The Halal Guys was founded in 1990 by Egyptian immigrant Mohamed Abouelenein as a food cart on the corner of 53rd & 6th Street in New York City. The company was originally founded as a hot dog cart, but Abouelenein believed hot dogs were not really a complete meal and that Muslim taxi drivers were looking for Halal meals.
Today, the company has more than 200 mostly franchised locations in the US and globally. Some are still food carts and others are storefront style restaurants. The company has moved past hot dogs and now serves chicken or gyro meals served with rice and a red or white sauce. Customers have been known to stand for several hours to get one of these meals and Halal wraps continue to be the most popular item at the food carts.
The company opened 7 locations in 5 states, one in South Korea, the other in Canada. The Halal Guys headquarters is now located in Astoria, New York.

Every time I try to order the chicken tikka platter at your Fresh Meadows, Queens, New York location, I always get told that it will be 30-45 minutes . Then they try to convince me to try a different chicken plate that is already made. This I don’t mind if it happens once or twice. This has happened six times in a row. I am sure I am not the only customer having this experience. And if I were the franchiser and a franchisee was ruining my brand, I would probably have a stern talking with them. I am a limo driver in NYC and I have been a loyal customer since 1990 back at W 53rd Street & 6th Avenue. I just want to be able to order a delicious chicken tiki platter and not be lied to.

My daughter had an incident at one of your location in Los Angeles, California. The manager name Iris Espina was very rude about the incident. She was laughing about the incident that happened inside the restaurant, and she said she is frustrated because why we want to complain about it! She did not even say sorry that happened to daughter who is only 16 years old.
Very rude manager and vary unprofessional.
She doesn’t know and she don’t have training on how to talk and handle customers. Thus, we file a police report.
I tried calling corporate and left messages but no one is not picking the phone nor reply to my messages!
I need the corporate person contact number and email who is handling customer complain seriously! Thank you

I would like to remain anomymous. I visit the halal guys in Ahwatukee,in Phoenix . Its the Foot Hills Plaza,Ahwatukee,Located on Ray Rd and 48th street. I actually have a strange complaimt. On Thursday August 30,I was nextdoor to your establishment,at the Kool cuts for kids getting my childs hair cut. There was a pounding at the salons back door, and the stylist had to excuse themselves from their client to answer it. When she answered the door, the girl s that work at your establishment were screaming at her to “MOVE HER F@#$ing CAR” apparently, the general manager wasnt able to back out because they parked a little too closely. There was no reason for those 2of your workers to act like savages, screaming and swearing. They also kept banging and yelling while she went to get her keys. My child had to hear that and got upset. Im angry they spoke like that. What type of ppl do you have working for you.,i wont ever go to your store again, Very Bad business
