Bloomberg L.P. was founded by Michael Bloomberg in 1981 as Innovative Market Systems. Bloomberg designed and built his own computerized system to provide real-time market data, financial calculations, and other financial analytics to Wall Street firms.

In 1983 Merrill Lynch invested $30 million to help finance the development of “the Bloomberg” computer system. By 1984 Bloomberg was selling machines to all of Merrill Lynch’s customers.

Michael Bloomberg continues to be the primary owner of Bloomberg L.P., though he had to give up his CEO position to become mayor of New York in 2001. He served as the mayor of New York until 2013.

Today Bloomberg L.P. provides economic, financial, and other information such as legal regulatory and compliance news and research. The company also has a radio station, television station, and its own financial news magazine.

To continue reading this article you must be a Bloomberg Professional Service Subscriber.

Is this the result of the corporate world catching up to the resource of the internet?
To read about how Ticketmaster and live nation are the new scalpers.
I asked the internet for posted information. The information to begin with is from 2015, yet you feel that I should pay your company. For the privilege to read the article. That was posted on a public domain? Is this what Michael Bloomberg intended to do to make his company money. If your going to force someone to pay. To read “free posted news” also include the program to opt out of all of your publications. From 1981-2011 Think Mr. Bloomberg had to pay to read articles on the net after paying for the service from an ISP?
If you could give me a link to prevent your sights from loading.

Hello Mr. Bloomberg;
I am the grant writer for the Sisters of the Holy Cross. We have schools in India, Bangladesh, Uganda and Ghana. Most of these schools are not self-sufficient and large amounts of the Congregation’s basic funds are utilized to ensure that the children we serve are adequately taught reading, writing, social science, science as well as the importance of Christianity in their lives. In addition to teaching these students we provide at least one meal each day to the children. While this normally would not be a major issue, over 250 of our 347 religious members are currently retired and receiving costly medical care. We can use any help you and/or your organization could provide.
I can provide more information.
I thank you, in advance, for your courtesies in this matter.
Respectfully,

Krista Smith MacLennan
