Thirty-One Gifts History

Thirty-One Gifts was founded in 2003 by current CEO Cindy Monroe.  Monroe founded the company in the basement of her Chattanooga, TN home.  Equipped with a sewing machine, Monroe wanted to fill the void she noticed in the personalized gifts industry while working as a consultant for Pampered Chef.

In 2009, sales were $38 million.  In 2010, sales reached $100 million.  The next year, $482 million, followed by $782 million in 2012.

In 2011, the company was forced to put a freeze on accepting new consultants as they were overwhelmed with signups (over 5,000 per month).  The company was forced to lay off 182 people in 2012 due to large capital investments in infrastructure to help with brining on more consultants.  As a result, sales were flat at $760 million for 2013.

In late 2014, the company acquired Utah based jewelry company, Jewel Kade.

In 2015, the company has more than 2,000 employees and 100,000 independent consultants.  The company is now headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.  Cindy Monroe is still the CEO of the company.  Her husband, Scott, serves as the Chief Brand Officer.

Today is June 8th and I received the “Sun’s out, Fun’s out” flyer special for June 1 – July 31, yesterday from my consultant. I am so NOT satisfied with you company!!! A co-worker and myself went on line yesterday to place an order for the Essential Storage Tote in the new camper design and it was not showing on line. My consultant called her director today and found out they all were sold out on June 1st. This is the 1st day that they came out. UNREAL!!!! Did you get have 10 of them? Was it a black Friday rush?? This is not like Thirty One. I have ordered for many years and just had an $700 order several months ago but it will probably be my last.
I know that this is not my consultants fault because she is so fantastic. This is a Corporate fault. What is the problem?

I ordered 2 items, that ended up becoming “back ordered”. However, I leave for vacation next week and truly wanted the items for the trip, which is why I ordered them in the first place. NOTHING was Embroidered. If you sell items that says “while supplies last” why did my items become “back ordered”? Who took precedence over me to be able to receive their items… Plus delivery needs a signature and I’ll be on vacation next week which means my items may be returned depending on when they finally get shipped… Truly disappointed in the way I’ve been done and my Consultant has been very apologetic through the entire horrible process that isn’t her fault…

I hate to complain it’s not about your products it was the lady doing my party..she did not interact with me at all through whole online party process…then order was in a week before she message me to set up pickup to meet.then I was told I get free gift from her for having party..No free gift I text then she says I took 2nd deal. Which was 5.00 off my order which I never got..says remind her next time..i will never order from her again she need more training on being a consultant..just was irritating process. I hate complaining.

Its been months and have not heard about product support. Ordered a backpack this summer for sons graduation and it arrived with staps half sewn and i haven’t been able to get an acceptable answer. I want this made right. Please help!

I placed an order with Sarah Greene from Massillon, Ohio in May. She ordered the wrong key fob. She keeps saying she’s going to check into why I haven’t received the correct one but can never get an answer. I’m not happy with her or the customer service that I’m receiving. I want the fob or my money back immediately. I’ll never order again from her.
