The Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory was founded in 2006 in Key West, Florida, by current owners George Fernandez and Sam Trophia. The company operates a butterfly park and tropical garden attraction.
The park houses more than 50 different species of butterflies, as well as tropical flowering plants, an educational facility, waterfalls, and birds that do not threaten the butterflies, such as Zebra Finches and quail. Butterflies that have passed on are mounted and sold. Guests can get an up close view of live caterpillars feeding on plants. The park also offers wedding services, as well as a gift shop.
Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory is a popular attraction and is currently on the market as of a 2012 listing. It is unknown after the sale if the site will continue to be operated as it is today.
