We go to Shaw’s in North Hampton, NH 03862.
The “just for U” sales start on Friday am to either Sunday or it will go from Friday to Thursday along with their other sale items in their flyer. My complaint is every time we purchase sale items especially the “just for U” which I clip every coupon needed to get the sale on that item, never works at the register. We put the correct phone number (which we only use this one)in. The person that is checking us out is aware of this problem. They tell us they have no explanation. This holds us up and people behind us. Still, the amount charged is never correct. We use a calculator to keep tabs on the cost.
Why is this happening? The manager doesn’t seem to care and the people at the register are mad and frustrated so your star rating goes down. Please explain to me why this store is having problems? It’s like pulling teeth every time we check out.

Shaws supermarket on Railroad Ave has to be the worse Shaws around the store is open but no one works the service desk so they will not sell products behind the service desk along with lottery tickets. Gloucester Shaws has always been a sore thumb but this takes the cake and Shaws has lost a loyal customer !!!!!!
Back in the day I used to shop at ONLY your grocery store….(better quality food) our family had to move to Northern Maine and there was no Shaws! I was forced to shop at Hannaford….5 yrs later we moved back home…we are creatures of habit so I continued to shop at Hannaford! Up until last week! I went into Hannaford and in order to get food for my family I was forced to put on a mask! There are 2 good reasons why I cant! I’m ONLY sharing because I hear all the time THERE IS NEVER A REASON NOT TO WEAR A MASK! I have two….first and foremost it goes against my spiritual beliefs…our creator made us to take in oxygen (life) and breathe out carbon dioxide (death) I will not breathe in death AND our creator intended for our faces to be shown AND TO BE PROUD OF HIS CREATIONS! We cannot run from death YOU CAN TRY but it wont work! I wont even try to run from death (I know better) and to force me to put on a mask is the equivalent to asking a Muslim to remove their head wrap!!!!! Number 2 In 1998 I was brutally raped and the perpetrator held my face and mouth with his hand…. I get anxiety just from looking at the mask….I CANNOT put it on! My last trip to Hannaford I was harrassed MANY times….put it on….pull it up….dont pull your mask away from your face….I JUST NEEDED FOOD FOR MY FAMILY! That is MY right! I got a call from my sister and she said she saw someone without a mask walking through Shaws….I shopped at my local Shaws AND WAS NOT HARRASSED……OMG THANK YOU! I cannot thank yall enough! We have a huge immediate family and my grocery bill is WELL OVER 1K a month! CASH too….Shaws will now be where our family shops! Shaws also gains my extended family because they know how much I suffer with all of this and they are also grateful that I can shop for my family and not have an anxiety attack!

My son has worked for Shaw’s for 2 years now and since they hired a new grocery manager , my son who works in grocery has been taken aside and bullied and singled out by this new manager , for things that he is doing that his coworkers are also doing , the other day 2 of these managers took my son in the office and yelled at him to 15 minutes about the way he was stocking the lower shelf’s, sitting on the cart instead of the floor , making him get so upset and cry ! He told me , dad i felt very scared cause there was 2 of them , I did know what to do so i was crying ! No one should go to work and come home that upset , He deserves an apology from both of them for making him so upset , and these managers should go through HR training on how to treat an employee with respect. I personally would like to see them fired from their position. Please email me. I will be contacting my lawyer as well.

Why doesn’t SHAWS have a NO MASK – NO ENTRY policy? I have been to the store in Waitsfield and the one in Berlin, VT and found people in there without face masks. It is your responsibility to make sure you are doing your best to protect the public from becoming contaminated with the COVID virus as they shop in your stores and by not requiring the wearing of masks you are not doing just that.
How do I get someone in charge to recognize the insanity and get them to initiate a NO MASK- NO ENTRY policy in all your stores?

Because they care about customers that CANNOT put on a mask and we are FORCED TO DO SO …..to get food for our families! I have every right to buy FOOD without being forced into submission! Govenors do NOT/CANNOT make laws and if a corporation listens to the govenor and someone stands up and says your violating my rights FEDERALLY the corporations GET IN TROUBLE FEDERALLY with the disability act! What diff does it make how much you spend you are inconsiderate of other shoppers who do have to wear a mask as to not catch anything from people like you. I will not shop in stores who do not require public safety for all their customers not just jerks like you. Btw I spend at least what you spend or more but will bring my business elsewhere to a place that values it’s customers health and well being.
I am over 80 and do not have a smart phone to access your deals. Older folk have flip ones.

I don’t even have a flip phone! I feel this is discrimination against non-cellphone people. Both elderly and economically deprived people. I need these bargains more than people who can afford cellphones! I’m on a fixed income. I can take my business to Stop and Shop. They still let me clip the coupons I need. I fortunately live an equal distance from both stores. I also have access to the elder ride vans. I guess everyone is equal, except the elderly and poor.

I purchased Lucurne half and half twice during the month of December. Both times I got home only to find when I went to use it the next day, there were “lumps” in it. I returned the first time and bought a different brand. Now two weeks later I am about to make a special trip to the store to return it once again(I have company over!). Needless to say I will no longer purchase this brand! It is dated 1/24/20 so not out of code. Also a big waste of my time!

I live in Coventry ,Rhode Island, we use to have a local store in Warwick however it closed a few years ago. I wish it would consider moving closer to Coventry or West Greenwich, they do not have any markets in the area, just a thought. Who knows maybe one day Shaws will move back to the Coventry, West Greenwich area. The closest store is now in Cranston. , it is quite a distance from my home, just thought i would make a suggestion. Shaws at Colchester VT is one of the most racist grocery stores in the United States. They are so racist they not do have a single black person working in that shop. My daughter is black, born in the United states and preparing to enter college in August. She applied for a summer job, interviewed by a very unfriendly lady and was told she passed and was hired. After collecting all the required documents and paper work, the personnel manager told her to wait for a call for her schedule. As a result, my daughter stopped looking for a job. But for more than 3 weeks, this lady keep tossing the 18 yr old. We followed up by talking to two different managers in the shop but none of them was able to help my daughter. Prior to applying for the job, friends advised me not to apply because it is the culture of that shop never to hire a black to work there but I decided to give it a trail. Everything I was told regarding the shop with respect to blacks is true. Recently, my wife went to the shop, bought a $50 dollar groceries and wrote and check of $50. She was asked to wait until a phone call was made to verify the authenticity of the cheque…. a $50 cheque.
Anytime you go to Shaw’s Colchester as a black to shop, they treat you differently. You will only see whites working there. This is very bad. We all pay tax to the federal government and we have equal rights just like any other whites. Shaw’s top management should do something about this. The personnel lady there has to be fired for her attitude. We are in the 21st century and these negative attitudes must sop. Thank you
The Belknap Mall store:Suppose to open at 6am,to out of the last three it has not been.The man responsible Joe Morro(not sure of last name)was rude and didn’t seem to care,after entering store,found deli unmanned,on leaving store,met a man i thought was the manager(was not)told him the situation,said he would relay the message,but also didn’t seem to care.I have done my shopping at Shaws for a long time but I think it’s about to care.I to an end.
When I am told a Shaw’s will close at 6 pm , and I get there at 5:45 pm , and they will NOT let me in the store . Even after I explained that I just needed to pick up some Tylenol and still stood in front of the door and said “ no “ ! I had to go to a gas station and pay 3 times as much as Shaw’s !!! It was Christmas Eve and I was not feeling well , there was no other store open accept a gas station !!! And shame on you for making to teenagers stand out front and do your dirty work !!!! This Shaw’s is in north Merrimack NH , I tried to call the Corp. office but could not get through , I was not surprised !!! I wrote to complain about a flyer item (Crème Fraiche) not being in stock.
The store manager first wrote saying that it was not in the flyer.
I wrote back saying that it was.
The manager later wrote back saying the he had, indeed, found it in the flyer.
He blamed the deli manager for not ordering it.
1. Shaws should have mechanism to ensure that flyer items are available.
2. I would have expected some small compensation for my trouble. I had to make a separate trip for the item.
Tonight (October, 20, 2018) I was at the Shaws Supermarket in Westbrook, Maine. I saw a couple walking their dog around the store, this is the 3rd time that I’ve seen them at the store with their dog. The first 2 times I saw them I figured it is a service dog and they just didn’t put it’s vest on, since it was late at night. However tonight, I saw the dog pulling on the leash And pulling bread off the shelf. I pointed it out and they simply put the bread back on the shelf (meaning that now there are holes in the bag and dog saliva in that bread.) And walked on while yelling at me. I’m sure that being a store that sells food, your company is aware that it is against the law to bring a pet into a store that sells food. So, it’s obvious that the manager isn’t doing their job, and the employees haven’t been telling them about it. So, there need’s to be clear signs stating “No pets allowed” on the doors, and something needs to be done about the manager too.
My girlfriend won $35,000 playing the Shaw’s Manopoly game a few years ago. So I’ve been a loyal Shaws customer. Even though my mother is a programmer for “Hannaford to go.” But now, if this isn’t taken care of by the next time I go to the store, I’m going to go back to Hannaford, I’m also telling my friends along with posting on facebook what I’ve been seeing.
I am very disappointed that shaws is stealing the tactics of Stop and Shop..making us buy in quantity to get the sale price. There are two of us, so I will have to stop shopping there…This only encourages food waste..There is nothing I hate more.. i shop in Gloucester Ma.. This is sad..

Today I Visited you Shaw’s in wiscasset, Maine, July 20th around 5 pm, I n the bakery ,you need to replace the single buy bagel containers ,which are held together with tape, tacky and the single buy muffins and bakery donuts are not enclosed ,open to the air, there were fly’s on the donuts and muffins,I was so grossed out, that is so nasty, I did tell the guy behind the deli Counter., something needs to be done, to keep fly’s bugs of of your bakery food, enclosed glass doors,

I just purchased steak I had to freeze because it was brown date said best by the 19th. also this cut of meat was not what the package was marked is was a cheap cut but not london broil steak. I am contacting the NH attorney general have the form filled out also weights and measures for selling wrong cut of meat as others health.deportment in londonderry, Then mark it steak and its a 1/2 inch thick that is not a steak but a shave. I bought porterhouse steaks the week of the 4 in fridge 2 day took them out and were slimy and brown and stunk just like the meat i just froze. garbage i am done with shaws. high prices and no quality at all. so said i was just going to switch from market basket to them. might as well stay shopping a mb on XXXXXhole or an other it dont matter. in fact trying aldis this week.
I am 77 yrs. old and have been shopping at Shaw’s when they were called ( Star Market) . I shopped there yesterday and I was appalled at the “just for you” deals. I was under the impression it was a special discount for the people who shop at Shaw’s. When I reached the register I was told I needed an APP. I don’t even have a smart phone. So I had to pay full price. Shame on Shaw’s, you give people with smart phones a discount, but the elderly can go suck eggs. Does Shaw’s realize we are on fixed income. I could not afford what it cost to have a smart phone. You really should rethink your customer service policies. Now I will have to start reading the Market Basket ads. and they are a distance from me. Is it possible that I could get an email from your people who make these decisions? Don’t any of them have elderly parents who could use a break? Without a foolish APP? I like Shaw,s, but to be overcharged because of an APP is heartless. I could not even get my water at 99 cents because of an APP. Would someone be kind enough to read my email and get back to me and explain, why an APP is running the grocery store, and no deals for the seniors.

In light of the incident at the Saco Me. store, might I suggest a little diversity training. I realize that there are two sides to each story but I do think it could have been handled differently.
Why is Shaw’s continually discontinuiing products? There have been products I liked very much in the past and now the latest one is the LaChoy products. I make my own Chinese dishes and now I have to go a long distance to another grocery store to get this. There have been other products I liked that I shop elsewhere for: Vermont Style Maypo, Dark chocolate Kit Kats, Irresistible crackers, a couple of cereals that I liked. The fish department doesn’t carry oysters and I have to travel a long way to get them. I am disappointed with the number of products that have been discontinued or not even available. I’m from Massachusetts and most of these things are readily available as well as the 12 years I lived in Portsmouth, NH.
On March 20th, 2018 I was looking through the magazine rack at the Skaket Corners/West St. Shaw’s in Orleans, and found a gun magazine, something I’ve never before found at this store. Because it was in the evening, and I thought the Manager wouldn’t be at the store, I waited until the next day to report this to the employee at the Service desk. I asked for the Manager; she said that the Manager wasn’t there, but that I could leave my name and phone number, and that the Manager would get back to me.
It’s only been one day, but while watching the news about the massacre of 17 high school students and personnel in Parkland, FL I feel compelled to move forward with my complaint about this magazine’s presence in my family food store in my sleepy Cape Cod village.
I am a big supporter of free speech, but the intrusion of this magazine compels me to protest the presence of a gun magazine in this setting.
I am asking you to check with the vendor of magazines to see how this happend. I want it removed immediately. I will go back to my Orleans Shaw’s, and make sure that it is removed from the magazines offered at Shaw’s.
Seventeen human beings slaughtered by semi-automatics. A food store exists to boost health. I love Shaw’s and entreat you to remove deadly advertisements.

I have not been to the Woodsville nh store in a while .I think I know why . Found an item that was priced wrong. cashier checked it out did her best to help out so she went and got help sorry nothing we can do .so after waiting to be check out I bagged my own groceries I guess I will stick with Wal-Mart. Sorry some things just don’t change….. the item was 4.00 more at register than advertised on the shelf.
I shop at Hanover Ma store and corporate should know that a cashier there is very rude to young and old people especially seniors she is also disrespectful to the men and young people who do the bagging for customers.a lot of the baggers live at Cardinal Cushing residents here in Hanover.she has been reported several times and no action seems to take place.many of my friends avoid her when they have to check out. Nancy is her name.it is time something is done.lately I have been going to another market to avoid her nasty,sarcastic way. I feel Shaw’s should be aware of this issue. As a person that has worked numerous retail positions , with many of those in different areas of the grocery business, I cannot for the life of me understand the operations of your Stafford st Worcester Ma store. You would think that at times like a Saturday afternoon, ( probably typically one of the busiest shopping times) when it is very busy, that out of 10 -12 registers, more than 5-6 would be open. I enjoy spending my money at Shaws, but when I only go in for a few items refuse to wait upwards of twenty minutes to get through checkout . That is absurd to have as many as 10 customers per line waiting when there are up to 5 or more registers NOT OPEN !!! I would sooner spend my money and my VALUABLE time at one of the Price Chopper stores within a mile or two.
Very disappointed that my Shaw’s in Wareham has taken Edy’s ice cream off their shelves. This is one of America’s best ice cream products and why are they doing this? It has consistently been a great seller – always restocking. Also, the chocolate, vanilla bean and coffee light is the only one made with buttermilk so I can digest easily. Why bring in another odd fashion-designer product when this old stand – by has been around a long time and consumers love it. I will have to shop at Target and Stop n-Shop now. Very disappointed and upset with management at the Wareham store. They don’t always make the best decisions.

If this had happened only once I would not be complaining but it seems like recently it has happened almost monthly. When food items are discounted, are purchased, assuming that you have received the discount only to return home to find out you didn’t. I recently purchased butter that was on sale for $2.99 reduced from $4.99. I thought my bill was higher than I expected it to be and when I checked I found that the discount was not applied. Normally I would then have to return to the store, explain what happened and they would reimburse me. But this is the holiday season where I have been extremely busy and don’t really have the time to return to the store. Plus, the receipt got thrown away so my proof is gone. It is just extremely annoying when this happens and is exacerbated this time of year when everyone is so busy.
Sorry to rant but this just really annoys me. If I was independently wealthy a few dollars wouldn’t matter, but I’m not.
