Energizer Holdings History

Energizer Holdings has its foundation in the Eveready Battery Company. In 1986 the company was sold to animal and human food manufacturer Ralston Purina. In 2000 Purina spun-off Eveready and the new company went public as Energizer Holdings.

In 2003 Energizer expanded into the personal care product sector when it acquired Schick and Wilkinson Sword from Pfizer.

In 2007 the company bought Playtex Products, Inc., which included the sunscreen brands Hawaiian Tropic and Banana Boat.

Energizer Holdings has continued to expand through acquisition, notably Edge and Skintimate shaving gels from S.C. Johnson & Son and Stayfree, Carefree, and ob brands from Johnson & Johnson.

Today the company’s signature battery products are sold in 165 countries.

Energizer Holdings is traded publicly on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol ENR, is a member of the S&P 500, is #549 in the Fortune 500, has 13,000 employees, and had $4.37 billion in revenue in 2013.

I sent my stuff to you on the 5 dollar gift card. No responce. Tell your brillant marketing people that if they want to please and encourage customers – give them the five bucks at the check out counter. That would go a lot better for you if you’re trying to build a bigger consumer base. Don’t make us jump through hoops for that token. We probably would if the reward were bigger but come on it’s 5 bucks.

Here is the latest exchange with David in C/S.
Hi David,
I am assuming that the photo I have sent are sufficient. If that is not true please send me details on what is needed and review this request with a senior manager, Please forward the name of the senior manager who has requested further inconvenience on my part. Please refrain from sending me a form email in the future.

I want to share Curts assessment of your customer service. I have been requested to provide photos of AAA batteries which are at best a year old and will not recharge, The representative wants detail photos showing the manufacturing date which I provided after getting a magnifying glass to decipher the poorly imprinted batteries. “Best in class” I think no way. You fail in product and customer service.
I have several hours into this situation and your C/S has at least one. Is this a cost effective way to keep customers?
