Wienerschnitzel History

Wienerschnitzel was founded in 1961 by John Galardi in Pasadena, California. While attending college, Galardi was working part time at a taco stand. The business was not doing well and when the owner was unable to repay a loan that Galardi had made to him, he offered to sell him the restaurant for $12,000. A family friend came up with the original name of Der Wienerschnitzel. The name was later abbreviated to Wienerschnitzel in 1977.

The company offers a wide range of hot dogs, chili dogs, and corn dogs, as well as French fries and drinks, mainly as drive through service. Franchise of the business is also available.

Today, Wienerschnitzel is owned by the Galardi Group and has more than 350 locations. The company claims to sell more than 120 million hot dogs each year and has plans to expand with new locations in 2016.

Worst service and food ever got sick from them several times. They employ gang members who don’t wash there hands and don’t even make employees were gloves. Don’t eat there any more this place is dirty. Plus there employess have an altitude on California

You guys are f-ing garbage! I’ve been eating here my entire life, and go frequently. I just ordered your tamales, and they’re like 2 F-ING INCHES LONG FOR $3! F**K YOU AND THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN, AND AM MAKING IT MY MISSION TO PUT YOU OUT IF BUSINESS IN ALBUQUERQUE. YOU ARE RIPPING EVERYBODY OFF. then I call the f-ing location, and they tell me “it’s not their problem.” You’re f-ing dead to me

Wow, Devon. Seems like you’re taking this a little too hard. Okay, you didn’t like the tamales, don’t order them next time. I’m a customer too, but just because you felt the tamales weren’t a good value, you don’t need to flame the place. If you were my customer, I probably would have refunded you. It’s not worth $3 to lose a customer as loyal as you. Don’t sweat the small stuff buddy.

I haven’t been to Wienerschnitzel since I was 19. I’m 28 now. And my first expierence back was AWFUL. Some where in Mira Loma off Mission… it was bad enough I had a hard time understanding the man working the drive thru (who is, I guess the manager) I wanted to order the ac on blazin guacamole burger with fries and a drink. Simple right? NO! He kept refusing to give me my order and kept trying to force me to get the combo 3 some classic burger… like he seriously refused to give me what I wanted and his ecscuse was that it was “cheaper” I DON’T CARE! If I wanted you’re classic burger that’s what I would have ordered!!!! This manager SERIOUSLY LACKS in customer service!! We sat in the drive through literally arguing over it. It’s like he couldn’t comprehend what I was saying. AWFUL MANAGMENT!!!! Who tries to force a customer into eating something they don’t want?? Absolutely RIDICULOUS. I’m diabetic… and was feeling awful… so thank you to Gus Jrs for not only giving me what I ordered without complaint but also delivering nice customer service. I think I’ll wait another 10 years before I ever go back.

I paid for an order that I did not receive and now it’s been two weeks and still no answer, I went up there to the location and talk to the manager and she’s as rude as her employees. I left countless of messages on they machine and no call back. I want a f-ing phone call from upper management so they realize what they are doing and that’s stealing.

I just visited your store number 459 in West Jordan, Utah. I ordered 3 corn dogs and 2 chili dogs on your 5 for 5.95 special. I was given 2 corn dogs and 3 chili dogs. I also ordered a small fry that should have been 1.29. THE TOTAL i WAS CHARGED WAS 8.24. I t should have been 7.33. That’s a difference of .91. I went back and complained about the bill and was told by the manager that the small fries was ringing up incorrectly as 1.69 and she could refund me the .40 difference. She did replace the chili dog with the corn dog I ordered, but I was upset she wouldn’t refund the whole amount owed. It’s not a big deal, but when I’m told “it’s just the way the computer does the taxes” I get upset. I enjoy your products and feel I should get the .91 overcharged or some kind of coupon for my trouble. Thanks, Mike.

I drove thru store #013 in San Diego. So after telling the employee that I had coupons, I ordered a polish sandwich, large chilil cheese fries & latge chocolate shake. At the window he told me it was $15.18 & when I handed him my coupons I expected the price to reduce by $2 (the value of my coupons). He tried to enter the coupon codes but the price wouldn’t reduce. He told me the order was put as a meal which reduced the price by $1.06 so ofcourse I asked him to fix that so I’d get a better price. He didn’t seem real happy but did it. The total was, after the coupons $13.17. He handed me my food & receipt but when I got home, I was charged an additional $3 for “misc”. All of the food charges seem accurate but what is available@ weinerschnitzel call “misc” for $3? I tried calling the store several times but there is no answer

The Mexican workers that work at your Santa Monica store don’t like Black People. It’s so out front. I have never eaten there and didn’t have a problem with your employees being either rude or disrespectful or both. I won’t be going back. But if nothing is done ✅ then I promise I will put it all over social media that Black lives and Black Dollars 💵 don’t matter to Der Weinershnitzel. Those three Mexican workers need to be Fired. Especially Rene G. Who waved off me and my girl as if to say I took your money 💰 now get out of here. He said he was to busy to say hello or thank you 😊 even though there was no one behind us in the drive –thru. My girl says she won’t go back until we get an apology from corp. And the negative culture and racist mexicans against Black People is Fired. The NAACP and The Media will be contacted. I called your corporate office with no success and no answer. Thank You 😊

My daughter asked me the 15th of april to go get her some chili cheese fries because you were having a promation on them so iwent to your store on 30 rd and D in grand junction colorado and they wouldn’t give me the promational price. So i had to pay full price. If you going to gave a promotion have it on all your stores. Im on a fixed income and i dont think i got a faie deal

I went to the Fontana, CA Weinerschnitzel store with my daughter a few days ago and the store was a complete mess to begin with and honestly idk how they operate there without OSHA not coming in to close them down. There was 2 roaches back to back up on the counter as one was eating the other one that was dead!! Besides that my order was completely wrong! I asked for the manager and here comes a young woman named Autum who introduced herself as the new manager there. 1st of all she looked a hell of a mess like she was up all night and smelled terribly of marajuana and my daughter noticed white crystallized powder. And that sure wasn’t any baking powder, when you smell marajuana that strong and look at a person as well as notice crystallized powder it sure doesn’t take a brain scientist to put two and two together as this is a major drug addict. Plus she was very 😡 angry when she approached us to the extent of arguing with me. I thought and said excuse me maem I’m the customer your not to say anything rude to me as the customer is always right as I’m only saying that your employee handed me someone else’s order. She said NO, NO, NO ill go back and pull the ticket. I told her no thank you, I’d actually like a refund. She told me that they don’t give refunds after a customer takes the food. I tried saying I didn’t leave!!!! I looked in the bag and seen it’s not our order. I was so mad and told her to forget it and left. As she walked away she cursed me out and said good leave then and don’t ever f-ing come back here again you stupid XXXXXXes! I will NEVER EVER Return to any Wienershcnitzel again in my entire life. I’d rather starve before I make another stop at any of these fast food Wienersnitzel’s. I also tried calling corporate office and no answer. Omg 😲 I can see why all the bad comments are on here. So here’s just another strike to add to the list! I want other customers to be aware that the Wienersnitzel in Fontana CA by Kaiser Hospital has a NEW DRUG ADDICT MANAGER NAMED AUTUM! This is horrible..😡

Out here in Colorado then dont honor coupons i sined up for tex offers the 50 min corn dogs for 10 was the last time i tryed and they told me it was for California only when i sined up i sined up for colorado as thats where i live thank please fix

Before my road trip I went in the drive thru and ordered 2 corn dogs, 1 all beef kraut dog on a pretzel bun with mustard, and 1 old fashioned fudge sundae. About 5 min later I bit into one of the corn dogs and the dough in the middle was not cooked and was like raw pancake mix. Then I realized I had no mustard on my kraut dog nor was there any in the bag. I took a bite out of the kraut dog and realized I had a regular bun when I know I ordered and paid for a pretzel bun. I had one napkin in my bag and no spoon for my sundae. What the hell is going on?

Last night me and my husband went through the drive thru and ordered 3chili cheese dogs 1 chili cheese fry and 2 chili cheese burgers as I started eating my chili cheese burger there was stainless steal wire in my burger I’m very upset I called the store and yes I understand replacing my order is okay for them but I think to myself it could have been worse if I got hurt and it poked me in my mouth or I swollen it and something happen I also have a picture of it as well corporate isn’t answering my phone calls

Well I went to Wienerschnitzel and ordered my chili dogs with onions we got them through the drive-through we left after we got our order and then oh we got down the road about maybe 10 miles before I could start eating and my hotdogs or so overly cooked it looks like they were cooked in a microwave so tough and wrinkled could not eat sickening food when I got to Kramer Junction I had to go into Subway to get me something to eat because I could not eat their hotdogs we do end up throwing it away but I do got one hot dog with me I save that for evidence I want my money back but no answer at The Barstow or no answer at the cooperate office

I went 2 Wienerschnitzel on August 5th 2016. I ordered 1 chili cheese dog and two orders of chili cheese fries 2go. When we got home we begin to eat my Smalls daughter begin to eat her chili cheese Fry’s and found two small hairs n the food. I called the Gilroy office and they hung up on me.

Went to upland and ordered a all beef Chile cheese dog. Very very little Chile on it. I called she said I’m only allowed to put one ounce. But if u order a reg Chile dog u will get more. I work in West Covina they put more chile. I question it all. I want my 3.23 back.

I JUST LEFT WIENERSCHNITZEL STORE #801 IN HIGHLAND, CA FROM ORDERING. A CHILI CHEESE. BURGER WITH ONIONS. IUPSET AND NOT FEELING. IM HIGHLY UPSET I HAD TO GET A REFUND. BECAUSE THE MEAT WAS SPOILED!!!! I SMELLED IT IMMEDIATELY WHEN I OPENED THE PAPER. EVEN THEN I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS THE ONIONS. BUT WHEN I BIT INTO IT, OMG!!!!!! MY STOMACH INSTANTLY BEGAN TO HURT. IT MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS GOING TO VOMIT.. SO I TASTE THE MEAT SEPARATELY FROM THE BREAD, CHEESE, AND ONIONS AND I ONCE AGAIN IMMEDIATELY GOT THE SAME UPSETTING FEELING IN MY STOMACH!!! SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE AND QUICK!!! IM PRETTY SURE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT WAS SERVED A SPOILED PATTY AT THAT ESTABLISHMENT. .

Went to order food first time in a long time. Cashier took my order then went to make my food. I asked him why he wasnt wearing gloves…his redponse I was my hands aftrr handling money. I watched the whole time and called him on it. He washed his hands as did the other employees after hearing my concerns. He took out a new bun for me but put back the contaminated bun for someone else. I work in the food industry and GLOVES are required. I will go back catch the employees fing with our food contaminating us with their flith. So disappointed.
