I visited the Magic Mart in Galax VA today with the lady I take care of, who is in a wheelchair. She found 2 lovely dresses to try on. Guess what NO handicapped dressing room and they said they will not refund her money if we bought them and took them back if they don’t fit. I am pretty sure this violates the disabilities act!

I recently shopped at the Magic Mart in Oceana, spending a pretty good amount of money, but after arriving home, I looked over my receipt and saw that the sales clerk had accidently scanned a bottle of Old Spice body wash twice. I called and talked to an employee and explained and she told me to just bring the receipt back and they would fix it. Fine, right??!!! Noooooo!!!! I was working so I asked my mom to run the receipt by there, which she did…only to call me and tell me how embarrassed they made her feel. Bringing several employees and managers around and even threatening to pull the cameras to double check. Really?? It’s a $5 bottle of body wash. Not like I was saying they double charged me for a tv or something. Like, seriously… give my money back or give me the bottle you charged me for. Simple fix! No wonder if rather drove and shop Wal Mart! Get it together Magic Mart. We live in a small town. You can’t afford to treat your good customers like criminals!! Grrrrrr!!!!!

I bought curtains for my bedroom. It is said to let something hang for a couple of weeks and if it doesn’t grow on you—take it back. I went to return the curtains and had my receipt AND the card I bought it with. The manager would not take them back because I didn’t have the hanger it originally hung on? Are you serious? Are you short hangers for your store? I was wanting to also purchase an 800.00 sofa that day, but forget that. God forbid there would be an issue with the sofa and i would be stuck. I will call corporate in the morning and will NEVER but a thing there again. The manager was rude and unfriendly, not helpful in any way.

Good morning, on Saturday October 7 I purchased a table and chair set from our local Magic Mart Store. Upon completion of assembling the table I noticed a few dings in the side of the table that had wood exposed. I also found after assembly of three of the six chairs they are quite uneven (rocking back and forth on flat surface) some up to 5/8 of an inch. I really don’t want to unassemble the table and chairs to return to store as we really like the set. The chair model is Brigham counter stool item 180-430 (LAP) and the table is a model 180-441F. Please advise of a remedy.

Thank You

I was shopping at the Beckley, WV Magic Mart on Aug. 8 2017 and I needed some help me at the Jewelry counter. I heard 2 employees page someone to come and assist me but nobody came. I was willing to make a $50 dollar purchase not including the rest of my cart. This is not the first time I’ve had this problem. Some of the employees make you feel like you are bothering them and they are not friendly at all. There is a nice female manager that has worked there for a long time . She’s very friendly and helpful. I really enjoy shopping here , I wish the customer service was better

I was shopping at the Beckley, WV Magic Mart on August 9, 2017 and I needed help at the jewelry counter . I heard 2 employee page someone for someone to come and assist me but no one showed up. I was willing to make a $50 purchase just at the jewelry counter. Not counting the rest of my cart. This is not the first time I’ve had a problem trying to get someone to assist me . I enjoy shopping at this store but some of the employees make you feel like you are bothering them. The female manager is pretty nice and helpful but there are a few employees that do not know the meaning of customer service.

On Monday, July 31st, 2017, I visited the Lexington, NC store with plans to buy several pair of Wrangler jeans at the advertised special price. I had a hard time finding anyone in the store who could tell me where they might be found. Eventually, I ran down a man who told me that I needed to talk to the woman in charge of that department. She said she had to go up front… but at my insistence she called “up front,” saying that she had to help a customer. She said that with the same enthusiasm that she’d have use with a visit to a dentist. (Didn’t start well, did it?) Next she told me that they didn’t have the advertised merchandise but that they had been told they could substitute. She took me to a group of off brand jeans which she offered. They were nowhere near the same quality. There is a term: “bait and switch.” I think this qualifies. I asked to speak to a manager and was taken to a woman named Krista, who essentially repeated the “we didn’t get any” story. No one offered any remedy such as a rain check. I asked for the phone number for your office and was told they didn’t have that information. Really? That was my first, and last visit to your store. Please be assured that I will tell everyone I know about my poor experience with your store and your staff. It costs a lot in advertising to make up for poor “word of mouth.”

I am writing about an experience a friend had at the Lexington NC Magic Mart where she was accused and humilated about stealing a $2 tube of ant gel. After being confronted, emptying her putse, patting herself down, requesting that Randy call the police, he admits he made a mistake, when store manager and corporate office are called, they are rude and insulting also. Magic Mart wont be in business long with all the remarks I’ve read.

To the CEO of Magic Mart, On June the 14th at your Danville Wv store your store Manger who by the way is a rude prick informed me that I was not permitted to carry my fire arm in your store that I have done countless times before, Why now was I harassed by your manger???????? Let me tell you how I feel about this, So far I’ve been in contact with over a hundred people about this issue, All of which have spent thousands of dollars at this location. Our thoughts “F**K YOU AND YOUR STORE”. Never again will we spend a dime in that building. I absolutely refuse to go anywhere without my pistol and allow some idiot to harm my family because you have the mentality “Oh that could never happen in our store”. I’m sure the 50 people in the Florida night club thought the same thing. JOSEPH CHAMBERS

I had an issue with Magic Mart located in Teays Valley WV- 25525. I saw a sales paper showing a bistro table discounted by 10 dollars-It was not my paper so I took a picture of the ad. I went in the store and took the table to the register but it did not show up on sale. I showed the pic to the salesperson and he called the assistant manager over. She looked in the current circular and the item was no longer on sale. That would have been fine if that was the end of it. The problem occurred when she immediately accused me of photoshopping the picture in an attempt to cheat the store out of 10 dollars. When I told her I resented the insinuation, she doubled down and told me what I did is between me and my God. I highly resent the accusation and will NOT go back to that store. It occurred on Monday evening May 8th at about 830pm. I reported it to the manager the next morning but it appeared it was going nowhere.

I am not sure if anyone will actually read this or care for that matter, but I have to say I had one of the worst customer service experiences ever at the Norton VA Magic Mart. I purchased an iPhone charging cable on 5/11/17. It was for my daughter. I had not shopped at a Magic Mart in awhile, but she needed a new cable and this store was right there on my way home. Anyway, the connector that plugs into the phone broke off in her phone. Very disappointing. She needed another cable right away , so we purchased one. Well, the next time I was over in Norton I figure I will stop in to return the broken cable. I found the receipt in my purse. Unfortunately, I no longer had the packaging for it (most teenagers don’t think about keeping that kind of stuff ). Anyway, I go in and no one is at the customer service desk. I ask a cashier about the fact I have a return . He said to go over to the counter and he will call for someone. I stand there for a little while and then a lady approaches, who seems a bit annoyed to be interrupted from whatever she had been doing. I tell her I have a cable that broke and my receipt, and I wanted to see about getting a refund. She doesn’t look me in the eye, she just looks and studies the cable, and then says “well, I don’t think we carry this brand” “let me go see” and walks off. Not a “I’m sorry to hear your cable broke” or anything that made it appear she actually wanted to assist me. Honestly, I found that insulting. Like I am going to go in and try to pull some scam or try to cheat Magic Mart in some way. Like I take random items into stores and try to return them. Very rude! Anyway, she comes back with a package in her hand and says well we have one left actually . She says that she cannot refund my money but would exchange it. However, she would have to take that one out of the box and use the box to return the broken one. She said they could not get credit out of the manufacturer without the box. I told her that I work in customer service as well. I understand about wanting returns back in original packaging, but I do know exceptions can be made. I have accepted returns from customers that are not in original packaging and we have still received credit or maybe a restocking fee is assessed. I asked about a partial refund or store credit. She said no we cannot, this is our policy. I get that all stores have policies and guidelines, but things don’t always have to be black and white in my opinion. to me a customer should be valued and made to feel comfortable shopping there. They will be more willing to come back and shop if they feel valued. To me this assistant manager made it clear that she did not want to assist me from the get go. She treated me like I was a crook right off the bat. This cable was like $13 and change. I’m sure the cost on it is way less. Apparently Magic Mart values that small amount far more than a customer. I told her that will be the last time I shop there. I will be sure to let friends and family know about my experience as well.

Good afternoon.

I live in Salem, VA. Our K-Mart store that has been here for years has just closed. We sure would like to have a Magic Mart to replace it. I believe you would do a great business here, and we would love it.

Please check us out!

Thank you!

I purchased a Shimaha, Trimmer/ Brush Cutter Friday April 28. I put it together the following day. It could barely cut grass, not enough power to cut weeds. It is a true joke as a trimmer….. I paid $136.00 for it… I would expect a trimmer that cost that much to be able to perform well. It did NOT…. I tried to return it today Monday May 1st. I was told by the manager that since I had tried to use it, that it could not be returned, only repaired… A repair can not help junk…. And that’s what this item is…. I am looking for a full refund on this item, and soon.(within a week or two)…. That will be the only way to get my business back in a Magic Mart store. I have been shopping there (Teays Valley, WV) at least 2 times a week for the past couple of years…. If I do not get a full refund, I will try my best to insure my family and friends( in person and on face book) never shop at one of your stores…………

i was shopping at our magic mart in norton va and was treated very very bad by the manger . Her name was Kay . She said every time you come in here we have trouble running your card. You need to bring cash when you come here. She would not let my sister pay for my items with cash. She was mad that some rugs was on sale and wanted to buy them her self .she said they where already sold and said she could not ring them up again. My sister will be returning her 200.90 order . The manager was mad because she said the rugs I buying that she wanted them herself.and would not let me buy those either. With cash! And they where in the rug department. I was humiliated and will be calling my attorney. this makes two times I have had trouble buying at this store. She does not like to do layaway at Christmas either. She lost a 600.00 sale tonight because of her attitude with me and my sister. I am going to tell my attorney of the crull treatment and the imbarressment. I I’ll never shop there again as long as she works there.she hoards back sale items for her self and her friends. Please call me at 276-220-XXXX

Dear Magic Mart. Would you remotely consider erecting a store in the Haysi , Clinchco area, we are getting Raped at small markets and grocerys. It is very difficult to shop for all ones needs at Dollar General, which stays swamped with customers at all times. The need is here, the customers are here, please help our community, this would do wonders for us. I urge you to survey the area, we have nothing for miles around. Thank you Gary Turner

We are avid Magic Mart customers. We purchased an 8×10 rug at your Norton VA store and we like it very much. We want another one just like it. I have now been to five Magic Mart stores. I was told at one there was three in ” the system”, then when I went to the stores they could not find them. Its a LL. Bean HOME Fern Border/wheat Item ID 191683. The Magic Mart tag stated it was a Mohawk Olefin, 406-05-568. Can you help me?

I attempted to use a gift card I received from work. When I went to check out I was told the gift cards weren’t working? I asked if they could check the value and simply let me pay the difference. The rude young lady said no and asked for the full amount. I did not want the merchandise if I couldn’t utilize my gift card. I made the statement that after driving here and my inconvenience perhaps they could offer another card or something? Another lady yelled that “they can’t help technology “. How rude and unprofessional. Perhaps I can redeem my worthless card at a competitor. I also brought 2 friends that made purchases they otherwise would not have made at your store.

I was in your Tazewell store, and inventory was being done. However, the store was still open and in operation. We went to look at some reduced curtains they had that I had planned on purchasing. i only wanted 2 and they were different kinds. They would mot assist us in getting them. They had it taped off. Some aisles said ask for assistant. So we asked, and they denied us the right to purchase them. How hard is it to change the number by 1 on a tag? Thats lazy.

I bought a dura flame heater for my house. We asked the guy for help he looked to be like a manager. He said he had experience with the heater and it works great! So we bought it. 105$. We live in a very old house that were in the process of updating. Well the instructions said do not use a ground adapter to plug it in. It’s was a 3 prong plug and the wall is a 2 prong. So we had to use an adapter. We had to use it just for that night cause it was cold in that room! The next night after my boyfriend got off work we went to magic mart and they was closed. Well this morning we went straight to magic mart they would not take it back. And it was the same man who said to keep our receipt if it doesn’t meet our needs to bring it back! They have lost my business. I have a 1 year old daughter and that 105 dollars could’ve went to another heater to keep her warm

I was in your Oceana, WV store today and was planning to purchase a frying pan. The price on top of the pan was marked $24.99. The price on the bottom was marked $19.99 with a yellow clearance ticket. When I got to the register, I pointed it out to the cashier. She told me that they wouldn’t let me have it for the lower price but she would ask. Well, she ask and Tammy said no. Needless to say, I didn’t buy the pan and it wasn’t the $5.00. It was the fact that it was priced with the lower price which is the price I should have rightly paid. I have worked in retail enough to know that YOU HAVE to let the customer have the item at the lower price. I went over to talk to Tammy and she said it hadn’t been on sale and I couldn’t buy it for the lower price. I informed Tammy that I would be getting in touch with the main office and she replied, “I will tell them you are going to call”. What kind of customer service is this? I will never shop your Oceana store again and when I told Tammy this, her reply was “ok”. Evidently, your store DOES NOT need any business. Poor customer service and rude clerks!

I went into the store in Pulaski, VA this morning. I spent half an hour looking for the exact set of pots and pans I wanted (and they do have a large selection). I finally settled on a set for $79.99. When I got to the register, I explained to the 14 year old girl working there that I wanted to put $50 on a gift card that I had gotten for my birthday and the rest on my debit card. She rang it up, I attempted to run the gift card through and it wouldn’t take it. She called for a manager and then said “maybe there isn’t enough on the card to cover it”. I explained that I had just told her that and she replied “oh, you can’t use two cards”. Would have been some useful info before I wasted my time in their store, which won’t happen again. Moot point anyways. Ollies just moved into the same plaza. Everyone is saying that Ollies will be shutting down Magic Mart very soon. I just want it known that it isn’t Ollies that will be shutting it down, it is the piss poor customer service.
