Foods Co was founded in 1977 in California. The company is owned by Food 4 Less, which in turn in owned by Kroger. In northern California, Kroger does not own the rights to the Food 4 Less name, so it operates under the Food Co name.
The company operates a chain of no frills ,warehouse type of grocery store, where customers do their own loading, unloading, and bagging of groceries. Customers save money by buying some items in bulk form, such as nuts and beans, and by foregoing fancy fixtures and “pretty” stores, as well as by bagging their own groceries, rather than relying on baggers.
Foods Co store layouts greatly resemble Food 4 Less in that there are frequently disorganized aisles with actively working forklifts moving pallets. Many, however, feel that this is well worth the lower food prices. Company headquarters are located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

I’m a frequent shopper at food co. located at 10790 Foothill Square in Oakland Ca. I’ve always had pleasant experience for the most part at this store. But my last visit was awful almost belittling in a sense. I felt like my cahier was profiling me and was rude and not knowledgeable. 8/5/21 @ 6:12..6:15 I was getting rang up at the check stand at the end of the transaction I proceeded to pay for my items and i noticed the pin pad kept stating to input in my pin number i informed the casher that I was using a credit card and she said” oh by bass the pin number and hit green arrow button ” i did so the i told her it was wasn’t working . She left check stand and went to get another co worker(James). He walks up and looks at me doesn’t say anything ,looks at the card I was using and states I had to use my pin number I stated my card doesn’t have pin number its a credit card. He goes on to hunch his shoulders and say oh we don’t take that card. I replied well that strange because i shop here at least 3-4 times a weeks and I typically use my card here he says then , “well when was the the last time you used the card here” I replied yesterday or the day before he says we we don’t take that card no mo???? By this time I’m already irritated and confused
because this was a first time encountered this issue and rudeness. I told the young lady ok let me go grab cash out my car since i was parked right up front near the door. Ran right back in to finish my purchase as i walked in the door James was voiding my transaction and my groceries where still on the belt and the customer behind me had not been rung up yet. He told me he would ring me back up but yet i still had to back to the other register to bag my groceries. Not great experience and rather shop at other grocery store out my way where i can receive better service especially when i spending my money .

I just left one of your stores in Tulare .Ca there was about maybe 15 cars in the parking lot. I went in paid for my groceries and when i got back to my car I noticed I forgot sour cream. So I sent my boyfriend in to get it. After about 15 min i pulled up to the front of the store just off of the entrance so that i wasn’t in the way of people. An employee of the store came out and asked me to move my car so I pulled up a little bit more and stopped. Your employee then came around to my driver side window where he started screaming at me to move my car and demanded I roll my window down. At this point I’m starting to feel threatened by him. He yells that he is the store manager and if i domt move my car he is calling the cops. I’m appalled at this point because I’ve done nothing wrong for him to be treating me this way. My boyfriend then comes to car and gets in and as I start to pull away I hear a loud thud on my passenger side I immediately brake and look back and it’s your manager. He kicked my Mercedes C350 and left a dent and scuff marks on my back passenger door. At this point I am pissed off and i want my car fixed and i believe your manager needs to be fired! I did nothing wrong for your Manager to assult my car leaving damage. Someone needs to get ahold of me immediately or I’m going to file a lawsuit.

My husband went to Foods Co of Calvine Road in Elk Grove, CA today 10/29/2019, to buy Pepsi Zero Liter bottles Limit 10, After that purchase he went back in to make another purchase of 10. He was stopped and told he couldn’t do another purchase. I understand the limit of 10 at one time, but this was a whole new purchase. Please respond and clarify you’re policy. Thank you, Mrs. Germscheid

Today Jan. 12, 2018 approx. at 7:20am I went into your Fresno Store at 3657 W. Shaw,
as I drove up I couldn’t help to see how nasty and dirty your parking lot was, it was ghetto
dirty. I never really notice parking-lots unless they are in poor condition because it makes me feel as though I shouldn’t be there because something bad may happen. Since I drove there I went ahead and went in. Your entire back wall, where you have your coffee creamers, milk, meats and other items didn’t have any lights to display your items. I thought perhaps the electricity had an outage in that area. I couldn’t distinguish the employees from your product vendors, everyone wears Light blue/dark blue and I didn’t know who to ask my question for what I was needing. I just decided to leave and go to Walmart. I don’t know who your store manager is….but I say it’s time to look into what they are doing because it’s quite obvious what they’re not doing. I’m taking the time to write this not to get anyone in trouble but to tell you, you can put out the best ads, the best prices but folks will still choose to go to a store that is clean from the outside because then you know the inside is even cleaner.

Hello,
Today at your Folso. St store in San Francisco I had a bad experience. A lady was in the 15 iyem or less line with a cart piled high with groceries. She refused to go to another register and the store associates ignored the whole situation. What is the point of having express lines if they are not enforced?
