Kosher Department was created and begun by Rabbi Marmorstein
He kept up to the highest standard of both quality and kosher
Fairway now has new owners , if they keep him they will be successful
He is the best there is and we will all shop there as long as he keeps up the great work
We do not want any other replacements, thank you so much

I usually do not submit this type of complaint, but since I accompanied my wife (due to virus situation) to your Plainview store I decided I had to….We get your weekly flyer and usually stock up on steaks, etc….(once a month). We do not live that close to Plainview and have many other markets to choose from. Here is the problem, when arriving we discovered the meat and seafood section were closed and no one would open those departments to serve us. It was also indicated that the items on sale in your brochure were not in stock and or available. To top it off when complaining to your customer service rep., we got nothing but nastiness and a hard time. This was not a good experience for us and we will be sure to pass this on to our friends and family who are (or were) customers. You are in a very competitive business and this was not way to treat long time clients.

I really like your Stamford store because of employees like Rose in Food service and Mia in Coffee but today I was disappointed about the condition of your ladies room. The were no toilet covers in any of the stalls and all the liquid soaps despensers were empty. There was paper all over the floor. Please remedy this ASAP.

I had to take the time out and give a review, I was visiting from North Carolina and I went into your store on 125th st and the lines were outrageous due to freezing of the register. Everyone was mad and I was very tempted to leave . Before getting the chance a nice women by the name of Francis came over and apologize in the most sincere way., it reminded me of home in North Carolina. Her customer service skills were Immaculate and superb . It amazes me how she was able to calm everything and everyone down as well as making us laugh. She was amazing. When I come back to this store I hope that Francis will be there. I told my family and friends about my experience at your location. I want to say God Bless Francis and her spirt May you guys keep her as long as she is willing, you may not find another employee like her..
Want to say fantastic job Francis !

First: I have been involved with the supermarket industry since I was 8. FINEST on Cooper Ave in Ridgewood, NY a store I was practically raised in. At eight and most of my teenage life (I was an abused kid) I would sit outside and help people with their bags. One day the new manager saw me and well, brought me inside and that became my home. I learned every single aspect of the working in a supermarket. Except deli. But every other department I was well versed in. I went on to manage several supermarkets after. I would watch as the executive officers would come down and TEAR into the managers about things going on in the supermarket. This store ran like a machine. All employees courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, etc. They exuded customer service. Now in my career i am a Chief Operations Officer myself as you. I run operations for three electrical warehouses, with a staff of about 25. Probably not as big as you are, but still hold the same title. I train managers. I can say this. Supermarkets today are a disgrace of what they used to be in my day. Managers behaved like managers and were HAPPY! Todays manager looks like they are working for their PWP check! (public works program) welfare. Supermarket staff (most) are nasty, obtrusive, and angry miserable old trolls. My God in my day cashiers were HOT! Just saying, so beautiful, and they were KIND! Todays cashier is just a miserable person and they take it out on US the customer! They HATE the source of their income. But, if they lost their jobs they would equally miserable. I don’t care what people say (you have to feel sorry for these people) why? and it’s not right that I have to deal with these miserable people. I am PAYING to be treated like crap! The attitudes my God. I would LOVE to manager a supermarket again, but they would have to have the NYPD standing by 24-7 because I would firing people left and right. Union or no union. I am not just a COO I am an efficiency expert. I go into positions where my predecessor failed in their duties. You ever see Lean On Me? Like that!

Fairway store Georgetown Brooklyn NY (Ralph Ave) before I go into anything, this store had an AMAZING manager. I mean this dude was OLD SCHOOL! He LOVED his job, his customer service was IMPECCABLE! How Fairway could ax him out and bring this person in I have no idea. Incident: I live around the block so I know pretty much all the employees in the store. Most of the clerks (grocery) are very nice, etc, the other departments are lacking. I have to say since this manager left (Yuri) there has been a DECLINE in the way the staff treats people. He made them ACT RIGHT! Very impressed by this manager. Your customer service rep at the front desk? Looks a like she crawled out of the grave but her hair was untouched. I would be willing to bet this women is the wife of the manager I am about talk about. This CUSTOMER SERVICE person is a miserable old troll. I mean she HATES her job and goes out of her way to let people know. Customer service should be INVITING, just her presence makes you want to eat your question. Imagine going to Red Lobster and the Hostess says as you enter the restaurant ” I guess you want a table huh! ” OK… So I observe supermarkets when I am in them. This new manager you have is a fat sobbingly dressed miserable arrogant bully. If you send scouts to watch this guy you will see what I mean. His whole persona, aura, he reminds me of Jack Clugman from the Odd Couple. I mean this dude just reeks of misery. If the herein customer service agent I talked about is his wife I understand lol. I have had few interactions with him but every time he pissed me off. Tonight was the last straw, and besides calling him a fat slob wanna be manager I elected to write you. It was 10:51 and I was talking with one of the workers and he YELLED at me to come up to register NOW! My first instinct was to ask who the F he was yelling at! But, I went up to the cashier and was being checked out. The whole time he was staring at me (hard) I wanted to approach him and rip his head off but I didn’t. I could hear him talking to a cashier and he said ” is that the crazy guy “? I don’t understand why he would call me this. He doesn’t know me, I am not crazy, I shop there EVERYDAY and spend about 2K a month on groceries, I am a KNOWN customer. I have never done anything crazy around this prick or behaved in a crazy manner.

This man is NOT a manager… He is a miserable old angry individual who HATES his job and should put to rest by Fairway. The store manager REPRESENTS the company and is to do so in the greatest LIGHT possible. I teach managers ONE thing, if you are angry, upset, whatever, you DO NOT have the luxury of showing people. Misery is infectious… If you have a miserable manager you miserable staff. I shouldn’t be treated like that, and I shouldn’t have this guy yelling at me in such a way! You don’t have to take my word for it, WATCH him yourself and you will see exactly what I am saying.

Fairway stores are beautiful stores and if you RAN them properly they would make massive profits instead of being in debt for over 280M dollars and in bankruptcy. It’s sad that you executives simply seem to not care about your supermarkets. Because if you did, they would make money hand over fists. People want to go to an INVITING atmosphere, they want to be attended to (courteously) they don’t want to be treated like nothing or garbage… I guess the real issue is US. WE allow this to continue ” we the people ” all these protests going on in the world, sad no protests are ever of how we are treated by Corporate America. No gives a XXXXX. The same way men allow a feminist system to keep them away from their children.

I am actually a free lance reporter for several known newspapers, I know some things about Fairway that if it was written would not look good. Illegal things I have noticed. I want this guy TERMINATED and Yuri brought back.

I thank you for your time,

    R.A.H.

PS: From what I see sir, Fairway is like a beautiful woman but her husband DOESN’T take care of her properly, neglects her, doesn’t show her love, attention, etc, so, she just withers and dies.

    Chelsea Store – July 11, 2018, 3:53pm, cashier Julia

I had the worse shopping experience today. I usually shop at Trader Joes but decided to take advantage of the $10.00 coupon and bogo sale that was emailed to me from Fairway. I printed out the $10.00 coupon as well as the sale circular and loaded up the sale items. When I went to pay for my items, the cashier, Julia, said she could not accept my coupon because I just printed it out and did not download it. She consulted with the manager, in the hopes that I would get the $10.00 coupon approved but the manager would not accept the coupon. I just spent $109.00 and Fairway would not accept my $10.00 coupon that was emailed to me!!! I was amazed at the lack of consumer service and lack of professional management especially since I printed out the entire circular with the red $10.00 coupon that I showed to her. The manager said I can bring the downloaded coupon back, with the store receipt but she would only give me store credit and not the $10.00( that should be deducted from my receipt!) I could not believe my ears!
When I got home, sorry that I shopped at Fairway, I went over my receipt. I purchased 4 Locatelli Romano Chunks only to find that I was charged for 3 Locatelli Romano Cheese Chunks instead of being charged for 2 chunks, ignoring the BUY ONE GET ONE FREE sale! This was a refresher course of why I do not shop at Fairway. Very poor customer service in every way. Now I have to go back to the store, I live three avenues and 4 blocks away, bring my receipt and coupon and beg for Fairway not to cheat me again. Who knows what Fairway will slither up this time!

    Corporate,
Yesterday, December 25, 2017, I went to the Fairway Market located in Pelham, NY to purchase last minute items for Christmas dinner. Before leaving my house, I verified on the website for that location that the store would be open and sure enough it showed open and also the hours of operation. Much to my dismay, upon arriving at said location, the doors and store were indeed closed. I called the store on 86th street, where I usually shop because it’s convenient to my business, to verify that the store was open, which it was. I asked if all the Fairway stores were open and was informed that they were. I do not blame that worker for the incorrect information, if Corporate couldn’t even get their information correct on their website.
Needless to say, I was unable to shop at my preferred store due to misadvertisment, and had to scramble to find a store that was open. Inconveniently, I had to travel to a FOOD BAZAAR in the Bronx for my purchase.
    Very disappointing!!!!
    Joanne
