A team of students at Georgia Tech began working on a project which would help car owners understand their car electronics, the various systems of their cars, and how or why the Check Engine light is on.

The result is a small device called Fixd. This product hooks up the vehicle’s diagnostic port and uses an app to help you enter information and keep track of maintenance. When the Check Engine light comes on, the app can help to guide you on the problem your car is having and whether or not it is safe to continue to drive the car.

The Fixd device can be left in place or you can plug it in and remove it as the client wishes. In March 2019, the company announced that they were working in combination with VIZR, to create an add-on cell phone product where the GPS would be displayed as a small translucent screen, preventing the need for the driver to check at or look at their cell phone or navigation system.

Tom’s Guide recommended the Fixd product and app as far back as 2017.

    I am trying to communicate to a senior manager in this FIXD company. I canceled this subscription more a year ago and the just took $69.99 from my account. I want to write a presidential complaint to the CEO. They should be more responsible and sensitive to people. I am currently unemployed and can’t afford to give money I may need to eat. They charged me for a subscription I will not be using. I don’t even have a car anymore! I hope I can get to the CEO if this company. I’m also concerned fir so many people that might be experiencing the same situation with this company.

      Edwin I just received my fixd gadget. Trying to speak with someone they overcharged me. Suppose what they advertise is $19.99. they charged me $99.99. WTH. Just saw my bank statement. Who gives them the right to charge more and take your money that’s bullsh*t. I too am on budget. This sucks I’m pissed want my money back.

    I have statements from my bank account showing deposits and withdrawals of money from FIXD Automotive Inc. I have not purchased this product or have had any affiliation with this product or company so I do not understand how or why money is being trafficked into and out of my account from this business. I have tried reaching out and calling this business but have not had any replies and have been put through strenuously long wait times on the phone. I need answers to this issue immediately.

        I just experienced the same thing. Unbelievable ?. The worst Customer Service from a woman name “Sarah”……… Absolutely a horrible place. I’m an Attorney, and will be looking further into this company.
