Safe Home Security was founded in Cromwell, Connecticut, in 1988 by current CEO David Roman. The company sells and installs residential and commerical burglar alarms and security systems. The company also offers fire systems, security alert systems, and medical alert systems.
The Connecticut Attorney General filed a civil action against the company in 2007 for unfair practices, including installing defective equipment, installing systems that could not be monitored, failure to honor their warranty and unfair debt collection practices. The case was resolved in March of 2014 when the judge sided against Safe Home Security.
Safe Home Security has since expanded, acquiring Pinnacle Security and gaining a new equity partner. The company states that they are looking forward to resolving past problems and making a fresh start.
