Haagen-Dazs was founded in 1961 by Rueben and Rose Mattus in the Bronx, New York. The pair wanted a name that sounded Danish, to honor the country that did so much for the Jewish people during the Holocaust. The company operates a chain of ice cream shops, as well as ice cream products that are sold around the world.

The company is famous for their super premium ice cream that does not use stabilizers, such as guar gum or carrageenan. The company originally had only 3 flavors (vanilla, chocolate, and coffee), but today has more than 90 flavors, although some of them are sold only in certain countries. Haagen-Dazs is a subsidiary of Nestle Brands.

Haagen-Dazs is one of the top selling ice cream brands in the world, with more than 900 locations in 50 countries, as well as being sold in virtually every supermarket or corner store around the world. The company also offers individual ice cream treats such as sundae cones, single serve cups, and chocolate coated ice cream bars.

Hello, my name is makenna Wilson. I started working at the Haagen-Dazs at the Tampa premium outlets in Wesley chapel. I was working for 3 weeks. But two days a week since I’m still in school I’m 16. I worked a total of 7 days. And I’ve been trying to memorize the recipes. Well one night while working i kept asking my co worker for help and asked what goes in a smoothie. And she said that i need to memorize the recipes. Which I’ve been trying. And then my boss came in, i was making a milk shake and i accidentally gave someone the wrong amount (this was my first time making that mistake) and in front of the whole store, customers and everything he says “makenna do you know how to count?” And was very rude to me. And it was very unprofessional. Then, this very lovely couple came in and asked for a milkshake and a brownie sandwich. I made the sandwich and the girl didn’t like it. So she asked if i can just give her ice cream in a cup. So i did. As i was making the milkshake, my boss asked me if i memorized my recipes and i said no, because I’m not gonna lie. And i said I’ve been trying to but not yet. And he says “shame on you” once again, in front of everyone. I got sent the direct deposit form when i first started working. But i didn’t have a bank account, but a week later i got one. And i tried getting a voided check but i have usaa and we’ve been trying. I wrote my account info and put it in the safe. He comes out as I’m making the milkshake and puts it on the table next to me and says “ this is unacceptable” on my pay day i was never paid. Not even with a hard check. The couple that saw all of this happen asked my boss what his name was and if they can have a form to file a complaint on him , and he gave them the wrong name and said there was no forms that they couldn’t fill out. I felt really disrespected for him and the way he acted was unprofessional. I asked him last Sunday if he could send me the form for me to fill out my direct deposit and he didn’t answer. Yesterday i tried to again and he didn’t answer. Early this morning on my way to school i got a text from him saying that i can pick up my final check and to return my uniform. I said thank you. So he fired me. I hope you get back to me soon because I’m beyond upset.

On the evening of 2/4/2019 i was eating coffee ice cream when i noticed something handing from a spoon full. i thought it was a hair. However it was a piece of twine! I should have know something was wrong. When i opened the pint it wasn’t filled evenly. Whats up with this? I through the rest of it out.

Dear Haägen-Dazs,

I’m very furious (very softly said because I do not want to be rude) because a young girl in a wheelchair has been asked to leave your “tearoom” in Brussels Louise (Belgium) because she was with her assistance dog. This dog is essential for her in her daily life. Belgian law says that assistance dogs have to be allowed everywhere. Too bad for you, it is now all over the news in Belgium. Haagen-Dazs Belgium aswered by saying that they were welcome but at the time they arrived, there was no free place inside. Again, to bad for you, she was with a friend who took a picture. All tables were free except one! This picture is now public too…
So, this is how Haagen-Dazs treats customers in wheelchairs! And this is how you easely loose customers…
The least Haagen-Dazs could do is to tell the truth instead of telling lies, inform your employees and managers and apologize to this young girl.

Decided to patronize your store at the Riverchase Galleria in Birmingham, AL. The young lady preparing my order dropped the bucket of berries on the floor spilling several of them but picked it up and proceeded to use the remaining berries for the smoothie. When I saw this I stopped her & told her that I did not want those berries used. Another customer standing by asked what happened & I began to tell her. As I was talking to her a woman came over & identified herself as the owner/manager but not to apologize but rather to tell me to leave because I was causing a scene. I couldn’t believe this was happening. She went on to call security & as she stated “she wanted me removed ” I never imagined I would be treated like this but it appears to be the culture of our nation now when the white lady gets upset with the black person. I’m sure that I will never patronize any of your stores again because her confidence level was pretty high to think that I was wrong for refusing to eat the berries off the floor. And then she had the audacity to motion her had in a shooing motion for me to go away. Supremely unprofessional & disrespectful.

Stopped in at your store in Vail Colorado and was treated very rudely by an older gentleman. Poor service and he yelled at us with no apology. We were up there during the 4th of July during the day. Thank you.

Unfortunately I had a very bad experience with Mariana the outlet mall, palm beach FL hagen Daz supervisor. I purchased ice cream from this location after couple of minutes noticed that the cup was leaking, I went back to the store and asked for a new empty cup. To my surprised Mariana was insisting that I had to pay extra to get the cup. She was unprofessional, rude with no customer service skills. I will never spend another dollar at hagen Dazs.

I live in Tallmadge, OH. Some of my friends and I enjoy your Java Chip and Expresso Cookie Crumble ice cream. Unfortunately we have not been able to find it locally recently. Did you stop production of these??? If so, is there a reason. We enjoy coffee Ice cream with chocolate in it. Please let me know if we can get expect these two types of ice cream in our location Thank you.

Dear Sir
My complaint is that I was a guest at the Hilton Garden Inn in Charlotte/Concord in North Carolina on March 23 2018 and March 24 2018, I wanted purchase two small cups of your brand of Ice Cream smaller than Dixie cup size. When going to pay for the items the desk clerk said the cost $12.00. At that point I refused the items. There’s was a way that the hotel inflated the cost of this item. That is an illegal faze of price fixing. On coming back home to Pa. I purchased the same product at half the price. It is a disgrace on the part of the Hilton Corporation to inflate such an item at a 300% profit.

For heaven’s sake – am I the only person in the world who reaches out to you with compliments? That would seem to be the case, as I have just spent nearly an hour trying to send you an e-mail message, and it never went thru due to boxes outlined in red with no explanations. It also was definitely geared to complaints, not compliments. Nowhere on your message page or by searching Haagen-Dazs through a search engine could I find out how to say how much I love some of your flavors. What a disappointment. I was manager of Consumer Services for a Fortune 500 for a number of years and we were thrilled to have people say nice things about us. This incident surely won’t keep me from buying your products, but it truly was a disappointment to feel that you don’t expect to hear good things.

This person working in you store#1051 Continuum located in Miami Beach, Florida over charge us & disrespect us when we order a large cone & strawberry smoothie. I when back to store asking for the receipt since he didn’t give to us ( we notice the he given a coupon to everyone ) I ask polite he mention the he charge for the cone and toppings but in the receipt the charge is for two topping & two cones. I have copy of the receipt
& photo of your employee. Please answer to us asap. We never been treated in the discriminate way as today. He claim he never saw us before”give apparently the right to treat us as he please” FYI we live in Miami.

I went to Southpoint Mall Haagen Daaz in Durham, NC and yesterday I got a scoop of cookies and cream ice cream for $3.97. Today I decided I would get the same thing, but instead I was charged $4.83. I replied with, “even with the discount it is still $4.83? one of the twins (Malik or Micah) replied and said yes. I said, “well I came here yesterday and got the same cup of ice cream for $3.97. He said, you sure it was me? I have a twin brother and told him I didnt know but It was one of them. Instead of him getting twin brother and letting him know that he charged the wrong price for the ice cream, all he said was “well, im sorry.” Bad customer service at its finest. I will not go back.

I have a Haagen Dazs ice cream bar every day Tuesday while eating my dessert I felt something different in my mouth when I spit it out I found a 1/2 inch sliver of wood in the ice cream.
I feel lucky that I didn’t end up in emergency after swallowing the sliver.
I would appreciate a response from you letting me know what you will be doing to protect you customers.
