National Wholesale Liquidators was founded in 1984 by Eva Rosen. The company operates a chain of discount stores that sell closeout, discontinued, or slightly irregular items such as food, appliances,furniture, electronics, bedding, and seasonal items such as barbeques or Christmas trees. The company states it often has more than 120,000 items for sale every week.
At its peak, the company had 50 locations before it filed for bankruptcy in 2008. Approximately 35 of the 45 stores were closed when a Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings turned into Chapter 7 liquidation.
Current CEO Scott Rosen acquired some of the assets and formed NSC Holdings, Inc. The company has since reopened 11 locations in NewYork, New Jersey,and Massachusetts.
