I am leaving a complaint hoping that someone at the corporate office is willing to stick there heads out of there offices and see what’s really going on with the there HR’s and how they are handling complaints and with KAR ETHICS. Me and my fiancee worked for Adesa Los Angeles for over a year. We were to get hired on by Lot Ops Supervisor and Manager and they knew about our relationship. We were told by a lead driver that the company don’t hire couples and a year later this same lead driver told us on 4/4/19 that we can not work together Per the new manager and supervisor. I went to HR back in Nov 2018 to let her know what he is saying and to ask if there was policy on family or couples working together I was told only if either one of us were above the other which were not, we both are auction drivers and I also let her about manager she told me to speak with my supervisor and ask him why we need to separate. My fiancee spoke to the supervisor and he told my fiancee “that there is a new sheriff in town”. I even called corporates HR early this year and asked about policy, I was told the same as long as neither one of use are above the other, she told me I should file a complaint with my HR I told her I didn’t trust our HR. We were recently terminated 4/30/19 not even a week after I made verbal harassment complaint with HR about my manager on 4/24/19. The manager start having coworkers spying on me he wanted to know if, why and what I was doing in the sold lot. It started to feel like he was stalking me and every Friday as I work I -lane he would be stand by the wall in five pack staring at me with his phone in his hand. There were even time were I be by myself work and out of nowhere he would be standing or walking as if he’s looking for something. It became to stressful to where I wanted to quit. I sometime just cry as I would be moving cars. I called the ethics hotline 4/5/19 I explained and wanted answers , but I was told that That’s not what they do. I was giving an ID number but I told the operator if he can hold off on sending the complaint through. I wanted to speak to an attorney first. Time went on and nothing has changed.. I believe I was removed from GM- Maven fleet department were I worked for 4 month because I was seen by the supervisor in the sold lot looking for GM recalls. I was text by the supervisor on 1/22/19 telling me I go back to main working under lead van drivers tomorrow. I received another text by GM supervisor that I report back to Lot Ops Supervisor tomorrow as well. April 2019 came and I had enough. I started making phone calls to EEOC and DFEH waiting for our forms to come in the mail I called some attorneys to get advise. The manager did not want us around each other so much that they moved my fiancee to another lot. On 4/15/19 my fiancee was called to the office by the supervisor. The supervisor told him is going to another lot starting Mon 4/22/19. The supervisor knew we lived 45 mins away and the we carpool. My fiancee told the him how we carpool he was told that was a personal problem. He told the Sup he didn’t want to go and how he needed to stay in sold lot since the manager took his help away. He had to handle the sold cars, incoming (ALLY’s cars), the hospital and help customers. He was told the they needed him at Galena lot. Mon 4/22/19 he went to Galena once found out he was not needed. There was nithing for him to do. He was told by Galena lot supervisor he needed to go back to main lot and get his work phone updated so he can look for cars. On his break drive our car back to main lot because i started my FLOW and I needed my tampons out our car since us women are not supplied them. It took him 10 mins to drive to main lot. I was on my break and waited for him. He came I gathered my tamponss and we both went inside. We both made stop him to the restroom and I went to get something to drink. We walked back to main lot the supervisor wasn’t in his office so head to H- Lane were I was walking to get a car and head back to Galena. The car he left in broke down at guard shsck. Later that day around 2:30pm he was giving a write-up for a 55 min extended break. He was given a still photo if his time. He explained to HR manager and to the lot ops supervisor what had happened and how the manager saw him at the guard shack with the broken down car he was in. They told him why didn’t the manager tell them and he was still getting the write-up. That’s when kind of knew that it was the manager that was given him the write-up. The next day I was called HR around 10am. I was getting a write-up for a 9 min extended break for the day before. The manager and HR gave me my write-up. I didn’t not feel comfortable explaining why in front of the man I was being harassed by. I tried to see HR later that day, but she was busy, so I went to see her the next day to explain my 9 mins and that’s when I gave a verbal complaint. I told her me ans my fiancee will write the complaint out and give it to her if not the end of the week next next for sure. I wanted to believe she would tell the manager, but I kinda knew she would. By the end of the day I noticed my van leader was was acting different and I didn’t see the manager that much. 4/25/19 I knew she told. Hardly anyone on the lot was speaking to me. I didn’t make it in on Monday, so on Tue we were running late due to few accidents on the freeway we made to work as I was get my vest and backpack my fiancee took my badge and clocked me in. He saw HR and she asked were as I he told her I was getting my vest and that I was right behind him said ok. I walked through the lobby was not even thinking I went to main lot and started to work. Later that day around 2:30pm we were both called to HR. I made there first HR said she wanted to talk to my fiancee first. He finally showed up and he went inside to speak to HR and the supervisor. As I sit and wait I notice to if the head security guys were stand back by HR office. We he came out of the office he wasn’t wearing his vest. I went in they ask how often does my fiancee clock me in and if I clocked in that morning the I was given a HR policy handbook and was asked read a section that was highlighted about timekeeping. I did not know about this policy because I was never told us. It was not in our hiring packet and if it was policy why were other workers doing it? I have been reading a lot of negative and bad reviews about this company on and about KAR Ethics on how nothing is done. I hope this gets to the right person. I filed a complaint to KAR ETHICS hotline 5/2/19. I hope to hear back soon. And we both have a appointment with DFEH. no longer have a job and my benefits from unemployment has been denied.
