to get regular updates as to the value of the profit sharing. I haven’t seen a statement in three years from Supervalu. I know you have the correct address as you send me a letter every year that is required by law ( annual funding notice). I wonder how many of the 32,000. People in pool that haven’t retired yet have no visibility to their pension. Can you please fix the process and send me an update as to the value of the pension and how you have performed over the last 18 years investing the money on my behalf.
Thanks

I have talked to 7 people about getting my supervalu pension funds they sent me a letter telling me I could get a large sum .So they told me to write a letter that cost $5.00 to mail to them . I also been told someone would call me named dean that person never called or e-mailed me,like they said they would. I’m always calling on my lunch hour and now I’m at the point of turning this over to my congressmen and the IRS.Respectivley l don’t want to do this, but would appreciate this being handled now, Since they are the ones who have sent the letter to me. It has now been 7 weeks now and no one has called me or emailed me. I would like my large sum pension fund since l earned it. I don’t know what else to do. I would like a call from the person that they told me who’s handling the case . I think the person name is dean. I couldn’t call them back cause they never left a phone number to call back! I asked them to call me back or e-mail me.l also completed the letter that they told me to write. I’m going to try to attach the original letter. I do have the original letter. if someone could e-mail me l can send this.

My wife was wrongfully terminated by Marv and Allison’s Sentry, and belittled on the way out. The owner of the store made a point of allowing the Deli manage to come into the office and laugh in my wife’s face because she was being terminated. According to Marv, there is no one higher than him and he can do whatever he wants. I really hope that corporate takes an inside look into its paddock lake location and figures out how to stop this from happening to more people. The stores reputation doesn’t seem to be very good as it is and these self destructive business practices will work against what Supervalue is trying to do in the small community of Paddock Lake. It is a real shame to watch your wife go through constant belittling, games, badgering, harassment, and an overall hostile work environment. Whats worse is that she seen it happen to others before it was her turn and it will continue to happen because of vindictive and unethical management. There are plenty of other employees still employed as well as not employed there any more that would confirm this.
Dean Mathews says
Hi Kyle. I’ll take care of this at once. He will regret it, I swear.
Kyle Arb says
Hi, my name is Kyle Arb and my wife works for your store. She is one of many employees at your Paddock Lake location who are absolutely miserable on a daily basis due to the extremely unethical treatment and hostile work environment. I have been doXXXXenting this since January this year, some with time stamped e-mails to other professionals which agree that my wife, as well as the other employees, have a valid cause for concern. I was recently given phone numbers by one of the managers who witnessed “Cindy the deli manager” and her tactic of “harrass employees untill they quit.” I personally spoke to the owner Marv and he confirmed that he condones this sort of treatment since his only advice was “If your wife is so unhappy then maybe she should finally leave.” Anther employee in the deli who lives with “Cindy the deli manager” started sending my wife harassing text messeges. It has become so difficult to deal with that we finally had to have a Kenosha County Sherrif warn the employee about the messeges and the civil consequences of these types of actions in the work place and over the phone. The owner Marv has very little if any desire to correct this situation. It was brought to my attention from antoher long term employee that Marv favors “Cindy the deli manager” because of the nature of their adulterous relationship. My point being, you have some serious problems inside your Paddock Lake locations with an already struggling chain. In this day and age of business, relationship marketing and word of mouth really does speak volumes for a business, especially when it is in the heart of such a small community that can choose to drive a short distance to Woodmans by Interstate 94. Ethically, I believe that the best course of action is to now bring these problems up to the corporate office so you as a company can figure out how to correct the problems that Marv is incapable of correcting. I am sure you see it in your best interest to make sure that the Sentry Paddock lake location be more of a “star” or “cash cow” instead of a “problem child” or “dog” as they are called in the Boston Consulting Group Model. I don’t want to see my wife become another victim to Cindy and Marv’s unspoken company policy of “harrass them untill they quit.” We have mouths to feed, and we believe that finding a solution to the problems at the store will benefit everyone to include the employees, the community, and most importantly Sentry foods so it can continue to provide decent jobs for its local community.
