Mr. Chicken History

Mr. Chicken was founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1968 by Robert Simmens. The company operates a chain of franchised fast food chicken restaurants in Ohio.

The company offers the same fried chicken, coleslaw, as well as biscuits and gravy recipes that Robert Simmens used when the restaurant was founded. Michael Simmens, son and now CEO of the chain, says that trying new things did not bring them success, but rather, staying the same did. The chicken comes from local farms, is hand breaded and fried, and their famous coleslaw is hand chopped and mixed every day with fresh, local ingredient.

Mr. Chicken now has 8 locations in Ohio and employs approximately 200 persons. Headquarters are located in Willoughby, Ohio.
