In-N-Out Burgers was founded in 1948 by Harry and Esther Snyder in Baldwin Park, California. This restaurant was the first drive-through restaurant in California, taking orders over a speaker system. This was a unique idea at the time when most restaurants were drive-up and park, with bellhops taking customer orders.
The restaurant chain remains family owned, with the Snyder’s granddaughter being named CEO. In-N-Out Burgers has slowly expanded over the years. Today, the company has 310 locations in 6 states. In-N-Out Burgers had $575 million in revenue in 2014.
In-N-Out Burgers is known for paying its employees more than minimum wage, as well as offering a wide variety of high quality and unusual burgers. One such burger is called Animal Style, which includes mustard grilled patties, extra pickles, and extra Thousand Island dressing.
