Sweet Sam’s Baking Company was founded in 1996 in the Bronx, New York, by David and Lyn Grogan. The company is mainly a pie and cake bakery operation. Lyn began by perfecting her pound cake recipe and selling it out of their apartment kitchen.
The company grew very quickly, with the first store baking for 3 days a week, then delivering the next three days. Within a few years, the company had to move to an 80,000 square foot facility to accommodate their growing business. Sweet Sam’s is known for using premium ingredients and using recycled materials for containers, such as boxes and paper.
