Mondelez International History

Mondelez International is a multinational confectionery and food and beverage conglomerate headquartered in Illinois.

The company was founded in 1923 by Thomas H. McInnerney as National Dairy Products Corporation. It was formed to execute a Rollup strategy, where multiple small companies are merged, in the fragmented dairy industry. National Dairy acquired 55 firms from 1923 to 1931.

James L. Kraft started a wholesale door-to-door cheese business in Chicago in 1903. In 1909 he was joined by his four brothers to form the J.L. Kraft and Bros. Company. By 1914 they were selling 31 varieties of cheese around the U.S. and opened a cheese factory in Illinois. In 1915 they invented a pasteurized cheese that did not need refrigeration. In 1924 they changed their name to Kraft Cheese Company and went public on the New York Stock Exchange.

In 1930, when the National Dairy Company bought Kraft, it had forty percent of the cheese market in the U.S and was the third-largest company in the country.

In 1969 National Dairy changed its name to Kraftco Corporation, and in 1974 to Kraft, Inc. These changes reflected the changes in the company, where the focus was more on cheese than other dairy products and the original Kraft products continued to sell well.

In 1980 Kraft merged with Dart Industries, maker of Duracell batteries and Tupperware, among others.

In 1988 Phillip Morris purchased Kraft for $12.9 billion. The next year Kraft merged with Philip Morris’ General Foods to make the new company, Kraft General Foods,

In 2009 Kraft bought British confectionery Cadbury for $19.5 billion.

Today Mondelez, formerly Kraft, makes some of the best known snack brands globally. These include Oreo, Chips Ahoy!, Triscuit, Club Social, Milka, Cadbury Dairy Milk, Trident, Halls, and Chiclets. It has 100,000 employees globally  and $36 billion in revenue annually.

I am working in the Company since 01/04/2014 and my job is Maintenance planner
My relations with my colleagues and managers in the work are good. They witness my good reputation and dealing with clients in a good manner. I don’t expose to any penalties from the company, but I get my salary and always is increased for my efforts in the work.
My work nature is to compensate the store balance by the spare parts of my lines and to follow up the productions by the cards of the defaults to notify an external contractor for repairing or purchasing the accessories for the line. I have been chosen for my efficiency in the work to be a one of the responsible group for the annual inventory of the machines and assets related to the Factory.
– I want to refer that the issue is divided into two sections
1- There is a theft, fraud and neglect process inside the company
There is a theft, fraud and neglect process inside the company that led to shortage in spare parts store in amount of 3 Million (there are evidences for this authenticated by certified mails), this neglect is still under operation
There is a spare parts clarified in the store balances and SAP, but in fact this is not existed in the store, taking into consideration that there is a receipt from supplier to the store, and the receiving permission is also exists on their invoices and the big default that this losses as of August 2017 in amount of 1.7 million, numbers and supply order
2- There is a excluding to me and bad treatment. This means that the company intend to accuse me with this theft. As of 01/09/2018, I surprised that the private mail of me does not work and my account was closed in the device. Upon informing both of Mohamed Hassan Al-kashef , my manager and Karim Alsayed, the maintenance manager, they said to me that they do not know anything about this issue.
After that I contacted with Computer administration and found out that my mail and account were closed by a direct mail from my Manager!!!!
Then I give my device to the computer administration existing in the factory because of its useless case, whereas my work nature depends on the device; however I was trying to work by using the device of my colleague in his User Name.

After passing around of a week, I was in an accident (outside the work hours) that results for a leave for 2 weeks. When I return to my work, I surprised that my colleagues informed met that the Computer Administration wants to regain my mobile ( sisco), immediately I directed to the responsible official. I asked him for what happened, then he said that this is true and there are emails in which mentioned to regain the mobile from you. When I required to give me a discharge from this custody, he said that we shall contact with Human Recourses Director, Omar Nabil. Upon contact with him, he said that I shall direct to Human Resources Department or to Karim Alsayed and he will inform me about this. I said to him that he shall give me my device or the discharge, because I received this custody in which work secrets are existed, and what is the evidence that he receive the device from my custody?
After that, I surprised when my Director informed me that Human Resources Director wants to meet me in his Office. During this meeting he gives me a decision of cessation from work for 15 days includes in the salary. He said to me that a accused to assault the Official of Computer Administration (It’s kind of laughable, because I am known among my collogues and Directors with calm and politeness). This was happened on 03/08/2018. When asking him about the cessation reason, he answered that there is an investigation in a problem existing inside the store and you exposed to cessation because of this issue. I asked him, is there anyone else exposed to cessation?, he said to me it is not your business and I am free to suspend anyone starting from the Factory Directors till the lowest worker in the company. Upon asking him “there is a possibility to continue the work during the investigation”, he said yes, but I want to suspend you. As of this date I was suspended. After passing every 15 days, Ramy Ibrahim, the official of Human Resources Administration contacts and informs me with suspension for another 15 days!!!!!!

I conducted a minutes in the police station which ensured that the Company owns my own custody and refuses to discharge me.
I directed to labor office to claim, after passing the 15 days of suspension and return to my work, I surprised that Ramy Ibrahim informs me to sign a suspension decision for another 15 days, then after signing, he refused to give me a copy of suspension decision, this will allow to the company to dismiss me due to the absence in Insurances Administration.

The company was attended in the labor office’s location in one of the sessions to solve the problem. I faced Omar Nabil for his refusing to give me the discharge of my custody, he said to me, do you have a copy of custody document which you received?!!!!!

I said to him that this procedure is not followed in the company and asked him the same, do you have any of the custody document which you received?!!!, he did not answer.

When I asked him to give me the gift coupon determined by the company administration, he said to me that I suspended from work and shall have no right to receive it, taking into consideration that my colleagues, who also existed in investigation circuit, received their gifts except me, he said that the company is free to distribute the gifts for anyone, is this considered as a defalcation performed by Omar Nabil????

To be in a clarifying situation with you, there is a mafia in the company that despoils and steals, so I want to talk with one of the your responsible persons to follow up the problem, because I have many of documents which I get by luck and clarify that the Company in Egypt is located in the danger circuit.

*In Conclusion
1- Why did not the investigation begin till now?
2-Why I the only person who suspends from work?
3-why the parties, who were requested to investigate, did not suspend from work like me?
4-Gift prohibition and acquisition by the Human Resources Director
And there are many questions for which I want answers……………

I’m done with eating any Nabisco brand products. If you want to move your bakery brands to Mexico, then I’m done eating them. That’s what I call greedy and don’t care about American jobs!!!!!

This is stupid many people need jobs. American or not. What I call greedy is you thinking that only Americans need jobs. How else are people supposed to provide for their families? They could live on the streets and that this opportunity happens and they get a job and then their able yo provide for their families. Did you think about that? No, i believe you did not.

Hello Mondelez International Executives,

I see you appear to be an American Corporation, yet you have exported so many American jobs to Mexico it is sickening. KRAFT/Mondelez is as un-American as any corporate entity can get. No longer will I purchase any Made in Mexico Oreos or Honey Maid Crackers, or anything for that matter that’s branded KRAFT or Nabisco or has the Mondelez name on the package. Shame on you for choosing foreign labor over U.S. workers. Mondelez totally disgusts me.

REG: Trident Spearmint Gum has removed Natural Flavoring

I love Trident Spearmint gum.
Natural Flavoring is what I look for on the gum so always bought Trident, now it has been removed.
I have read Spearmint has health benefits and other than drinking Spearmint tea I like to chew the gum with this natural juice in it. Although, I know health claims probably can’t be made.
I liked the natural flavor.
To me now the flavor is now more of a plastic kind.

Yes, I am very disappointed with you phone access and also email. Your voice answered machine operator says they can not answer calls at this time? Also, they do not explain why?

You say you are one of the best-known companies in the World. Also, your company lack in customer service. What is the problem with your customer service on the phone?

I f you are run one of the best World of companies why is it when I ask one of your phone people could not give me a direct answer to the following question! What are the 4 Added sugars? He told me they can not give that out and to contact you and that is what I am doing. I want to know as a customer what I am buying when I purchased a box of Nabisco Reduced Fat box. You just might cost a person their life because your company will not release the very important which includes 4g Added sugars!?

A copy of this memo is being sent by me to the FDA office.

Someone at your company has made it so that I can not access my payroll information. It is illegal when I have direct deposit set up to deny me from getting my pay stubs online to print up for my records. It does not matter that I no longer work for you company. If I have to I will contact the proper authorities to deal with you. Trust me people you do not want to work as a merchandiser for this company.

This is obviously the norm with Mondelez. Had an appointment for an interview, she never called after I rearranging my schedule and this happened 3 times. I followed up each time to arrange another time. I then got an e mail that she MIGHT call and I let her know I needed a set time. She had someone call that I could barely understand and was unable to answer even one of my questions. 3 days later I received an e mail letting me know I was not being considered, They must like people that don’t follow through and are unprofessional. A shame since I’m a great salesperson and actually keep my word.

News reports say that Republican Presidential contender, Donald Trump, has vowed to stop eating Oreo cookies. Why? Because the same news reports say that Mondelez announced in July that it will eliminate around 600 jobs at their Chicago plant and will invest $130 million in four new production lines in a plant in Mexico. If this is true, I will join Mr. Trump and eliminate Oreos from my diet. Investing in Mexico while eliminating jobs in Chicago is un-American. I’ll be watching Mondelez very closely in the future. It is unpatriotic to invest in foreign countries while Americans need jobs. SHAME ON YOU!

I reseach your company, l felt I have some qualification for the job opening.l felt prejudged and was not given a chance. Supervisor stated they wanted someone more qualified which. supervisor ask me to go out in the field to see if I like the job. I stated,I like the job. After she found out I was a black female and my age l didn’t qualify for the job. Why would she ask me to go in the field to meet the person, that i need to observe, if she was not going to hire me? I have in lifting and customer service experience. The person, I went to observed,stated they needed alot of people. My focus was to gain employ wih you company an be asset to your team.
