In addition to dine-in seating, the restaurants offer take-out service. Crispers was founded in 1989 by Bill and Vanessa Whitaker; it was owned by grocery store operator Publix Super Markets, who sold the company to Healthy Food Concepts in 2011.
The company has closed several locations in 2019 and 2020, including the Waterford Lake Town Center location.
