Herbalife History

Herbalife began in 1980 when founder Mark Hughes began selling supplements from the trunk of his car.  Hughes began creating nutritional supplements after his mother Joanne died from an eating disorder.  Herbalife’s first product was a protein shake designed to help people lose weight.

By 1982, the company was growing quickly and had expanded to Canada.

In 1985 the company was sued by the California Attorney General for misleading claims.  The suit was settled for $850,000.

In 1986, the company went public.

In 2000, Mark Hughes died from an overdose of alcohol and prescription medicine.

In 2002, the company was acquired and taken private by J.H. Whitney and Golden Gate Capital.

In 2003, Michael Johnson joined the company as CEO.

In 2004, the company went public again.

Today, Herbalife distributes their products in 88 countries through a network of 2.7 million independent distributors.

I am trying to sponsor someone in India , my downline sponsor including myself have tried numerous times to get help from Herbalife in India and all we get our promises that they will have to call us back and we get no return phone calls . This is so frustrating that my downline sponsor feels his not getting the opportunity Herbalife all so well offers . Please note that we have called the right # and the right department and we have gotten no where , obviously Herbalife in India does not honor the same motto we do here in the states …If anybody has had similar problems please advice on what to do .

myself aashima. I’ve taken herbalife products from since 21 mar 2014. I’m taking regularly shake,multivitamins and fibre. In starting first month i’ve lose my 4 kg wt only but after one month i gain my 2 kg wt. My Distributor are
Mrs Anita living in chandigarh. I call them & tell them about this but they gave me no response….they never call me…..i’ve taken diet according to their prescribtion, but no results are seen. I’m doing efforts but my distributors r not doing efforts 4 me, they r only taking money and go aside… Plz plz help me in this matter…

im a distributor currently living in japan and started using herbal life from five months back feeling great about the products but sadly not about the people who markets it. i want to change my current supervisor who is a japanese to a supervisor in U.S,is that possible?
i have sent 3 mails in this week regarding my issues but yet received no replies.i havent taken my shakes or suppliments so far because i havent placed my order and i wont till my problems are answered.It will be of great help if someone guides me in this difficult situation.

To whom it may concern-
I have had an issue with ordering Herbalife products. Whenever I order product from the website in Northern California (Santa Rosa) using a credit card, I get an email telling me that $9.47 has also been deducted from my credit card; I was then referred to the following link: raspberryketone@nutritioncustmercare.com. I was also given the following phone number: 866-629-8062. I have called repeatedly to get an explanation for the charge but got nothing but a recorded voice saying the number did not answer. the last time I dialed the number nothing happened. I would like to order more product, but I don’t want my credit card ripped off again. I would appreciate your assistance in finding a website or a dealer that I can order from reliably.

I’m not sure why you have random charges on your card but I can definitely get you taken care of if you’d like to purchase confidently from a licensed distributor.

Hello, Juan! Uplines are human beings, like you and I. Their job in life is not to please you nor to agree with your views on anything. This can hamper your success, if you live on hurt feelings!
Do not expect any Upline to be perfect. You will find they make mistakes. Just as you or I do. The best thing to do is take up issues with them directly.!
Your Uplines only job is training and motivation and support…ONLY in Herbalife! They need not kiss your wounds. That is not their job,
You can play musical sponsors as I did, and end up a failing to meet your goals. Not worth it. Be more understanding and loving to them. Being understanding
goes further than being judgemental~ good luck! You can have ten Uplines and not one will
be the saint you are looking for. I speak from experience.
You have to wait one year before signing up.

Hello, my name is Juan J Silva, I reside at 1620 Arbor Drive, in Duluth, Ga 30096, my cell phone number is 404-438-XXXX< I dont remember my Id number . to this date I have not made even one purchase, of any Herbalife products. therefore and because it is almost 1 year with this membership I would like for it to be cancelled as of immediately. I do not wish to, and will not touch base with my upline sponsor, Maria, because I dont have the need or desire to talk to her, She, along with her family have some weird ideas about things, one of them is that I was hospitalized for 1 week and I told her I was uanble to go to one of her meetings, and as she asked me how much my bill had been and when I told her what they billed me at the hospital, her answer to me or remark however you want to put it, was, "Yeah right, like i'm going to believe that"? and it seemed to me like she didn't believe me, well I have no reason to lie, and for this reason I dont wish to talk to her much less do I want to be in her Herbalife Team. Please cancell my membership as soon as possible, and let me know once it has been cnacelled. I am in the process of moving to California by the end of September, and hope to be cancelled by then in case I find someone else to sign up memberhsip again far away from here. thank you for your time and attention.
