Many of the entities that make up US Foods have their roots in the 19th century: Monarch Foods was founded in 1853, John Sexton & Company began as a retail tea and coffee merchant in 1883, L.H. Parke Company began in 1889 and S.E. Rykoff & Co. was founded in 1911.
All of these companies were food distributors in the 20th century.
S.E. Rykoff & Co. bought John Sexton & Company in 1983 for $84.5 million, creating the new company, Rykoff-Sexton. This merged company was fourth among foodservice distributors and had $800 million in sales.
In 1989 PYA/Monarch’s management created a new holding company, JPF Holdings, Inc., and bought JP Foodservice Distributors from parent company Sara Lee. The new company passed $1 billion in sales the first year.
US Foodservice Inc. was formed in March 1992 and was comprised of five operating segments: White Swan, Bevaco Food Service, Kings Foodservice, Roanoke Restaurant Service, and Bigger Brothers Inc.
In the late 1990’s Rykoff-Sexton bought US Foodservice, then merged with JP Foodservice, changing its name to U.S. Foodservice in 1998.
In 2007 the company was bought out by investors and made a private company.
Today US Foods offers more than 350,000 national brand products as well as its own private-label products. The company provides food and related products to 250,000 customers such as restaurants, health care facilities, and government and educational facilities. US Foods has 25,000 employees and had $18.86 billion in revenue in 2011.

To whom it may concern. I tried the Chocolate Banana Swirled Loaf Cake today and it was absolutely delicious. Why is it that you don’t have a website for regular customers (who don’t own a business) to purchase your foods for their home. I would love to buy this product or at least know the recipe.

Last year I emailed your company to ask the drivers delivering to the Dairy Queen in Morrisville, PA refrain from driving over my newly installed curb and sidewalk (it costs thousands to do this and I don’t want to do it again). Your drivers have done an excellent job until today. As I said previously, I did not/do not want to get the drivers in trouble. It is a difficult job getting in and out of their parking lot. Today July 9 2019 at 2:36pm your driver (I believe he is new to this route) ran over the curb/sidewalk. I would appreciate it if you could notify him and ask him to stay in the street. The truck number 1215 and license Indiana 2710135. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hello.
You are feeding Americans, but yet your trucks are contaminating our air. The trucks that transport your goods are releasing a heavy black smoke. Not just at the beginning as the driver takes off, but the whole time they are on the road with the engines on.
Please!!!! With 24 Billions in revenue I’m sure you guys can fix this problem!
It makes the US. Food trucks look HORRIBLE! Why would I buy from you guys? You guys are contaminanting the air as your goods are being transported.

We have developed a food packaging solution for improving the quality of served and/or delivered food items. This packing solution enhances the appearance, texture, freshness, taste of the served/delivered various food item (Hamburgers sandwiches Chicken & others). In connection therewith, we have submitted a patent, which is at the moment pending.
The product may be done in different packaging such as flexible packaging, plastic, wood, metal, glass etc.
Should your company, or an affiliate of yours in the food or food-packaging business, be interested to know more about this product, please revert to us and we will be happy to provide you with additional details and show you a sample in a face to face meeting.

It has come to my attention that a LOT of changes are taking place at the Garland Division. Most of them are NOT the standard “Company Proceedures” How is it possible that Warehouse personnel are being allowed to move over and take Routes from drivers without completing a year of OTR experience to keep their Seniority? Why are they being allowed to just jump into positions they are NOT qualified for by your own written “requirements” protocol? How is it possible that the drivers that have “incidents for immediate termination” are NOT being terminated? I am not just talking about one violation, but SEVERAL! And yet they are still employed with Seniority? Maybe it is because of favoritism or color of their skin? Either way, it is NOT fair nor is it protocol according to your own Company Handbook! Either your Protocol needs to be rewritten accordingly (to include “favoritism”) or Corporate needs to open their eyes and take control of what is REALLY taking place! I understand “Seniority” in a company, however NOT following protocol is NOT acceptable! Allowing Supervisors to keep drivers on Routes even after (sometimes, numerous) “Reasons for Immediate Termination” have been committed, is not only unprofessional and disrespectful to the other drivers it is UNSAFE on our societies public roadways!

Knoxville division.I was fired after 17 years of service.Nathan of HR had 2 snitches telling on me constantly and manager of C/S had all the girls up stairs snitching on me.I was bullied and screamed at every time.I was called to his office because I didn’t stop setting a customer’s groceries to see what Betty P. wanted.Matt B.told on me that I asked who and why he was charging a cake to samples.Nathan said it was none of my business and never ask why again. When in fact in case we were audited who and why HAD to be on the invoice.Per Janice V.I thought Laurie L. car had got hit in the parking lot and I let her know and she went to Nathan and told him I was bothering her.And again I get called to HR.2 other people were fired within a year of me with high senority. My boss Dolph sent word to me that I was getting the 1000.00 bonus and thanks for doing such a good job.Few years ago a manager was pocketing money unloading trucks on the weekend and the person who found out about was terrified to tell anyone.Afraid she would be blamed for it and take the managers side.People that work there don’t speak up.I cried many times in front of customers because my job was overwhelming and couldn’t get help from Matt B.

Someone might want to take a look at what’s going on in Detroit …. things aren’t good and getting worse …. some of us are worried about our jobs! Stop talking with managers, or anyone in charge and start asking the people doing the work how bad things are ….. the men/women doing the work aren’t worried about numbers they are worried and their families

To whom it may concern,
My name is Jernara Davis and I was rehired by US Food Service back in 2007 by the IT Support Manager Kathy Bowser. Approximately 2010 when the IT department phased out, I was told I had to except a job as a Truck Builder for the night warehouse under the management of Bill Gleason. I tried everything I could to apply for other positions within the company, because of the reputation that the night warehouse management team had. Before I could seek out other positions with the company I ended up losing my job at the company. The termination brought about an investigation to later discover I had been terminated. The reason I am composing this email is to seek out some closure because this termination has not only wounded me, it has caused my family a great deal of setbacks as well. I have attached the statement which I had written to be added in the investigation but no one asked to see it. Later after finding out that I was terminated I ended up sending it to Mahmoud Sadighi, Eric Johnson, and Steve Graham. I got a reply back regarding my statement from Mahmoud Sadighi, saying, “Jernara, this incident was thoroughly investigated and the decision will stand. I wish you the best of luck in whatever you choose to do in the future. Take care”.
This matter has deeply wounded me that’s why I felt compelled to make this issue known. And as I was going through that grieving period from the separation of my employment, I made myself sick and almost bedridden from the lost of my position with the company. If it wasn’t for the fact that I was very sick I would have appealed the decision. Working for the night warehouse I have experienced behaviors that wasn’t ethical coming from management. The way they have talked down to employees while favoring those that they liked. These things have been brought up to management and HR but they did not do anything to change the situation. If they did not like a person they would find anything they could to get rid of that individual.
Sincerely,
Jernara Davis
