Hearst Communications, usually referred to simply as Hearst, was founded in 1887 by William Randolph Hearst. The company is a mass media conglomerate, owning newspapers, magazines, television stations and television channels, as well as being a business information center.
The company is still 100 percent owned by the Hearst family. This mega-media giant has more than 20,000 full time employees, as well as annual revenue in 2014 of $10 billion. The company owns more magazines and newspapers than any other corporation in the world. Some of their best known magazines and newspapers are Car and Driver, Cosmo, House Beautiful, Good Housekeeping, San Francisco Chronicles, and The Advocate.
Most people are unaware that Hearst also owns King Features Syndicate, First Data Bank, KUBRA and CDS Global.
